00:08However, I believe that since we are one party,

00:13I believe there are also internal channels that perhaps YB Hassan Karim have not fully explored.

00:20PKR's new Secretary-General, Fuzia Saleh, has urged Pasir Gudang MP Hassan Karim to avoid making public statements.

00:29Instead, she said Hassan should raise his concerns through internal party channels before airing his views in public.

00:37If we can address his concerns using internal mechanisms,

00:42I'm sure we should do that rather than for him to go to the media and paint a picture that he's not being heard.

00:52It's okay to have different views. It's okay to disagree.

00:58But however, again, we must balance between internal channels of communication and making public.

01:08Fuzia said while PKR values diversity of thought, party discipline was paramount,

01:14and airing grievances publicly could lead to schism.

01:18Earlier this year, Hassan said he was ready to face disciplinary action if the party took offense to his outspoken views on various issues.

01:27However, Fuzia said PKR has no plans to take action against Hassan at the moment.

01:34Hassan has been a vocal critic of Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim's administration.

01:39More recently, he criticized Anwar, the PKR president, for the proposal to allow convicts to serve their sentences under house arrest.
