We ask Birmingham residents about their experiences travelling by road or rail during the busy festive season. How do they prepare for Christmas journeys, and do they think the transport system meets the demand? What changes or improvements would they like to see in public transport or road infrastructure?

00:00Well, the roads are a nightmare, so we try to avoid those as much as we can.
00:05Use the tram quite a bit to come to Birmingham.
00:07The tram. Rather than the train, we use the tram.
00:10And go to Wolverhampton on the tram as well.
00:12Yeah.
00:13And so we don't drive around the main roads very much because of heavy traffic this time of the year.
00:19Oh, well, yeah, I think lots of traffic on the roads, so I think that you usually get a better ride on a train
00:27with more certainty of schedules and things.
00:30Oh, look, I think that the infrastructure is pretty good, I have to say.
00:34Yeah, we come by train. Always train.
00:37Leave the car at the local station and, yeah.
00:41There's a quote which says, fortune favours the prepared mind.
00:44This is a quote that I repeat to myself on a constant basis.
00:47I'm always saying to myself, fortune favours the prepared mind.
00:51So, just leave a little bit earlier because it is going to be a lot more busy.
00:56So, just leave in advance.
