00:00In the meantime, for what being lawmakers viewed as evasive, uncooperative, and for

00:05not telling the truth, the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Vice President, Attorney

00:09Zuleika Lopez, was cited in contempt.

00:12Her actions over the weekend, which caused tension and which showed defiance to a transfer

00:17order by the lower house, further compounded her woes, as lawmakers decided to extend the

00:23contempt order to 10 days.

00:30Office of the Vice President's Special Disbursing Officer, Gina Acosta, was rushed to the hospital

00:35after suddenly feeling unwell during the hearing of the House Committee on Good Government

00:39and Public Accountability.

00:41Acosta is one of the officials from the OVP who's long been invited by the House panel,

00:47and she finally appeared.

00:48Acosta was brought to Veterans Memorial Medical Center, where Usec Zuleika Lopez, another

00:53OVP official, is also confined.

00:55Earlier during the hearing, the House panel extended the contempt and detention order

01:00against Lopez from 5 to 10 days.

01:03This is because of her being allegedly evasive, uncooperative, and dishonest, not only in

01:08the hearings, but also in detention last Saturday at the lower house when the transfer order

01:13for her to be transferred to the Women's Correctional Facility in Mandaluyong City was

01:17served.

01:18Several lawmakers were dismayed as the Vice President intervened to prevent it, and Lopez

01:23also resisted, and they even held a press conference while staying at the House premises

01:28where they allegedly made baseless accusations to allegedly malign their institution.

02:20Vice President Duterte, who personally attended the hearing, defended their camp and for the

02:24first time also took an oath before the committee.

02:27Other OVP officials who had been previously summoned by the House panel also made their

02:32appearances and aired their side.

02:34During the discussion, lawmakers once again scrutinized the alleged anomalous use of confidential

02:39funds by the OVP, as well as the DepEd, when it was still under the Vice President's leadership.

02:44With this, Chairman Chua emphasized that the public can be assured they only want nothing

02:49but the truth and for justice to prevail.
