00:00Kagen Valley DRRMC ordered the implementation of pre-emptive evacuation

00:06in flood-prone and landslide-prone areas due to the Marseille storm.

00:11Oliver Bacay of the Philippine Information Agency has news for the country.

00:16Because of the following storms that passed through Northern Luzon,

00:23the land is already very soft,

00:25which can cause landslides and quickly raise the water level in the rivers.

00:30Because of this, the Regional Disaster Reduction and Management Council issued an order

00:36to all local DRRMC to carry out pre-emptive evacuation,

00:41especially in the areas near Kagen River and in flood-prone areas,

00:45as well as in mountainous areas.

00:47We always remind our local counterparts,

00:51the different local DRRMOs,

00:53to prioritize pre-emptive evacuation,

00:57especially when the rain and wind of the Marseille storm is strong.

01:03At the moment, the areas passed by Christine, Julian, and Leon are being closely monitored

01:09because of the Marseille storm.

01:12The town of Calayan in Cagayan and the coastal communities in Isabela

01:16and the other parts of Cagayan province are experiencing

01:20landslides until the rain and wind are strong.

01:24We have to be careful,

01:26especially when the wind is strong.

01:28Because of this, all the DRRMOs have to be careful.

01:35Behind me is Pinakanawan River,

01:38one of the tributaries of Cagayan River.

01:41It is being monitored at the moment

01:43because if it floods,

01:45many areas here in Tuguegarao and other parts of Cagayan

01:48will be flooded.
