00:00Israel's Security Cabinet has approved a U.S.-brokered ceasefire deal with Hezbollah
00:22in Lebanon following Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's agreement.
00:26The Prime Minister's office said the plan was approved by a 10-to-1 vote.
00:30Previously, Netanyahu had cited three main reasons for the deal on the Israeli part,
00:35namely to focus on the Iranian threat, to refresh army forces and resupply, and to disconnect
00:40the fronts and isolate the Palestinian resistance Hamas.
00:44Furthermore, he stressed Israel would attack if Hezbollah violates the proposed truce.
00:49The agreement allegedly repeats UN Security Council Resolution 1701 and involves the monitoring
00:54of the U.S. and France.
00:56Israeli media report that the cessation of hostilities will take effect at 4 a.m. local
01:00time on Wednesday.
01:01In the meantime, Saudi forces have issued new evacuation warnings for Beirut's southern
01:06suburbs.
