Lucas Bravo is showing a new side to himself in Mélanie Laurent's 'Freedom.' 00:29This role feels like such a departure from what we've seen from you before on screen.
00:34I used to, you know, just read a script and be like, oh, oh, it sounds nice to be like a
00:40firefighter or to be a pilot. Now I just, I just, I just want to be moved by the script.
00:46And when I read Libre, I, I was crying at the end of it and I was like, oh,
00:52this is what it feels like to be deeply touched by a story. I'd never heard of him before.
00:59And when Mélanie brought him to my attention, I started,
01:02you know, searching and it's just fascinating the things he did.
01:05While he spent four seasons playing Chef Gabriel in Emily in Paris,
01:09his new role requires a bit more intense action,
01:12with the actor doing a lot of his own stunts and even breaking a few bones along the way.
01:17I don't want to say too much, but there's a scene where I'm falling from a building and as I'm
01:21falling, I'm supposed to fall back backwards and I'm supposed to turn because my face needed to be
01:27facing the camera. So we could see that I was, I had been beaten up. And as I'm,
01:33as I'm falling and I'm trying to twist, I, I started like just, just diving my head first
01:41into this giant mattress, but I was falling from such a height that
01:46as a reflex, I put my arms first and my, my arms can kind of went, you know,
01:50backwards and my shoulder was, was gone. And it was at the beginning,
01:54first week of shooting. So we pushed that falling scene to the end of shoot.
01:58And I spent the entire thing just with like bandages and pretending.
02:04Elsewhere, the star also opened up about his rapid rise to success since Emily in Paris
02:08and working with heavyweights like Julia Roberts and George Clooney,
02:12who he starred with in 2022's Ticket to Paradise.
02:15Bravo specifically shouted out the advice Clooney shared with him.
02:18You can be empathetic and generous and kind. Also in a scene, which is something I didn't know,
02:26he's so selfless. He's going to do everything he can to make you shine in the scene,
02:32even if he has to sacrifice some lines or moments of his character. And through that process,
02:37he's going to shine on his own. But it changed my, my, my approach to,
02:44to what it is to interact with someone in the scene.
02:47As for what we can expect from him in season five of Emily in Paris,
02:50the star couldn't give too much away, but praised the fandom
02:54for how much the Netflix series has connected with its audience.
02:57Having the opportunity to just escape for five hours in such a lighthearted show is always good.
03:05You know, we need the distraction. We need the escapism. So I think this is what this show
03:11provides.
