00:00What do you get when you cross the richest man in the world, a Fox News reporter and a Baptist
00:04preacher? The US government apparently. President-elect Donald Trump has been appointing his
00:09White House team and the choices are proving pretty controversial. First up is the billionaire
00:14tech and space mogul Elon Musk. He'll be co-leading a newly created Department of Government Efficiency
00:21with former Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy. It's the kind of typically
00:26eye-catching, head-spinning announcement that Trump likes to indulge in. It also raises a
00:32big question about Musk's many business interests and his many contracts with the US government,
00:36particularly in space. Next on Trump's list is Fox News correspondent Pete Hegseth. He's
00:42been appointed as Defence Secretary. He's a combat veteran, having served in Iraq and
00:46Afghanistan, but nobody really saw coming to take over what is one of the most important
00:52spoiling bureaucracies in the federal government. Another controversial choice has been Trump's
00:57decision to appoint former governor of Arkansas Mike Huckabee as the US ambassador to Israel.
01:03What's intriguing there and alarming to the Palestinians is that Huckabee, who is also a
01:11Baptist preacher and an ardent supporter of Israel, he is what he calls an unapologetic Zionist who
01:18doesn't even think that there is such a thing as Palestinians as an ethnic group and can be
01:24expected to ruffle feathers in the Middle East. Trump is expected to select more people to his
01:29team within the coming days. We're expecting a further announcement potentially on Florida
01:33Senator Marco Rubio as the Secretary of State. There are some other picks we're still waiting to
01:40find out about, Treasury Secretary notably. That pick, along with others in the economic
01:47side of the government, will be in charge of enacting Trump's very controversial pledge to
01:52impose sweeping tariffs on all imports into the US and that's something that we in the UK
01:58are watching very nervously to see how that might impact trade.
