00:00In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Ever Merciful.
00:10Assalamu Alaikum, I welcome you to the program Kaif Fakir.
00:14As usual, we have with us Mr. Yusuf Fazl-e-Marchaad,
00:17and our format is that your questions come to us,
00:21your topics are suggested to us,
00:23we put them in front of Mr. Shah,
00:25and then we give you answers that provide guidance for you.
00:32Listen to them, pay attention to them,
00:36and then see how you can make your life better.
00:40So, Mr. Shah, Assalamu Alaikum.
00:42Walaikum Assalam.
00:43I have a question,
00:44I think we will add it to what we discussed in the previous program.
00:49The question is,
00:50is it possible that in our daily lives,
00:53we give our work such a result that it becomes a form of worship?
00:57This is a program that we did earlier,
01:00we talked about traffic and other things,
01:02we looked at other things as well.
01:04I think if this happens,
01:06that we start doing our work as a form of worship,
01:10then we will be able to overcome a lot of difficulties.
01:13We will be able to find peace,
01:15and we will be able to start living our lives in a normal way.
01:20Please tell us about this.
01:22This is not just a matter of possibility,
01:26it is an obligation.
01:32The religion that we follow,
01:35that religion gives us the means to live our lives.
01:43For that, there are laws and regulations.
01:49When a Muslim,
01:54when any non-Muslim accepts Islam,
01:59after becoming a Muslim,
02:02his entire life is governed by the laws and regulations of the religion.
02:10If there is any aspect of life,
02:13if there is a small aspect of life,
02:19our religion gives us the means to wear shoes.
02:24That you have to wear shoes,
02:26which one to wear first,
02:28which one to take off first.
02:32Our religion teaches us in detail up to this point.
02:36This is so that we can spend the rest of our lives
02:42according to the laws and regulations of our religion.
02:47This is why,
02:49there is something about Islam,
02:51that you have to enter Islam completely.
02:54The goals of our life
02:57are determined by the concept of our hereafter.
03:02I will explain this in this way,
03:05to make it easier for people.
03:08If I keep in mind,
03:11that I live my life in such a way that my hereafter is saved,
03:16then I will arrange my life,
03:19to worship,
03:21to do good deeds,
03:24in the love of the creation of God,
03:27I will try to involve myself,
03:30to worship,
03:32and if I become a successful person,
03:35then my order will change completely.
03:38So, in this,
03:40is it wrong to make a goal of success?
03:44Should our goal be,
03:47that I should be saved in the hereafter,
03:50and I should try for that success.
03:54If we rephrase this a little bit,
04:02then it will become a reality.
04:08Goals are not set by the concept of the hereafter.
04:12In fact, our goal is the life of the hereafter.
04:16Right?
04:17That the life of the hereafter,
04:21should be right for us.
04:24No matter how many difficulties we face in the present life,
04:28but the life of the hereafter should be saved.
04:31That is our goal.
04:33One thing,
04:37look at it,
04:39those people who,
04:41have dedicated their lives,
04:44according to the rules of religion,
04:49their lives are being governed,
04:52according to the rules of religion,
04:57they are doing everything,
05:00according to the religious orders.
05:03Sometimes,
05:04if you look closely,
05:06they are very successful people in the world.
05:09God,
05:10blesses them with success,
05:13and also with respect.
05:18But,
05:19it is true,
05:23that,
05:25to live life according to the rules of religion,
05:29a lot of effort is required,
05:31and a lot of patience is required.
05:33Because,
05:34when we live our lives according to the rules of religion,
05:38and we try to live our lives according to the Sunnah,
05:42then we come to a very tough place.
05:46For example,
05:47in Sunnah,
05:48there is a great Sunnah,
05:51to forgive others.
05:56And to forgive in such a way,
05:58that you don't wait for others to ask for forgiveness.
06:02Rather,
06:03if someone is at fault,
06:05you forgive them with a smile.
06:07This is Sunnah.
06:09The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him,
06:12that,
06:13if you look at your entire life,
06:16from a deep perspective,
06:19you will not find a single incident,
06:23that the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him,
06:27on the basis of personal reasons,
06:30who has committed personal enmity,
06:34the Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him,
06:37did not forgive him without asking for forgiveness.
