00:00Environment Secretary Maria Antonia Lulo Loizaga will head delegation on an official mission to Baku, Azerbaijan
00:08for the 29th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change.
00:14Secretary Loizaga conveyed cautious optimism as the Philippine delegation aimed to build prior commitments and establish new ones.
00:22Together with other countries, they will work to set a new global climate change finance target for 2025.
00:28As a result, the Department of Environment and National Resources, or DENR, Chief, highlighted the significance of COP29 in addressing funding shortfalls for climate action.
00:40The Philippine government, via the Technical Working Group, is collaborating closely with the Fund's board co-chairs to finalize the host country agreement,
00:50which will grant the board the essential privileges and immunities for efficient functioning.
