00:00Welcome to Mediamorning, here are today's headlines.
00:24Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatened on Thursday
00:28of an intensive war in case of violation of the Treaty with Hezbollah in Lebanon.
00:34The day before yesterday was already put to the test.
00:40The terrorists and their allies, who are leading a large offensive in the north-west of Syria
00:45against the regime's forces, cut off a vital road yesterday.
00:49This is indicated by an ONG that has reported nearly 200 deaths in the violence.
00:55And then the last Sahelian country to shelter French forces
00:59announced last night to put an end to the security and defense agreements with Paris.
01:05And in an interview with the France Press agency,
01:08the Senegalese president Bassir Oumaifa said on Thursday
01:11that France would have to close its military bases in Senegal.
01:16The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu threatened on Thursday
01:20of an intensive war in case of violation of the Treaty with Hezbollah in Lebanon.
01:25The day before yesterday was already put to the test.
01:28The Israeli army had announced a few hours earlier
01:31that it had carried out an air strike against a Hezbollah facility in southern Lebanon,
01:36the first since Monday.
01:39If necessary, I give as an instruction to the army to carry out in case of violation of the ceasefire.
01:45An intensive war, said Benjamin Netanyahu in an interview with an Israeli media.
01:50On his side, the Lebanese army, which began to deploy troops and tanks in the south of the country,
01:56accused Israel on Thursday of having violated the ceasefire agreement several times.
02:03The Israeli army announced that it had imposed a ceasefire between 5 p.m. on Thursday and 7 p.m. on Friday
02:09in southern Lebanon.
02:11Israeli shots, moreover, injured two people in the village of Malkaba in southern Lebanon,
02:17according to the Lebanese press agency.
02:22On the occasion of his participation in the Middays forum,
02:28on the occasion of his participation in the Middays forum,
02:32Median TV met Riyad El Maliki,
02:35advisor for international affairs and special envoy of the Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas.
02:42During this exclusive interview,
02:44El Maliki highly appreciated the role played by the Kingdom of Morocco
02:48under the leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI
02:52in the support and assistance to the Palestinian people,
02:56which the recent letter that His Majesty recently addressed to the president of the committee
03:02in charge of the exercise by the Palestinian people of these rights
03:07fully reflects the Palestinian position.
03:09I suggest you listen to it.
03:16We follow with great interest what is happening in Morocco.
03:20The Moroccan people have never ceased to show their support for the Palestinian people.
03:27While denouncing the crimes of war
03:29and the genocides committed by the forces of Israeli colonization.
03:35This support is recognized on a global scale
03:38and we are deeply grateful for it.
03:43It is not new,
03:45since the Moroccan people have expressed their solidarity several times.
03:49As for the Moroccan government,
03:51it has ceased to reaffirm its support for the Palestinian cause.
03:55It has mobilized actively to support the Palestinian authorities
03:59by bringing its expertise and help for the de-escalation,
04:05while taking advantage of excellent relations between the two countries.
04:11Humanitarian aid has also been provided to the populations of Gaza and Palestinian territories.
04:19This is added to the unwavering position of His Majesty King Mohammed VI
04:23towards the Palestinian cause.
04:28The sovereign, fervent defender of this cause,
04:31has never ceased to deploy all the efforts necessary to provide his aid,
04:37including by using his own means,
04:40especially as President of the Al-Quds Committee.
04:46These actions have allowed to provide precious aid to the city of Al-Quds,
04:51thus witnessing a constant and indestructible solidarity.
04:59Terrorist countries and their allies,
05:01who are leading a large offensive in northeastern Syria against the regime's forces,
05:05have cut this Thursday a vital road.
05:08This is what an NGO indicated,
05:10which resulted in nearly 200 deaths in the violence.
05:13Among the victims are at least 19 civilians,
05:15killed yesterday in Russian air strikes,
05:18according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights.
05:21These are the most violent clashes since 2020,
05:24in the northwest of Syria,
05:26where the province of Aleppo,
05:28largely in the hands of the regime of Bashar al-Assad,
05:31is the last major rebel and terrorist bastion of Idlib.
05:36The Syrian Defense Ministry has said
05:38that in the face of a large-scale attack by terrorist organizations in the Aleppo region,
05:42the offensive was launched on Wednesday
05:45by the terrorists of Hayat al-Tahrir al-Sham in Idlib.
05:49A correspondent from the Agence France-Presse reported
05:52two violent clashes in the east of the city of Idlib,
05:55which are accompanied by air strikes from the Syrian army.
05:58The fighting, which sometimes takes place less than 10 km from the Aleppo metropolis,
06:02held by the government,
06:04has made nearly 200 deaths since Wednesday,
06:07according to the OSDH.
