00:00Two-time Olympic medalist Nesty Petesio will receive a special award at the upcoming Ciclob Youth Sports Awards Night on December 5.

00:13Filipina Olympian Nesty Petesio is among the awardees at the 4th Ciclob Youth Sports Award.
00:19She will receive the Sports Idol Award for her unwavering inspiration to younger athletes.
00:24Petesio recently served as a coach at a grassroots boxing event in her hometown of Davao de Oro.
00:29According to the two-time Olympic medalist, she's following in the footsteps of her father who's also supported her in her journey.
00:37It feels so good to share what I know about being a national athlete and being a boxer.
00:44My father is a coach and I'm just an amateur.
00:48That's when I started with my father.
00:50He was the one who taught me how to be who I am today.
00:56Petesio added that she sees herself in the young athletes, which is why she never hesitates to offer them support.
01:03That's where I started, in the inter-barangay.
01:06It feels so good to see young athletes like that starting.
01:11After clinching her second medal at the recent Paris Olympics 2024,
01:15the Davao-Wenya boxer has returned to training to prefer for upcoming international competitions,
01:21including the 2025 Southeast Asian Games.
