00:00Yeah, so we're sat here in the Ski Lodge at Racks Bar and Kitchen. It's our festive pop-up
00:08space and we can't wait to welcome people in to join us. Tell me a little bit about
00:12this pop-up then. So we've been having the Ski Lodge here at Racks for maybe four years
00:16now and this year is our best yet. We're currently sat in our photo booth section so you can
00:21come and enjoy yourself on the ski lift here and get some props and take some photos away
00:25with you. But yeah, it's a really gorgeous space. It's fully insulated and heated. We
00:30think we're the best in Bristol to come and enjoy a little festive drink and we're open
00:34through to the end of January so you've got plenty of time to come and join us. You know
00:37what? We're in a very weird time in the world. We're coming out of Covid. We're in a costly
00:41living crisis. Why is coming summer like this going to lift people's spirits this festive
00:46season? Yeah, absolutely. Things are tough for people right now and we want to provide
00:51people that happy experience, that nice lift in their week, that celebration amongst friends.
00:57So yeah, Christmas is really important for us as a business. It's a huge part of our
01:02trade and it allows people to come and experience it in a new light. Normally in summer this
01:06is a fantastic terrace space and people enjoy it for that but it will feel like a completely
01:10different space if you come and visit us at Christmas. Or you might be here for the first
01:14time which in which case would be lovely to meet you. Opening up a ski resort in the centre
01:20of Bristol is becoming a tradition for Racks Bar & Kitchen. Let's find out what this means
01:26to them and what are they hoping to provide for their guests for 2024 season? Yeah, absolutely.
01:35We are here to light up people's day so we know things are a little bit tough and want
01:38people to come out and enjoy themselves. So we do shot skis so it might be a little shot
01:44with friends or it might be, I'd say, lunch with your work colleagues but we're here to
01:48lift your spirits and we're here through to the end of January so it might be that
01:51now isn't the right time for you but you can get a bit of festive fun after Christmas as
01:55well when you need a pick-me-up. But Racks Bar & Kitchen isn't the only company bringing
01:59festive fun through the Betwixtmas period. Bristol's Christmas Village will be open until
02:06the 3rd of January this year and there will be lots of things for all ages to do including
02:11a roller hub, curling, VR sleigh riding, classic rides, games and more. Let's chat to the Bristol
02:17Shopping Quarter team to find out more about this new seasonal village.
02:23We've got Bristol Christmas Village opening which is going to be a new addition to Bristol's
02:27Christmas offering. It also covers that Twixmas period in between New Year and Christmas.
02:32So over there we're going to have a roller hub which is a roller disco, we've got curling
02:36lanes so you've seen it at the Olympics, now is your chance to try it right here in the
02:40centre of Bristol. There'll be some fun rides there as well, we've got waltzes, we've got
02:44dodgems plus lots of other things and some fantastic food as well including one of our
02:49favourite stalls here at Bristol Christmas Market is the Yorkshire Pudding Wrap. People
02:52come for miles around to get those Yorkshire Pudding Wraps and we've got one of those stalls
02:56again in the village as well.