06:42The biggest example is the conquest of Mecca.
06:46A person,
06:48here,
06:49he makes a lot of sacrifices.
06:51He suppresses his ego.
06:54He has to suppress his instinct to take revenge.
07:04It is difficult,
07:06but it is not impossible.
07:08The Prophet, peace and blessings of Allah be upon him,
07:11lived his life according to the religion,
07:14so that the Ummah can act upon it.
07:18That this is something that can be acted upon.
07:23These people are very successful.
07:27Those who live their lives according to the religion,
07:30they are successful in every way.
07:34So, it is not that,
07:36we will separate the worldly success from the religion.
07:42It is the same.
07:43It will be governed according to the religion.
07:46Mr. Shah, please allow us to take a break.
07:48We will come back to you after the break.
07:50Welcome back.
07:51Please tell us,
07:52if we want to know our purpose in life,
07:55can it only be through worship?
07:58Is there a way,
07:59that we can live our lives in a good manner,
08:02with worship, life and society,
08:04and be able to achieve our goal?
08:06If we look at Islam,
08:11then worship, rituals,
08:15are a small part of Islam.
08:19The rest of it,
08:23we call it the rights of mankind.
08:26The rights of Allah is a small part,
08:29but the rights of mankind is a big part.
08:32So, in order to understand this,
08:35I would like to say that,
08:37worship and rituals.
08:41Worship is very important,
08:43it provides the foundation.
08:46Worship,
08:51gives us the training,
08:53through which,
08:56we can live our lives according to Islam.
09:02It provides the training.
09:07That is why,
09:08worship is very important.
09:11But,
09:12when we ask Allah,
09:15it will be based more on the rights of mankind.
09:19Right.
09:20So, we have to worship,
09:24because it is the right of Allah.
09:26We will fulfil the rights of Allah.
09:30But, the benefit of it is that,
09:32we get the training,
09:34and it becomes easier for us,
09:36to discharge the rights of mankind,
09:40in the manner in which Islam says.
09:45I remember a small incident,
09:47in relation to the Hadith.
09:51It is said that,
09:52a baddhu came to the Prophet,
09:56and he said that,
09:58I want to accept Islam.
10:00So, the Prophet said,
10:02read the Kalima.
10:04He read the Kalima.
10:05What should I do now?
10:06He said, what do you do first?
10:08He said that,
10:09I cut wood in the jungle,
10:11and bring it home.
10:12So, the Prophet said,
10:14that is fine,
10:15do that work.
10:17So, the companions asked,
10:19the rest of the things,
10:21he said,
10:22the rest of the things,
10:23will be included in my life.
10:25But, he is a simple man.
10:27If he is given so much benefit,
10:29then it will be difficult for him.
10:33Obviously,
10:34it is the wisdom of the Prophet.
10:36Yes, yes.
10:37Who has been able to reach that wisdom,
10:40till today?
10:41Yes.
10:43So, in this regard,
10:44it is also that,
10:45there are other incidents.
10:47There are countless incidents.
10:49Yes, yes.
10:50It is the wisdom of the Prophet.
10:52Yes, yes.
10:53And,
10:54it is the wisdom of the Prophet,
10:56that no one will be able to reach that wisdom.
10:59Yes.
11:00Moving forward,
11:01it is said that,
11:02the Kalima has so much power,
11:04that it brings about a change in a person.
11:08The Kalima changes the body chemistry.
11:11Right.
11:12In this regard,
11:13I was looking at a question,
11:15from where I started this discussion.
11:18That is,
11:19should we keep on inheriting the Kalima,
11:22in our life,
11:23in our daily life,
11:24in our knowledge.
11:25A person is saying,
11:26if there is so much importance,
11:28then how ordinary should we make it?
11:30No,
11:31definitely make it ordinary.
11:33Yes.
11:35You will get a lot of blessings from it.
11:37A person,
11:40his mind also gets enlightened from it.
11:44So, definitely,
11:46if a person can afford,
11:48that he should always read it,
11:50in his heart.
11:53Right.
