00:00On Halloween or the Eve of All Saints Day, over a hundred thousand individuals

00:04trek to the country's largest cemetery to pay their respects and indulge in

00:09solemn and prayerful remembrance of their departed loved ones. But law

00:13enforcement and Manila LGU officials were up to the task in keeping the

00:18crowds in place and keeping peace and order intact. Our Noel Talacay has the

00:23details. As Halloween or the Eve of All Saints Day wondered down today, the

00:30Manila Police District concluded it was generally peaceful despite over a

00:35hundred thousand cemetery goers went to Manila North Cemetery today.

00:40There were no reports of injuries and we are relieved that this day has passed.

00:45The PNP consistently imposed stricter security within and outside the vicinity

00:51of the cemetery the whole of Halloween or the Eve of All Saints Day. Over 400

00:57PNP personnel deployed today in Manila North Cemetery were on round-the-clock

01:02duty just so peace and order to be maintained in the cemetery. So far so

01:08good and we expect that it will be continuing. Free rides going

01:13inside the cemetery and wheelchairs were offered to visitors. Emergency response

01:19and medical team were also stationed all over the cemetery to ensure the

01:24safety of the children. Name and number tagging was implemented. Likewise, the

01:28security in the cemetery took away at least 600 pieces of prohibited or banned

01:35items or materials.

01:37We didn't get our alcohol. Of course, it's a necessity. We still have COVID-19 until now.

01:43So they should allow alcohol.

01:46With this, the PNP has a reminder

01:48to the public visiting Manila North Cemetery tomorrow.

01:52We hope to follow the directive of Manila City Hall

01:57to bring combustible materials and sharp objects.

02:02Today, more than a hundred thousand visitors went to Manila North Cemetery

02:06who paid respect to their loved ones. At exactly 7 o'clock tonight, the

02:12cemetery was temporarily closed to visitors. It will open to the public

02:17tomorrow at 5 in the morning.

02:20The Manila Police District and the management of Manila North Cemetery

02:23are expecting an influx of visitors tomorrow. That's why more police

02:28personnel will be deployed in the cemetery.
