00:00thousands of animals were either displaced or injured after Hurricane Celine and Milton hit
00:05Florida. Now, three weeks after Milton's landfall, dozens of them are getting released into the wild.
00:11AccuWeather correspondent Leslie Hudson is live in Palm Shores, Florida
00:16from a wildlife hospital that is spearheading the effort. Morning, Leslie.
00:21Hey, good morning to you, Bernie. Yeah, you know, in a typical year,
00:30this place takes in about 5,000 animals. During a hurricane, they can get hundreds of animals.
00:35We have some video from earlier in the month where they released about 60 animals that were
00:42directly impacted from Milton. That include owls and squirrels and turtles, all kinds of wildlife
00:49that were victims of Milton, got displaced from their homes, their own habitats were flooded out,
00:56and they recover here at this facility. So it's a great place to kind of get these animals back
01:02on their feet, so to speak. We're going to take a look at some of those animals coming up this
01:05morning, a really great cause that they do here, and we will have much more coming up. For now,
01:10we are reporting live in Palm Shores, Florida.