11:55This is a question,
11:56and it is said that,
11:57we have made our life in such a way,
12:00that we have forgotten,
12:01that we have to die as well.
12:04And,
12:05we are in a hurry,
12:06in a mess,
12:07we are stuck in life.
12:09Is there a way,
12:10that I should remember,
12:11that I have to die as well,
12:13and according to that,
12:14I should arrange my life?
12:17The saint,
12:20has always been saying,
12:24that,
12:25sohbat has a big impact on a person.
12:29To add a little more to this,
12:31Okay.
12:33The kind of literature that you read,
12:37that also plays a big role in characterizing a person.
12:41It changes the mental structure of a person.
12:45Hmm.
12:46It changes the way of thinking.
12:48The mental structure of a person,
12:50is the way of thinking.
12:52So, when we,
12:54in our life,
12:56study,
12:57those things,
12:59in which,
13:00the stories of our ancestors have been narrated,
13:05there are many examples of our ancestors,
13:09Hmm.
13:10So, our thinking goes there,
13:12it gets influenced.
13:14Okay.
13:15So, sohbat,
13:17that we,
13:19we are not able to avail physical sohbat,
13:22that we go and sit among such people.
13:26But at least,
13:28the stories that relate to the people who have passed away,
13:33we read those.
13:34Hmm.
13:35When we read those,
13:36the direction of our thinking,
13:38starts to change.
13:40Hmm.
13:41And we gradually,
13:42then,
13:43go there.
13:44Hmm.
13:45And that is the right path.
13:47Hmm.
13:48You have said a very good thing.
13:50I was reading somewhere,
13:51it is like,
13:52you are what you eat,
13:53it is very famous.
13:54Yes.
13:55So, another person is saying,
13:56you are what you read.
13:57That is true.
13:58What you read,
13:59Yes.
14:00you become that.
14:01Absolutely,
14:02it is like that.
14:03So, here,
14:04choice is very,
14:05one of our friends,
14:06Shiraj Munir,
14:07he used to say,
14:08that,
14:10in the olden days,
14:11a person used to remain a mystery,
14:13because there were no books.
14:15And now,
14:16because there are a lot of books,
14:18and a person,
14:19just by thinking that,
14:20I have read so many books,
14:22he becomes convinced,
14:23even though,
14:24he has read the wrong books.
14:26Absolutely.
14:27So, these choices,
14:28these,
14:29what,
14:30I mean,
14:31a person himself,
14:32obviously,
14:33he will not be able to know.
14:35Now,
14:36like you said,
14:37some books,
14:38you mentioned in the previous program,
14:40that they should read.
14:42In this,
14:46how to avoid a bad book?
14:48I mean,
14:49is there a need for a teacher,
14:51a guide?
14:52Or,
14:53I mean,
14:54a person himself,
14:55comes to a stage,
14:56where he comes to know,
14:58that this is a bad book,
14:59I have to avoid it.
15:02Some time ago,
15:03when the parents had time,
15:05to give their children time,
15:08so,
15:09wise parents,
15:11from a very young age,
15:14used to take their children,
15:16towards reading habits.
15:18They used to start with comics.
15:23After that,
15:26just because,
15:27my child,
15:28was inclined towards books,
15:30parents used to read books,
15:32while the child was present.
15:35So,
15:36from today,
15:37the child,
15:38who used to grow,
15:39was inclined towards those books,
15:41which were easily available to him.
15:45So,
15:46he used to start reading.
15:47Actually,
15:48you are channeling the child,
15:50you are channeling his reading habit,
15:53to go towards a specific type of books.
16:00But,
16:01unfortunately,
16:02the parents did not have time,
16:04for their children.
16:06So,
16:07that is why,
16:08we find it difficult to channel the child.
16:10But,
16:11wise parents,
16:12even in this passing time,
16:15take out some time for their children,
16:18and give it to them.
16:20So,
16:21we,
16:22for the children,
16:23the reading,
16:24first of all,
16:25is to develop a reading habit.
16:27Then,
16:28in a specific direction,
16:30the way we want to take the child,
16:32we channel it.
16:34And,
16:35we will channel it,
16:36in a way,
16:37that,
16:38the type of books,
16:39which are easily accessible to the child,
16:41the child,
16:42will start reading those books.
