00:00Good afternoon, welcome to your latest weather update from the Met Office. So, plenty of
00:05blustery showers to end the rest of the weekend, but then turning colder as we head into the
00:09new working week. Low pressure up to the north of the UK pushes north-east in towards Scandinavia,
00:14leaving northerly winds across all of the UK by the time we go through Monday and Tuesday.
00:18We then see a brief ridge of high pressure developing, settling down our weather through
00:23Monday night, but it doesn't last long as low pressure waiting in the wings through
00:27Tuesday and into Wednesday, bringing us some milder air again, so temperatures on the rise
00:31through the second half of the week. Back to the rest of today though, and plenty of
00:35showers around, particularly across northern and western areas. This band of showers pushing
00:39its way eastwards as we go through the afternoon, turning particularly heavy across Northern
00:43Ireland and parts of Scotland this afternoon. The further south and further east you are
00:47generally staying that little bit drier, plenty of blue skies around, some sunshine to end
00:50the afternoon, but it will still be feeling mild for the time of year. Temperatures similar
00:54to what we saw on Saturday, maybe down a degree or two, but perhaps around 15 or 16
00:58degrees across the southwest, and 12 or 13 across parts of Scotland, so well above average
01:03for the time of year. Through the rest of Sunday, that area of showers across parts
01:08of Scotland pushes its way eastwards, meaning most places might see a bit of a downpour
01:12as we head through Sunday night and into the start of Monday. Perhaps a few clear spells
01:16across southern areas into the early hours of Monday morning, but almost anywhere could
01:20see a downpour to start the day. Across parts of Scotland we see some showers feeding in
01:24across the north, these turning increasingly to sleet and snow, particularly over any high
01:28ground to start on Monday morning. And with some northerly winds across the northern half
01:32of the UK, definitely feeling colder overnight. Temperatures dropping here down into the low
01:36single figures, and further south a little bit cooler still, around six or seven degrees
01:41compared to the weekend. So for most of us it will be a bit of a chillier start to the
01:45day on Monday, perhaps some frost and maybe some ice locally in places across parts of
01:49Scotland, but quite a cloudy start here. An area of showers across parts of southern
01:53Scotland, northern England, pushes its way south and eastwards as we go towards the afternoon.
01:57But the further south and further west you are, generally staying that little bit drier,
02:00plenty of sunshine through the afternoon, and those wintry showers do continue across
02:05parts of Scotland through the afternoon. But with northerly winds across all of the UK,
02:09it will be feeling much colder than we saw over the weekend. Temperatures generally closer
02:13to average for the time of year, around nine, ten, perhaps eleven degrees across the south,
02:18and low single figures further north, only five or six degrees. But across those eastern
02:22coasts, we've got a very brisk northerly breeze, so that will make it feel even colder still
02:26here. As we then go through Monday evening, that area of showers across southern and eastern
02:30parts of England pushes away towards the southeast, so it should generally be turning drier for
02:34most of us overnight. But with clear spells, northerly winds, particularly along those
02:38eastern coasts, it will be feeling really quite chilly to start the day on Tuesday,
02:43quite a widespread frost likely. However, wet weather is waiting in the wings as we
02:47head through Tuesday and Wednesday, bringing us that milder air, but it could cause some
02:50disruption in places. So do make sure you subscribe to our YouTube channel to keep up