06:10In the news also the Chad,
06:12the last Sahelian country to shelter French forces,
06:16announced Thursday evening to end the security and defense agreements with Paris.
06:24An announcement came a few hours after a visit
06:28of the head of French diplomacy, Jean-Noël Barraud.
06:32The government of the Republic of Chad
06:34informs national and international opinion
06:37of its decision to end the cooperation agreement
06:40in the field of signed defense with the French Republic.
06:44This is what the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Chad,
06:47Abdelrahman Koulamalla, said on the Facebook page of the ministry.
06:52Chad is a key link to the French military presence in Africa,
06:56constituting the last anchor point from Paris to the Sahel
06:59after the forced withdrawal of its troops to Mali, Burkina Faso and Niger.
07:08And then the Senegalese president, Basir Odiomayfay,
07:12said yesterday that France would have to close its military bases in Senegal
07:17in an interview with the France Press agency,
07:19where he mentioned the re-election of Donald Trump
07:22and the relationship with Russia.
07:24Concerning the events of Tiaroy,
07:27the Senegalese president said he received from French President Emmanuel Macron
07:32a letter in which he recognizes that it was a massacre,
07:36in a very clear way, without ambiguity on the terms,
07:40on relations with France and the French military presence
07:44and that of French bases in Senegal.
07:47The Senegalese president, Basir Odiomayfay,
07:50said that Senegal is an independent country, a sovereign country,
07:54and sovereignty does not accommodate the presence of military bases
07:59in a sovereign country.
08:00Our military doctrine is not only about the question of military presence,
08:05it goes beyond, it obviously imposes that there are no more military bases
08:09in any country, whether in Senegal, he said.
08:19During the Mideast, which continues,
08:21African ministers highlighted the importance of human resources
08:25for the development of the continent.
08:27They called for the development of public policy.
08:30They encouraged the return of the African diaspora
08:34so that it can contribute to the emancipation of Africa.
08:38More details in this report by Faisal Abrouj,
08:42with me, Bourges, and the story of Alaa Ben Ali.
08:48During the plenary session entitled
08:50The Renaissance of Africa, Reinforcing Sovereignty,
08:53Security, Governance and Economic Resilience,
08:56the participants emphasized the need for authentic cooperation
09:01between African countries to guarantee sustainable development.
09:04The participants also reminded that African sovereignty
09:08goes through the exchange between Africans.
09:10The most important thing is to know where our interests are.
09:13You are sovereign when you are able to negotiate your interests
09:17and not let others impose their way of doing things.
09:21And so, I said earlier something that we must keep in mind,
09:26exchange is a very, very good thing,
09:28and it is our character as Africans.
09:30Exchange when it is a compromise that is also in our favor,
09:35but without denaturing it,
09:37because the most important thing is to think about our populations, our people.
09:40The participants also emphasized the need for economic and social development of the continent.
09:46In addition, there is unanimity in this sense.
09:49Sovereignty is not an acquired thing, but rather a permanent struggle.
09:55What emerged from the discussion that took place this morning
09:59with participants representing national sovereignties
10:05as well as regional sovereignties,
10:08but also specific thematic sovereignties,
10:11what emerged is that, clearly,
10:14sovereignty remains at the center of the challenges
10:19and that sovereignty is being built.
10:22Sovereignty is not an acquired thing, it is a permanent construction,
10:27but also, this sovereignty is not limited only at the national level.
10:32Other participants in this 16th edition of the MedDays
10:35have chosen to give as an example the Kingdom of Morocco,
10:38which is a school in terms of sovereignty.
10:41I think that when we talk about sovereignty,
10:44I rather think of African sovereignty,
10:48a sovereignty in solidarity.
10:51It is not a sovereignty that turns into rivalry,
10:54which has no interest for Africa.
10:56I think that Morocco has always shown sovereignty
11:03by claiming, of course, the Sahara that belongs to it.
11:07And we, as Gambia,
11:09Gambia's position has never been mistaken.
11:13There is no ambiguity for us on the Moroccan Sahara.
11:18And we have also seen the resilience of the Moroccan people.
11:22Under the high patronage of King Mohammed VI,
11:24the MedDays Forum takes place until 30 November
11:27and brings together more than 250 high-level stakeholders,
11:30including heads of state and influential personalities,
11:33in front of an audience of more than 6,000 participants
11:36from more than 100 countries.
11:41Place now to the guest of the Media Morning,
11:45the ceasefire between Israel and Hezbollah
11:49came into force on Wednesday in Lebanon.