16:44Then,
16:45in those books,
16:46the child's taste will develop.
16:50If,
16:51you want,
16:52the child,
16:55to have a very extensive experience,
16:58then,
16:59we have a lot of good travelogues,
17:01which are written.
17:02Hmm.
17:03I am a very big fan of Dosa Ayyawan.
17:07Mustansar Hussain.
17:08Tarar sahib.
17:10Mustansar Hussain.
17:11Tarar sahib.
17:12I am a big fan of him.
17:14I have almost all the books,
17:16in my library.
17:19Dosa,
17:20Kamar sahib,
17:21who was the director of Radio Pakistan,
17:25he wrote a lot of travelogues.
17:28So,
17:29these travelogues,
17:32those people,
17:33have a lot of experience.
17:37Similarly,
17:39the autobiographies,
17:42see,
17:44Feroz Khan Nun sahib's book,
17:47I have read it somewhere in 66, 67.
17:51Oh.
17:52The Momads.
17:53Yes.
17:55Even today,
17:56I remember many extracts of it.
17:59Even after so much time has passed.
18:03Similarly,
18:04I have read the autobiographies of other people.
18:08Their whole life,
18:10the 60-70 years they spent in this world,
18:15they were surrounded by
18:18hard work,
18:23difficulties,
18:26and how they faced them.
18:29All these 70-year-old experiences,
18:31which come to you in 1000-1500 rupees,
18:35so whatever they worked hard for 70 years,
18:38learned by working hard,
18:40we learn by giving 1500 rupees.
18:46These are very valuable things.
18:50So,
18:51personally,
18:52if you ask me,
18:55these books,
18:56I have liked these books for a long time.
19:02Travelogues,
19:04and Autobiographies.
19:07These are my favorite books.
19:09Oh.
19:10I will read any of them.
19:14I read them with great interest.
19:17So,
19:19there is a bend of the mind in this.
19:22When we read them continuously,
19:24there is a bend.
19:27That is very important for us.
19:31So, I always tell people,
19:36that at such a low cost,
19:38if we get the experience of someone's 70-year life,
19:42then the deal is not bad.
19:46Mr. Shah, please allow me to take a break.
19:48I will come back to you after the break.
19:50The children who say a lot,
19:52they say,
19:53in that regard,
19:54as you have said about the Marut Tat Salaat,
19:56that there are many classics,
19:58on which a film was made,
20:00a drama was made.
20:01So, they say,
20:02what should I read that book?
20:04I have seen that drama,
20:05or I have seen that film.
20:07So, my work is done.
20:09No,
20:10we too,
20:11in our youth,
20:14saw many such films,
20:17whose books we had read.
20:22For example,
20:23there was a book,
20:24Dambusters.
20:26Now,
20:27this book,
20:28I think,
20:29I must have read it in 1972-73.
20:32After that,
20:33this movie came.
20:34So,
20:35I went to see it.
20:38See,
20:39the book I had read,
20:41how they picturized it.
20:46I found out that
20:47apart from the basic things,
20:49everything else has changed.
20:52And,
20:53about that,
20:54I understood one thing later.
20:57Our respected,
21:00and very favorite,
21:04writer,
21:05Mamtaz Mufti,
21:08he wrote an article.
21:12In that,
21:14the drawing room of our house,
21:18he made it a real space.
21:22So,
21:23I went to Sir Faraz Shah's house.
21:27So,
21:28it was like an old sitting room.
21:31He was accused of the drawing room.
21:34It was old,
21:35very simple furniture.
21:38There were two or four chairs.
21:40So,
21:41this was the drawing room.
21:44It was published.
21:47So,
21:48it went through Begum Sahiba's eyes.
21:50Begum Sahiba was shocked
21:52that Mamtaz Mufti Sahib
21:54wrote about my house.
21:57So,
21:58Mamtaz Mufti Sahib came.
22:00So,
22:01Begum Sahiba said to him,
22:03Mufti Sahib,
22:04you have done this injustice.
22:06The drawing room of my house,
22:09what have you written about it?
