00:00When we see terrible crimes like rapes, mass murders, lynchings etc happening so openly,
00:14we wonder where that benevolent God is.
00:20He could have easily prevented all of it.
00:23He is supposed to be omnipotent, yet he does nothing.
00:28My question is not whether there is God or not, my question is why is he so very absent
00:37when people need him the most?
00:41If you really need the truth, truth is at your service.
00:51If there are rapes, then in your own eyes, rape is what you need.
00:59Does the rapist need God?
01:00No, he needs flesh.
01:02He gets flesh.
01:06Mass murders, does the murderer need God?
01:10No, he needs revenge or whatever, exploitation.
01:15He gets it.
01:18Same with other things.
01:22You would say, but what if the exploited one, raped one, murdered one needs God?
01:30If the one who has been exploited or tortured is really God-loving, in God, full of Godliness,
01:43then all these events that happen to him or her mean exactly zero to him.
01:52There is no guarantee at all that an extremely Godly woman will never be raped.
02:00That can happen.
02:01It has happened several times in history.
02:03It happens maybe all around us, all the time.
02:06There is no guarantee that an extremely Godly person will never be assaulted, insulted or
02:13tortured or murdered.
02:15That can happen.
02:17But it would mean nothing at all to that person.
02:22Others may make stories and draw their own conclusions and those conclusions would always
02:30be like, see, such a Godly person and yet he had to face such a dastardly end.
02:42That's not what the experience or observation of that killed or raped person is.
02:52There is no guarantee ever in life.
02:57One does not turn spiritual in order to obtain guarantees regarding one's experiences or
03:07events in life.
03:08Anything can happen to anybody.
03:10The most Godly persons in history have often died very violent or very ordinary deaths.
03:19They have been killed, murdered, beheaded, publicly executed, stoned, you name it, you
03:28have instances.
03:33In fact, the crucifixion of Christ forms the basis of all Christianity.
03:41So all those things can happen to anybody but is Christ wondering why it is happening
03:48to him?
03:49It doesn't look like.
03:52If Christ is really Godly, those events won't have mattered much to him.
04:00Are you getting it?
04:06The murderer murders because he is Godless.
04:12The rapist rapes because he is Godless.
04:17The raped one might actually not be raped in spite of being physically raped if she
04:27is Godly.
04:30The murdered one might never be killed in spite of being physically killed because the
04:37Godly one becomes immortal.
04:42It's not the business of truth to intervene in your daily affairs like some headmaster
04:49or police constable.
04:55Another name for God is freedom and truth stands for absolute freedom.
05:04You have all the freedom to live the way you please.
05:08You may live in a Godly way, you may live in a totally ungodly way, your choice.
05:15It's just that there is something inside you that's absolutely crazy for Godliness and
05:22if you keep it deprived, it will not let you live, sleep or die in peace.
05:36This entire concept of a benevolent, omnipotent God is quite childish, keep it aside.
05:47God is neither benevolent nor malevolent, neither full of pity nor full of spite.
06:02God is an absolute giver, he has given you absolute freedom, God is an absolute.
06:08What you do with that freedom is your business.
06:14It's just that if you misuse your freedom, then the results are for you to bear.
06:25Similarly, the myth of that omnipotent God.
06:31God is not omnipotent in the same sense that people on the earth have potency or power.
06:45It's again quite a childish concept to say God can do anything, God is omnipotent.
06:52God does not do anything, God is a non-doer, God is the ultimate non-doer.
06:58He has left the business of doing to you, all human beings.
07:06You do what you please because you are the ones hungry for attainment or hungry for liberation.
07:13What does God have to do with any doing?
07:16God is beyond all doing because God is beyond all desires.
07:22God did not even perform the basic doing of creating the universe.
07:28What else do you think he is going to do at all?
07:32No, God didn't create the universe.
07:36That too is a myth.
07:38Just as these things, God's benevolence, God's omnipotence are a myth, similarly that whole
07:44idea of the creator God is quite a myth.
07:51This world is Godliness itself, God or truth or center or that first thing manifests itself
08:03as the world.
08:04God is not some creator sitting elsewhere.
08:11God is very much in the creation itself.
08:18So even in the matter of the creation of universe, God does not quite do anything.
08:30He lets you do the doing, do this, do that, whatever, then you will say, oh, but then
08:42who created the sun, moon, earth and the stars?
08:45You did, not God.
08:47We did, but I don't quite remember creating the moon.
08:52Maybe my dad did.
08:54No, you create the moon every time you look at it.
08:59Yes, sir, you do.
09:02God didn't do that.
09:03You are creating the moon all the time.
09:07You create the sun every time you experience the warmth and radiance of the sun or you
09:12think about the sun.
09:15You create the entire universe.
09:18God doesn't.
09:21Then who created me?
09:23From where did I come?
09:24When you ask that question, then you are no more there.
09:28Ask that question attentively and you will find that neither the universe nor you remain.
09:36Now tell me, where is the universe that you are asking about?
09:42So these childish notions about God have to be exceeded.
09:48You cannot base your life with such a concept of God or godliness and if your life is based
09:57on such childish concepts, then your life will lack any maturity as the lives of most
10:04people anyway do.
10:06Now you know why we live such immature and kiddish lives?
10:10Because our very first principle is immature and kiddish.
10:15The principle of God.
10:17That's why I keep inviting people to Vedanta.
10:23That's where you keep God aside and meet truth.
10:28And you cannot meet truth till you have the holy God thing ruling your mind.
10:37In Vedanta, there is no God, there is truth.
10:43Yes, Ishwar is there, but that Ishwar does not have the pole position.
10:49That Ishwar is one of the things, in fact, related to Maya.
11:01So if you find the universe around you quite hellish, then do not bring God in between.
11:11None of God's business.
11:15It's your world.
11:16You mind it.
11:17You run it.
11:19You dissolve it.