11:53The agreement was concluded after more than a year of hostility
11:58and which led to an open war between the Israeli army
12:01and the Lebanese Hezbollah movement.
12:03On the verge of this dream,
12:05the Gaza Strip continues to be the scene of extreme violence
12:10to point out the evolution of the situation in the Middle East.
12:14It is my pleasure to welcome Mr. Abdelhafid Wolallou,
12:17political scientist and vice-president of the Moroccan Institute of International Relations.
12:21Hello, Mr. Abdelhafid Wolallou.
12:24Thank you for accepting our invitation.
12:27Hello and thank you for your kind invitation
12:31to talk about this situation in the Middle East.
12:34Very well.
12:35Yesterday, the Lebanese army accused Israel
12:39of carrying out an air strike against a Hezbollah facility
12:43in the south of Lebanon,
12:45of having violated the ceasefire agreement several times.
12:50Does this seem fragile to you?
12:54Very fragile.
12:55Unfortunately, we have welcomed the ceasefire in the south of Lebanon,
13:03which has experienced a dramatic situation,
13:07daily bombings and clashes with Hezbollah and Shiites, as they say.
13:16Unfortunately, it continues.
13:20I hope that the ceasefire is respected by both parties
13:27because there is peace in this region.
13:29There is stability.
13:31It is about the national sovereignty of Lebanon,
13:35which we know as a country of tolerance,
13:40even if there were three confessions,
13:43Shiite, Sunni and Christian.
13:47Unfortunately, what has happened since last September,
13:52it was really a war and a dramatic situation.
13:56It should always be remembered that in order to have a lasting peace in this region,
14:02and especially in Lebanon,
14:04it is the application of Resolution 1701 of 2006,
14:09which was voted by the Security Council,
14:12and that now it must be applied, of course,
14:16that is, the withdrawal of Israeli forces
14:21and also to ensure the stability of Lebanon
14:26and that weapons must be held only by the Lebanese state and Lebanese forces.
14:33That said, Lebanon is still a forced passage
14:41between Syria, the occupied Palestine
14:45and, of course, the whole Middle East has suffered
14:49because of this dramatic situation in the south of Lebanon,
14:52which we have always expressed,
14:54and His Majesty has always expressed it every time that solidarity is lost.
14:58Mr. Ouad Alou, since you are talking about the agreement,
15:01forced by the ceasefire agreement to withdraw from the zone along the border with Israel,
15:06the Lebanese movement Hezbollah,
15:08could Hezbollah lose its main reason for being,
15:12in this case, the resistance against Israel?
15:15Well, when you say the main reason for the existence of Hezbollah,
15:19since 1982 it was the resistance
15:24and it was to put an end to the occupation of Israel in this region of Lebanon.
15:33Unfortunately, since then, the war has continued in Lebanon
15:39with, of course, all the results you know,
15:42as a negative impact on stability and peace in this region.
15:48And with this ceasefire, we hope that things will improve
15:54on the political level to have presidential elections in Lebanon.
15:58Yes, precisely, you mentioned earlier the sovereignty of Lebanon.
16:02Lebanon has remained without a head of state for more than two years.
16:07A meeting is scheduled for January 9th.
16:10The parliament will be held to elect a President of the Republic
16:15to hope for a lasting peace in Lebanon.
16:19Will this problem of funds, which is the sovereignty of Lebanon, have to be solved?
16:26What was paradoxical is that in this situation in southern Lebanon,
16:31it was an armed group against the State of Israel.
16:35It is not the Lebanese state that is waging war.
16:38And this has always been recalled by Mr. Mirkati,
16:42Prime Minister in office until now in Lebanon,
16:48and that the negotiations have been between Nabi Berri, the Shiite,
16:53who presides over the Lebanese parliament, and of course the State of Israel,
16:59with the presence of the United States and of course France.
17:03And I think that this international consensus,
17:08which leads to this ceasefire, which we hope will also be on the agenda
17:14in the Gaza Strip, because it is a whole and a space that knows this drama,
17:22this Israeli aggression, it must be said, it must be condemned,
17:25because it is mainly the occupation of the Palestinian land by Israel
17:34since the partition in 1947 and since the creation of the State of Israel in 1948,
17:39but especially since the war of 1967,
17:42which led to the occupation of several parts of the Palestinian territory.
17:47Let's talk about the Gaza Strip in a message addressed
17:50on the occasion of the International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People,
17:54celebrated last Tuesday.
17:56His Majesty the King Mohammed VI launched a call for an immediate ceasefire in Gaza.