22:12So,
22:13I said to him,
22:14what is wrong in it?
22:16It is true.
22:18But,
22:19Mamtaz Mufti Sahib gave a very good answer.
22:21This is the difference
22:22between an illiterate man
22:24and an educated writer.
22:26Mamtaz Mufti Sahib said,
22:28that,
22:31these are such things,
22:33you have to write for the beauty of writing.
22:39So,
22:40when we read a book,
22:43based on that book,
22:45if it is a drama
22:46or a film,
22:48so,
22:49for the interest,
22:51many things
22:53are added.
22:56So,
22:57you will enjoy both.
22:59When you read a book,
23:01you enjoy it.
23:02When you watch a movie
23:04based on that book,
23:07you enjoy it even more.
23:12Isn't there something in it,
23:14that impresses me?
23:16That is,
23:17a book gives a lot of air
23:19to your imagination.
23:21Because,
23:22in it,
23:23the things,
23:25that is,
23:26the way the picture is drawn,
23:28it is in the form of words.
23:30When you read it,
23:31you are making up your mind.
23:33There,
23:34when you watch it in a cinema
23:36or a drama,
23:37so,
23:38the director,
23:39according to his thinking,
23:41draws a picture of it.
23:43So,
23:44the flight of imagination
23:45is not in the same way
23:47as it is in the form of a book.
23:49You are absolutely right.
23:52I had said this a while ago,
23:55that there is a difference
23:57between an educated person
23:59and me.
24:00An educated person,
24:01look,
24:02what beautiful words
24:03you have described.
24:05Our mind gets a lot of space.
24:08The stretch of imagination
24:10of our mind,
24:11that increases a lot.
24:13And what is more beautiful
24:15than that is that,
24:16if it is a healthy book,
24:19then our daily lives
24:21will become healthier,
24:23gradually.
24:25Because,
24:26we are influenced
24:27by what we read.
24:29So,
24:30the bands of the mind
24:31are those
24:32that start to follow
24:33that book.
24:34So,
24:35our views
24:36start to become very healthy.
24:38There are many views.
24:41You read a book
24:42based on human behavior.
24:46A strange change
24:47will come in your mind.
24:50Your thinking will change.
24:53That you will not be
24:54judgmental about anyone.
24:58You will not express your opinion
25:00by looking at someone
25:02superficially.
25:05In fact,
25:06your behavior will be
25:07that he is a human being.
25:11He has his own personality.
25:13He has his own personality.
25:15God has given him
25:16a nature.
25:19So, if he is behaving like this,
25:21then he is behaving
25:22according to his nature.
25:23What is his fault?
25:25Now, this will become
25:26a very positive approach.
25:28You give someone
25:29an allowance
25:30to be a human being.
25:33So,
25:34your reactions
25:35are not very strong.
25:37There is a stagnation
25:38in that.
25:42So, these books
25:43take a person
25:44from one place to another.
25:45In the beginning,
25:46what used to happen
25:47was that
25:50when I read a little
25:51in my childhood,
25:52my parents
25:53gave me
25:54Gulistan-e-Sadi,
25:55Bustan-e-Sadi.
25:56They gave me that.
25:58Even if it was
25:59in the form of translation,
26:00I knew how to read
26:01Farsi as well.
26:02But,
26:03in the form of stories,
26:05moral values
26:06are taught to a person.
26:09He is learning
26:10the language as well.
26:12He is also having
26:13an imagination.
26:15He is also learning
26:16the morals as well.
26:18From there,
26:19he moves forward
26:20in an orderly manner.
26:22So,
26:23his importance
26:24is obviously
26:25very high.
26:27See,
26:28you started
26:29from the point
26:30where
26:31standard 8
26:32and above
26:33have gone.
26:34Yes, yes.
26:35It must have started
26:36when you were
26:37three years old.
26:39Your parents,
26:42especially your mother,
26:44were sitting with you
26:45and reading comics.
26:47In the beginning,
26:48she would tell you
26:49and then teach you.
26:51Later,
26:52you started reading
26:53by yourself.
26:54After that,
26:55in a time,
26:56in the next stage,
26:58there used to be
26:59magazines in Urdu.
