If it couldn’t already get any worse, the Welsh Rugby Union have announced losses of seven and a half million pounds for the year ending June 2024. Despite major concert tours visiting the stadium over the last few years, the WRU have taken another blow after a tumultuous year.

00:12Welsh Rugby Union have now announced losses for the most recent year.
00:17Among the countless problems facing the WRU, the losses account for £7.5 million, despite
00:22some major events taking place at the Principality Stadium.
00:27The WRU own and operate the Principality, and some major concert tours like Taylor Swift's
00:31Eras tour visited the city in June, as well as a number of major acts last summer, but
00:37despite the huge concerts and events, the union still recorded the losses.
00:42Abbie Tierney, the WRU's Chief Executive, who took the job in January this year, said
00:46the losses were difficult, but came among a number of future-focused initiatives in
00:51the grassroots level of the game in Wales.
00:54For many though, the future certainly doesn't look bright.
