00:00You have said one quote that seek light, see light and then be light.
00:13I was reading the Krishnamurti's book, there was one line that seeking is a kind of self-expansion
00:21and it's an escape and you cannot get freedom out of it, so I was confused.
00:28When Krishnamurti is saying seeking is an extension of self-centered activity, he is
00:37talking of the stuff that you usually seek.
00:45Krishnamurti is not talking to those who seek light.
00:52People seek darkness and its various shades.
01:02Here are the people and they are seeking darkness and its various hues and shades.
01:09Krishnamurti's way is to tell them don't seek.
01:12My way is to tell them seek light.
01:17Because people are usually seeking only darkness.
01:21So Krishnamurti comes and tells them don't seek.
01:24What he means is don't seek darkness.
01:28I come and say seek light.
01:30Why do I say seek light?
01:31Because I know that seeking is a habit with you.
01:34If I just keep saying don't seek, don't seek, that would not fulfill you.
01:39Because in your deepest identity, you have taken yourself as incomplete.
01:45If you are incomplete in your own eyes, then you will seek.
01:51You cannot be prevented or banished from seeking.
01:55No amount of good advice is going to work.
02:00In fact, it would be a disaster.
02:04If you remain inwardly incomplete and yet put on a pretense of not seeking.
02:12That is called Tamsa.
02:16Inwardly you take yourself, you continue to take yourself as incomplete and outwardly
02:24you follow the commandment of not seeking.
02:27Now not only are you incomplete.
02:32Your incompleteness will become cemented.
02:38It will become immortal.
02:40Do you see this?
02:44You are incomplete within and yet it has become a thing of fashion with you to say, oh, I
02:53do not seek anything.
02:54I do not want anything.
02:59So you do not change.
03:03You do not seek anything.
03:04You do not want anything.
03:05So there is no change.
03:09So what does not change?
03:13The incompleteness within.
03:14It becomes permanent.
03:20I say you will not stop seeking.
03:27Seeking will continue.
03:30It is your most fundamental restlessness that seeks.
03:33You will seek.
03:34I cannot prevent you from seeking.
03:38And if you don't seek, you will become a hypocrite.
03:42So I just channelize your seeking.
03:45I say seek light.
03:48I do not say don't seek.
03:49I say seek light.
03:50But obviously all of that must be done with a lot of caution.
04:15And the great inclination towards darkness, if you start seeking light, then your so-called
04:21light will just be an extension of darkness.
04:27And Krishnamurti has repeatedly emphasized on this.
04:30He says if you seek light, it would be just another form of darkness.
04:38And he is right on the money.
04:42What he is saying is exact and precise.
04:48But such is the human condition.
04:50On one hand, there is a great danger that if you seek light, you will seek the wrong
04:56kind of light.
04:57You will just seek darkness disguised as light.
05:00On the other hand, there is the equally dark option of not seeking at all.
05:08Between these two possibilities, I prefer the possibility of seeking light with all
05:14its associated dangers.
05:19There are a lot of dangers associated with seeking light.
05:23Because the ego does not like light.
05:25It will seek some false kind of light.
05:30But that is still better than not seeking at all.
05:47Isn't it better to die fighting in the battle than not fight at all?