27:01I remember one of them
27:02was called
27:03Phalwari.
27:04Yes, Phalwari.
27:06The other one
27:07was called Khilona.
27:09These two magazines
27:10were very famous.
27:12This was the age
27:13of five years.
27:15From there,
27:16one would read.
27:17There were
27:18very beautiful stories
27:19in those magazines
27:20which would
27:21keep the interest
27:22of the child alive.
27:23After that,
27:24slowly,
27:25towards other books,
27:27as the child grows,
27:29the parents
27:30would follow
27:31and raise
27:32the level
27:33of their children's books.
27:35Then,
27:36there comes a time
27:37when the child
27:38becomes independent.
27:39He himself starts
27:40selecting books
27:42of his choice.
27:45Our concept is this.
27:47In fact,
27:48the concept is
27:49an obsession.
27:50My child should
27:51always have a textbook
27:52in his hand.
27:54He should always
27:55look like he is reading.
27:58Now,
27:59I find my child's
28:00personality to be
28:01very imbalanced
28:02if this is my desire.
28:04As long as
28:05I don't give him
28:06a free environment
28:08to play with
28:09my younger children,
28:11his personality
28:13will remain
28:14incomplete.
28:17He will never
28:19develop a sportsman
28:20spirit.
28:23He will not have
28:24the passion
28:25to tolerate
28:26defeat
28:27with a happy
28:28and cheerful
28:29life.
28:31He will never
28:32develop a team
28:33spirit.
28:35He will fail
28:36in teamwork.
28:39So,
28:40these are very
28:41important qualities
28:42for success
28:43in life
28:44that a child
28:45should have
28:46in every situation.
28:47These qualities
28:48will only come
28:49when he is
28:50playing
28:51freely
28:52with his
28:53younger children.
28:57Then,
28:58there is
28:59another thing
29:00that will
29:01help
29:02his mind
29:03to follow
29:04a specific
29:05track.
29:06It is
29:07adopting
29:08a hobby.
29:10So,
29:11when he gets
29:12a hobby,
29:14his mind
29:15will not
29:16go to
29:17other things
29:18and he
29:19will not
29:20focus on
29:21wrong things.
29:22He will
29:23develop a
29:24very healthy
29:25personality.
29:26So,
29:28these are
29:29his other
29:30qualities.
29:57And,
29:58I have seen
29:59that people
30:00work very
30:01peacefully.
30:02They do
30:03their work
30:04on time.
30:05So,
30:06why did this
30:07problem
30:08come to
30:09us?
30:10And,
30:11what can
30:12be the
30:13solution
30:14to this?
30:15In
30:16response
30:17to your
30:18question,
30:19we have
30:20another
30:21person
30:22from your
30:23media.
30:24He was
30:25a very
30:26famous
30:27person.
30:28He
30:29was
30:30a very
30:31famous
30:32person.
30:33He
30:34was
30:35a very
30:36famous
30:37person.
30:38He
30:39was
30:40a very
30:41famous
30:42person.
30:43He
30:44was
30:45a very
30:46famous
30:47person.
30:48He
30:49was
30:50a very
30:51famous
30:52person.
30:53He
30:54was
30:55very
30:56famous
30:57person.
30:58He
30:59was
31:00very
31:01famous
31:02person.
31:03He
31:04was
31:05a very
31:06famous
31:07person.
31:08He
31:10was
31:11a very
31:12famous
31:13person.
31:14I
31:15told him
31:16that
31:18I
31:19can do
31:20a lot
31:21of
31:22things
31:23for you
31:24The man was saved by inches.
31:28So, they said to each other that this man was in a hurry,
31:35but as a result of that hurry, he put his life in danger.
31:41So, Allah blessed him, the man was saved by inches.
31:45So, when the traffic started, the road was open,
31:50they crossed the railway line and saw the same man
31:54who was sitting in a crowd.
31:59That man was standing there and watching the scene.
32:03Wow, wow, wow.
32:05Now, we don't have speed in us.
32:11We are not in a hurry either.
32:16This is somewhere in the back of our mind,
32:21that I should move ahead of others.
32:24Thank you very much, Mr. Shah.
