Hundreds of people ran through West Princes Street Gardens on Sunday, December 8 to raise money for charity.
Now in its 20th year, the Edinburgh Santa Run is an annual festive fundraiser organised by local charity, When You Wish Upon a Star, with all proceeds going to help grant wishes for children living with life threatening illnesses.

00:41When You Wish Upon A Star is a small registered charity
00:45that works in the hearts of local communities.
00:48We're based across the UK, but our office is based in Musselburgh,
00:51just outside Edinburgh.
00:53We cover Scotland-wide for all charitable activity.
00:56We proudly support children that are aged 4 to 17
01:00and who live with life-threatening illnesses
01:02and, in some cases, terminal conditions.
01:04So their journey with us is through us creating magic and memories
01:08through a wish being granted, and that could be for children
01:11that live daily with their illness.
01:13It could be for children that have been recently diagnosed,
01:16receiving active treatment, in remission,
01:19and also we proudly support families that they are facing unimaginable times
01:23where their child is facing end-of-life palliative care.
01:26Wishes are unique to each child.
01:29We have been a mermaid for the day, a zookeeper.
01:32We had a Taylor Swift wish at Murrayfield this summer as well,
01:36and also Disney Magic as well.
01:38This particular event has always been under When You Wish Upon A Star,
01:41and we're really proud to have reached 20 years for this particular event
01:45where we asked supporters to dress as Santas and Elves,
01:48and also Santa Paws, the dogs, running around
01:51two laps of the stunning West Princes Street Gardens
01:53in aid of making magic and memories for our families.
01:56And we could not be more proud of everyone that takes part in this event.
01:59We've had an incredible support from Edinburgh's Christmas,
02:04Unique Events, Unique Assembly, who have taken us under their wing
02:07and been able to support the event with additional marketing.
02:10We have also worked with Edinburgh Gossip Girls as well,
02:12so it's a community effort to be able to bring this event together,
02:16and at the heart of all of it is our volunteer team on the day.
02:19There's about 60 people that run this event,
02:21and they're all volunteers to be able to make the event a success that it is today.
02:26We're a non-government funded charity that rely heavily on the generosity of others
02:30that support our work, and that could be through monthly giving,
02:34legacy giving, corporate partnerships, schools taking on our charity
02:39for a charity of the year partnership as well.
02:41So there's lots of ways that you can support us,
02:43and I would ask anybody to believe in the gift of magic
02:48and memory making this Christmas for our families.