18:02Morocco requires an unconditional opening of the crossroads
18:06to carry out humanitarian aid, a pragmatic position,
18:12but also an imprint of a profound humanism.
18:16What do you think, Mr. Alello?
18:18Every year, every November 29 of each year,
18:21the world celebrates this International Day of Solidarity with the Palestinian People.
18:26On this occasion, His Majesty sent a letter, a message,
18:30which we consider a strong message of peace and tolerance,
18:36as they say, opening perspectives for the Palestinian people
18:40and for this Palestinian issue, which we consider a national issue.
18:44And in this message, His Majesty, after having analysed the dramatic situation in Gaza
18:54since October last year, with all the results that we unfortunately know,
19:03His Majesty had insisted that a political solution to this situation was needed.
19:10It is the solution of the two states.
19:12It is the respect for international legality and the resolutions of the United Nations.
19:17And they are numerous, unfortunately, and they have always been ignored by the State of Israel.
19:22His Majesty had insisted on the opening of all the crossroads for humanitarian aid
19:29to the service of the Palestinian population,
19:33unfortunately isolated and always under Aryan strikes.
19:39And His Majesty had also said that the fire must be put out urgently,
19:45sustainably, and put an end to this situation by the opening of direct negotiations.
19:51Given that Morocco has privileged relations with the two parties,
19:56it is necessary to move on to something else.
19:58Something else, these are negotiations, a serious process
20:02to reach a political solution, the solution of the two states.
20:07Despite the resurgence of diplomatic efforts and the pressure of the international community,
20:14a ceasefire seems still far away in Gaza.
20:21We hope it will be for tomorrow.
20:23Everyone hopes for a ceasefire.
20:25Everyone hopes that this situation, which has lasted, as I have said, since October last year,
20:33is over, as they say, and that we must move on to something else.
20:38Something else is the prayer in Gaza,
20:41but we must go through the measures that His Majesty had raised in this message,
20:47which are five essential measures, as I have said.
20:50The immediate and sustainable ceasefire, the opening of the crossroads for humanitarian aid,
20:55direct negotiations, the support of all humanitarian organizations
21:01that depend on the United Nations, such as UNHCR,
21:04and also stopping the expulsion of Palestinians,
21:08forced, as the State of Israel wants now,
21:13but we are, and everyone is unanimous,
21:16that it is necessary to preserve the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people and protect them.
21:21While the International Criminal Court issued an arrest warrant
21:25against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu
21:28for war crimes and crimes against humanity.
21:32The reactions have multiplied since.
21:35Benjamin Netanyahu's persistence in the escalation of his policy
21:42in the Middle East, can it still continue?
21:48It is a question of respect for international legality.
21:52The International Criminal Court, as you say,
21:55as well as the International Court of Justice,
21:58have done their job, as they say,
22:00and we must respect the results of these judicial proceedings
22:06against Netanyahu and his former Minister of Defense, Galant,
22:11and we must move on to this immediate respect.
22:16Of course, there have been reactions against the decision of the International Criminal Court
22:20to arrest and judge the war criminal.
22:25It must be said, Netanyahu, unfortunately, the United States,
22:30perhaps some European countries, not to mention them,
22:34they are known, they still found explanations to this state of things,
22:42as they are not signatories of these countries,
22:48given that all countries that are signatories,
22:51and there are many, more than 120 signatory states,
22:55must respect the decision of the CPI to arrest Netanyahu
23:01and judge him if he leaves the territory of the State of Israel.
23:06So we must respect international legality,
23:09and I can say that everyone is mobilized for this respect for international legality,
23:17respect for international law, respect for human rights.
23:21We are facing challenges, and we must raise them together
23:25to ensure peace and security.
23:29As His Majesty said, there will be no peace or security in the Middle East
23:34without the creation and respect for the legitimate rights of the Palestinian people,
23:39the independent Palestinian state with Al-Quds as its capital.
23:44His Majesty, as President of the Al-Quds Committee,
23:47of course, he insisted on the role of the Beytman-Al-Quds Agency
23:52for everything it does on the ground in Al-Quds
23:56for the Palestinians who resist in this holy city.
24:01Let's not forget what is happening in Sijordani,
24:05because it is also a serious situation,
24:07and we must stop this dramatic situation in the Middle East.
24:11Mr. Abdel-Hafid Walelouf, unfortunately we are coming to the end of our section.
24:15Thank you for accepting our invitation.
24:18Thank you for this enlightenment.
24:20I remind you that you are a political scientist and vice-president
24:23of the Moroccan Institute for International Relations.
24:31This is the end of this edition.
24:33Thank you for following it.
24:34Stay with us.
24:35The training continues on Mediard TV.
