Our LoveYour campaign has been launched to celebrate the amazing local businesses, people, places and the quirks which make Liverpool so amazing. With that in mind, I'd like to contribute my own personal love letter to our wonderful city, to share the things that I love most about Liverpool.

00:00From the friendly faces and green spaces to the pub crawlers and independent owners, what
00:07do you love most about Liverpool?
00:09Aimed at bringing communities together over a shared love of our city, the Love Your campaign
00:14seeks to highlight all the things we are rightly proud of in our city.
00:19With that in mind, I'd like to share my own personal love letter to Liverpool.
00:22These are just a few of the reasons why I love our city so much.
00:27And what else makes a place but the people?
00:29Doing my job, I'm lucky enough to be out and about speaking to a diverse group of people
00:34from all walks of life on an almost daily basis.
00:36Our humour and quick-wittedness never makes a dull day.
00:40That's one of the reasons I love what I do so much.
00:43The strength, tenacity and drive of those campaigners, leaders and ordinary men and
00:48women is something to be proud of.
00:50There are over 2,500 acres of park and open spaces in our city, but my personal favourite
00:56park has to be Sefton.
00:57The 200-acre site has a lake, cafes, tennis courts, playgrounds.
01:02I can spend hours here just getting lost in nature, despite how many times I've visited.
01:06The farmhouse nestled in the ground of the park also provides a welcome warming relief
01:11from the cold in the winter and there's just something about being surrounded by that botanic
01:16collection that really gets the air in your lungs.
01:19They say food is a way to a man's heart and to that I say it's also the way to mine.
01:24We have so many great local independent restaurants in the city which deserve recognition from
01:28the food markets, takeaways, everything in between.
01:32Liverpool is home to the longest established Chinese community in Europe.
01:36It's almost 200 years later we can see the impact of this immigration on the city's Chinatown.
01:42We are a city renowned for our historic architecture with film and TV shows being shot here.
01:47Our city is rightly famous for our skyline, dominated by the Three Graces.
01:52My favourite building in the city has to be Liverpool Cathedral.
01:55It's the largest cathedral in the UK, one of the biggest in the world and there's just
01:59something about it's always intimidating gothic presence which I just find captivating.
02:06As part of Love Your, to highlight the reasons why we love Liverpool, we have been on the
02:10streets of the city to ask what your favourite spot is and why you love it.
02:16I love the walk to Watterspool.
02:19It's really nice on a day like this.
02:21It's picturesque.
02:23You can have one or two stopping off points along the way.
02:27It's not that far and it's just, I think, very good for you.
02:34Where I was born and brought up, St Domingo Road, Everton, Everton Brow, the original
02:45Gracie Market.
02:46And I love going down the river and seeing all the yachts.
02:49It's like as though you're abroad.
02:51It really is nice, yes.
02:53The Royal Court is doing a fantastic thing for Sir Ken Dodd.
