00:00Almost 1,000 barangays in Isabela are being closely monitored
00:04due to the possible flooding and landslides caused by Hurricane Nika.
00:08This is April Jane Racho of Radyo Pilipinas with the national news.
00:16The continuous experience of rain and strong winds in the province of Isabela,
00:21especially in its coastal municipalities, is also due to Hurricane Nika.
00:25According to the Minds and Geosciences Bureau, MGB Region 2,
00:29988 barangays are being closely monitored in the province
00:33due to the possible flooding and landslides.
00:36These barangays are from all the towns and cities in the province.
00:40The Valley Regional Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council Chair
00:44and Office of Civil Defense Region 2 Director, Leon Rafael,
00:48has issued a priority consideration in preparing for the saturation of the land
00:54and the rapid flow of water due to the upcoming storm.
00:58That is why the coastal towns were forced to make a roll-call
01:03to notify their constituents
01:07to be prepared and to avoid the possible dangers brought by the storm.
01:11Before this, they have also helped the Philippine Coast Guard personnel
01:16and residents in hauling and transporting to a safe place on the boats
01:21of the coastal towns.
01:23Due to the tropical cyclone wind signal throughout the province,
01:27the provincial government is strictly prohibiting the sale of any type of sea vehicle,
01:33fishing, fishing, and other activities in the rivers and seas.
