00:00And the top of the NFC market almost saw a big shift with the Thursday night game between
00:05the Detroit Lions and the Green Bay Packers.
00:08We were following your Super Bowl outright odds on our in-game coverage where we saw
00:13the Detroit number starting to fall in games where, or in spots where the Packers were
00:18favored to win that game.
00:20Detroit currently sitting at plus 270, at some points they saw plus 320 and plus 350,
00:25so we know that that was a moving number.
00:28Can't hold serve, though, in the game, and they now sit at plus 130 to win the conference.
00:34It is the Eagles, though, who are the second choice right now, Donny, at plus 250.
00:37Yeah, and I liked it where the Eagles are going, and I'm still gonna stick to it here.
00:41Even though we had a close game, you watched the Green Bay Packers and the Detroit Lions
00:44play massive win by the Lions, which they deserve to be favorites, but I always said
00:48if the Philadelphia Eagles were to go into Baltimore and win that game, it looks like
00:51there's a legitimate chance the Eagles would run the table the rest of the way out, and
00:54Detroit may take a loss to be able to put them back into that spot.
00:57I'll tell you what is interesting, though, is how much they are figuring, Joe, between
01:01the Lions and the Eagles.
01:02Plus 270 to 5-1, you say, well, that's a decent little gap, but that's two NFC teams up top.
01:06Now, granted, you have the Buffalo Bills also at a 5-1 price, but typically how that market
01:11would go is Lions would be the favorite, then you would have to put the AFC favorite in
01:15because in order to get to the Super Bowl, those two teams have to play each other, being
01:18the Eagles and the Lions.
01:19So I show that as a testament to how much they're looking at the Eagles like, yo, this
01:23team is legitimate to make a run.
01:25Absolutely.
01:26They win two games by an average margin of 14 points per game, two touchdowns.
01:29I mean, they win today like we expect them, nine straight, be the hottest team in terms
01:33of the NFL.
01:34And think about Detroit in terms of their schedule.
01:36They still have to play the Bills.
01:38They still have to play the Vikings, who's to say they don't drop both of those games
01:41and all of a sudden the Eagles have the number one seed in terms of the conference.
01:45You can never say never.
01:46I think the Eagles right now, to me, are peaking defensively, obviously.
01:50That was the cause of concern early on in the season.
01:53We've seen the rushing attack with Saquon Barkley, now Jalen Hurts, now attacking defenses
01:58over the top.
01:59I mean, they're going to be a tough out the rest of the way.
02:01I mean, can Detroit maintain this from wire to wire is the biggest question.
02:07Can they do it?
02:08They've done a great job up until this point, but if we're talking margins, they haven't
02:11covered now the last two games, is it starting to potentially unravel?
02:15I'm not suggesting they lose games, but maybe one or two where the Eagles can catch them.
02:20The thing for Detroit, if they lose a game next week to Buffalo, I don't think they're,
02:26I mean, it'll be like, ah, defenses catching up, you're falling in seeding, I get that.
02:31Philly's in a unique spot and it's a troubling one.
02:37People might disagree, but there is not a game remaining on the Eagles' schedule that
02:42they can lose where you won't go, ooh, what's wrong?
02:47Today they lose.
02:48Oh, wow, okay.
02:49This team shot, Sirianni's done it.
02:5015-1 the Super Bowl.
02:51I'll tell you, let me tell you this, because I heard it when I was there, and I know you
02:56listened to like the WPI, they lose to Carolina today, Sirianni actually might not make it
03:01next week.
03:02Dylan Hurst, does he survive the cuts in the offseason coming up?
03:05If they lose the following game at home to Pittsburgh, people will be really frustrated
03:10by that.
03:11Okay, maybe not as crazy, but like the way that they'll be rolling, you don't want to
03:14lose a game at home.
03:15It's followed up by going to Washington.
03:17We've seen what's been going on with the Commanders, and then the final two games are
03:21the Cowboys at home, and the Giants at home.
03:24So all of a sudden, the Eagles' options are win 13 games in a row, or we're going to smash
03:33the panic button with a sledgehammer multiple times.
03:38And it's a lot to ask a team to win 13 games in a row.
03:42It just is.
03:43It is.
03:44It's almost like we talk about the New York market, right?
03:46And Philly's that way as well, especially since you made it to a Super Bowl a couple
03:50of years ago and had Pat Mahomes on the ropes, right?
03:53Everybody thought it would be last year, 10-1, you fall off a cliff, you finish the regular
03:58season 1-5, get blown out by Baker.
04:01Now the expectation now with Vic Fangio, Kellen Moore in that offense where they were supposed
04:05to take off.
04:06Saquon has been every bit of the player that you thought when you acquired him.
04:10So there is no excuse anymore.
04:12But I mean, you have to temper it a little.
04:15I mean, if they win 9 straight, 10 straight, and then lose one game, as a gambling perspective,
04:21I think you would take that.
04:22You don't want them to go 13-0 and then lose the first round of the playoffs.
04:26Red, red, red, red, red.
04:27It's going to lay there.
04:28The Blacks got to get in there right on the roulette table.
04:31So as you play it out, you're right about that.
04:32It's also a matter of who you lose to.
04:34The Lions, I guess, technically can afford a loss to the Buffalo Bills, but then still
04:38need to beat the Minnesota Vikings and still have tie-breaking advantages over certain
04:41teams.
04:42This is what makes it so crazy.
04:43I want to point it out.
04:44Before we even watched that primetime game last week, I think it was down to minus 400
04:48as a price for the division for Detroit.
04:50Down from 700.
04:51I believe it was over 1,000 or minus 1,100 now after that victory, and there's still
04:55only one game ahead of Minnesota.
04:57Wild.
