00:00We're here in Mandurah today reinvestigating the disappearance and
00:05murder of Annette Deverell back in 1980. This area that we're in, her last
00:10location she was seen was out the front of the post office at around 11.30 at
00:14night and some 22 months later her remains were found at the back of Pinjarra
00:21in bushland. It was only a skeleton that was found. It was ascertained that she
00:26was murdered at the time. The murder investigation was conducted back in 1980
00:31and 82 and obviously no perpetrator has been brought forward for justice so we're
00:38just still investigating and we're trying to appeal to the public who are
00:42around at the time for further information so that we can keep going
00:46with the investigation. Behind us is the boat shed, boathouse tavern. That's where
00:50she was dropped off at around 8 o'clock at night and during the night she went
00:55to another hotel just down further to our right at the Brighton Hotel and this
00:59block is where she spent most of the night. So her last known movements were
01:04out the front of the post office at around 11.30. The last time that anyone
01:09saw her she was speaking to a young male, long blonde hair and that's the only
01:13information we've had. Over all this time, 40 years, we've never been able to
01:17identify who that person was. We're pretty certain that someone would know
01:22and even the male himself, he may not realize that he's wanted to be spoken
01:28to. He might have been someone that just spoke to Annette on the night and didn't
01:32think any more of it. He might not have been a local at all. There's nothing
01:37sinister about it but without talking to him we can't say yes or no.
