00:19This was emphasized by House Committee on Good Government and Public Accountability Chairperson,

00:24Representative Joel Chua, in response to Vice President Sara Duterte's continued stay

00:29at the House of Representatives beyond visiting hours.

00:33The Vice President visited her chief of staff, Atty. Zuleika Lopez, who was cited in contempt

00:38during the ongoing House investigation into the utilization of the OVP's confidential fund.

00:44Lack of respect in the institution.

00:46Chua stressed that officials must be mindful of their actions, as this reflect their character.

01:16He also noted that Duterte's presence as a high-profile individual posed a security

01:20risk for the lower house.

01:22According to House Sergeant-at-Arms Napoleon Taas, after the visiting hours, Duterte remained

01:27in her brother, Representative Paulo Duterte's office, even though the electricity supply

01:31was turned off after the office hours.

01:34Still and all, she stayed overnight.

01:35Earlier, Chua said the Vice President sent a letter requesting to stay with Lopez in

01:40detention citing humanitarian reasons, but this was denied as she was not a detainee.

01:45When asked what steps would be taken if the Vice President continued to stay at the House

01:49of Representatives, the Sergeant-at-Arms said they would continue to appeal to her, noting

01:54that there is no penalty clause in their security guidelines.

02:17The House leadership expressed concern over the Vice President's actions, emphasizing

02:21how the House of Representatives has its own rules and is not a place for anyone to

02:25abuse.

02:26The next committee hearing on the OBP's use of confidential funds is scheduled for Monday,

02:31the last day of Attorney Lopez's detention, as ordered by the committee.
