00:21Arjun Tanwar was a 20-year-old state-level boxer who was arrested for killing his father,
00:33mother and sister in their flat in South Delhi's Devli village.
00:37The police said Arjun and his army veteran father Rajesh didn't see eye-to-eye when it
00:54came to his career choice. Arjun was also allegedly miffed by comparisons with his
00:59studious sister Kavita, who was pursuing a master's degree. He was studying BA Political
01:05Science at the University of Delhi while working on his boxing career.
01:09He'd also won a silver medal at a state-level championship.
01:13While comparisons with his sister were already a thorn in Arjun's side,
01:17the tipping point came when he learnt that his father was assigning property to his sister.
01:22A police officer said the family owned a two-storey building where they lived
01:26and a plot in Gulgaon's Harsaru.
01:35On 1st December, Rajesh allegedly publicly humiliated Arjun when their family had
01:57gathered for his sister's birthday. As per the police, Rajesh often reprimanded Arjun
02:02publicly and he felt neglected and isolated.
02:16Arjun used his 51-year-old father's service knife to slit his throat and that of his mother Komal
02:22and sister Kavita. They were 46 years old and 23 years old, respectively.
02:27The police said Arjun told them he slit their throats to prevent them from screaming.
02:32Arjun first attacked his sister in her sleep. According to a TOI report,
02:41she tried to fight him, which left injuries on her body.
02:45He then went for his father Rajesh, who was sleeping, when Arjun slit his throat.
02:50The police said he was so enraged with his father that he also stabbed him in the head.
02:55And as his mother was coming out of the washroom, he ambushed and killed her too.
03:03After allegedly killing his family, Arjun left home for about an hour. The police said he changed
03:10his blood-stained clothes and dumped them along with the murder weapon at Sanjay Van.
03:15When he returned, he called the police saying his family had been murdered while
03:19he was out on his morning run. But the police said Arjun's statements
03:25had discrepancies which made him a person of interest.
03:28And then they found blood stains on the house and motorcycle keys that Arjun had on him.
