00:00Not only good in sports, but also in making vlogs.
00:07From their training tips, behind the scenes moments,
00:10to personal life.
00:12We will follow that here in Sports Vlog.
00:15Let's watch this.
00:30Hi guys, welcome back to my channel.
00:40If you're new here, hi, I'm Aga Thong and I'm a Philippine national athlete.
00:45For today's video, we're going to be doing a Q&A.
00:48A few days ago, I posted on IG stories and I asked you guys to send in your questions.
00:54I have here right now my iPad.
00:56As you can see, I received a lot. I'm not gonna lie.
01:01I don't know how we're gonna do this.
01:04Obviously, I won't be able to answer everything.
01:06I will try to be as fair as I can.
01:09I won't try to be picky.
01:11For the first question, what's my age?
01:13I'm 23 years old.
01:15I turn 24 next year.
01:18Diet and workout routine, please.
01:20To be honest, I just try to work out every day.
01:23I entered some phases in my life where I was just working out most of the day.
01:28I'm not licensed to tell you guys anything, but that's bad for you.
01:32Based on my experience, that's really bad.
01:34Don't judge me on my diet.
01:36I'm not gonna lie, my diet may be restrictive for some people.
01:39I'm not saying this is how you should eat.
01:41But then again, it's just a question.
01:43They're just asking me my diet.
01:46I rarely drink anything flavored.
01:49If it's a juice or a shake,
01:51energy drinks, milk tea, what else?
01:55The only thing I drink is water and coconut water.
01:59I'm very acne prone.
02:00My skin is very sensitive.
02:02So whenever I drink something with sugar, I break out.
02:05As in the next day.
02:06Sometimes, within a day, my pimples come out.
02:09I'm not really a fast food junkie.
02:11And I'm also not a junk food junkie.
02:14If you're not a national athlete, what would you be doing?
02:17And what are your dreams?
02:19If I wasn't doing sports, I think I would be studying.
02:21And just expanding my knowledge.
02:23I like a challenge.
02:25What motivates you to exercise?
02:27Nothing, just discipline.
02:28I know that you guys have seen my posts.
02:30And it looks like I like exercising.
02:32But most of the time, it's not the case.
02:34I end up being lazy.
02:36I end up complaining.
02:37I end up really swearing under my breath while I'm exercising.
02:42As an athlete, I know that I have to love working out.
02:45I have to love sweating.
02:46I have to love dying.
02:49But I'm not like that.
02:50I'm gonna be real with you guys.
02:52I don't love it 100%.
02:54But I do it because I love my sport.
02:56Where do you get your money from? Mother or father?
02:59If you look at my siblings.
03:00My brother, he's very tall.
03:02His features come from my mom.
03:04My mom's more American.
03:05My dad's very Chinese.
03:07My baby sister got that.
03:08So if you look at my sister.
03:10My sister has very light brown curly hair.
03:13And then she has very chinky eyes.
03:15I look in between.
03:16Like a Filipina that you can't understand.
03:18That you might think it's a different race but you can't pinpoint it.
03:22But most people think I'm Chinese.
03:24And then some people think I'm Spanish.
03:26So I think it's subjective.
03:27So this will be the last question.
03:29How to make the jumps higher?
03:31I think she's referring to wushu jumps.
03:33What I did before I was diagnosed with the slip disc was I always did heavy weights.
03:38And my coach always pushed me to go beyond what I think my limits were.
03:43And this is very important.
03:45Repetitiveness.
03:46Repetitiveness is so important in trying to accomplish a certain skill.
03:50I even remember the time I had this one coach.
03:54I think my class was like at 11.20.
03:56Then I think it was 10.30.
03:58So we were about to finish.
03:59Then my coach got mad at me because I couldn't do this jump.
04:02He said, you do this jump 50 times.
04:04And I was like, what?
04:06And I was surprised because I have no problem with that.
04:10But I had a knee injury and he knew that.
04:13I guess the moral of the story here is if you know that you can't do it.
04:18And you know that your body can't do it.
04:20You should be very vocal about it.
04:22To make jumps higher.
04:23Repetitiveness.
04:24Of course, within your own body's limits.
04:26Heavy weights.
04:27And just a lot of...
04:28Just train a lot.
04:30Forgive my look right now.
04:32I wanted to answer some more questions.
04:35Because I think that these kinds of questions are just something that I've always wanted to answer.
04:40Because a lot of people ask these.
04:42It's just really fun.
04:43And why not?
04:44Right?
04:45So...
04:46Sorry if the lighting's...
04:47Sorry...
04:48Sorry if the lighting's really crazy right now.
04:51How do you deal with bashers?
04:52Come to think of it, do you?
04:54To my knowledge, I don't really notice the bashers.
04:57To be honest, I don't really notice them.
05:00The majority of the people that comment on my posts or that follow me are really the people who support me as an athlete.
05:07And just as Agatha.
05:10Who's your sports BFF?
05:11Sports BFF?
05:12The one who asked this was Jamie Lim.
05:15SEA Games gold medalist in Karate.
05:17Pretty funny story.
05:18We actually met in 2019.
05:20In the closing ceremony of the SEA Games, we met in a bathroom.
05:23And I was looking for a stall in the bathroom.
05:25And she just happened to help me find a stall.
05:27And I was like, okay, thank you.
05:29And then the next event that we met was in a Resorts World event.
05:34So the president of Resorts World invited me, Jamie, and Heidelin Diaz to go dine with them.
05:40That's where we became very, very well acquainted.
05:42And then over the pandemic, we built our friendship because we started this whole fundraiser.
05:47And then we started just telling each other our stories.
05:50The media came on to us.
05:51They started asking, when did you two become close?
05:54Like, are you two best friends?
05:55Because there's this whole connection that you two have.
05:58We're really comfortable with each other.
06:00Those are the kinds of friendships.
06:01You don't really expect them from the people that you actually just met in a bathroom in the Manila Arena for SEA Games, you know?
06:09Till now, she's one of my friends that I really, really tell everything to.
06:14And I'm so lucky to have her.
06:16So I love you, Jamie, and I miss you.
06:18Okay, next.
06:19Was there a time that made you feel you wanted to stop practicing wushu?
06:23Yeah, there were lots of times.
06:24I think it was in college because college was the time we get to socialize and stuff like that.
06:29Most of my time in college, I just really wished I had more time in the day to rest.
06:35But I didn't really have that.
06:36What's the hardest thing you had to sacrifice for your wushu career?
06:39Honestly, it was my time and, I guess, my freedom.
06:43I had to sacrifice most of my time for my friends.
06:45Every time they would ask me,
06:47Hey, Agatha, do you wanna go out or something like that?
06:50I always had to say, I can't.
06:52Training.
06:53That's all for my Q&A.
06:55Sorry, guys.
06:56I just feel like this video is all over the place.
06:58But I hope that I answered some of your questions.
07:01So this concludes our Q&A.
07:04If you guys liked this video, give it a thumbs up.
07:06And I'll see you guys on my next video.
07:08Bye!
