It is becoming clear, Antonion Pierce shouldn't be the Las Vegas Raiders head coach. Peter Klein explains why he has come to this conclusion while breaking down the Raiders loss vs. the Rams. He vents his frustration about the team's execution and decision-making as they get ready to face Patrick Mahomes and the Kansas City Chiefs.

00:00So, the Vegas Raiders fall to the LA Rams.
00:12The big story in this game is that Aiden O'Connell goes down with an injury.
00:16That shouldn't matter.
00:18Gardner Minshew, it was fun, he had the mustache, there was the pictures, all that stuff.
00:24He had this kind of, whoa, thing to him.
00:26He's not an NFL quarterback.
00:28That was, again, a dreadful performance against the Rams defense that should be there for
00:32the taking.
00:33You should not have to kick a late field goal just to get your 15th point of the game.
00:39There was absolutely, it's just, it is a bland offense with a quarterback who has some, like,
00:46location issues, zero pocket sense, all of it.
00:50It is just, it is so bad with the quarterback situation.
00:53And look, I don't think Aiden O'Connell's it, either.
00:56I am now at the point with this Raider team where you draft a quarterback this upcoming
00:59year.
01:00This is, I know all the time, I talk about you gotta get that foundation set and all
01:04of those things.
01:05I think the offensive line is maybe a little bit better, and you don't have Devontae Adams
01:10there to throw to anymore, but with Bowers and Myers and Tucker and Turner there, there's
01:15at least a couple of guys that you can get a little bit excited about right now, and
01:19I think you are not bringing a quarterback into the worst situation in the NFL, anyway.
01:25So I think that the time would be now to go out and make that move.
01:30As far as some of the other highlights from this game, I loved that field goal with three
01:36minutes left in the fourth quarter when you're down by eight.
01:40Not from a game play standpoint, but because I had Raiders plus seven from the pick-per-game
01:45on Friday, and they were down by eight, and so you kick a field goal, hey, covered the
01:50five, congratulations.
01:52From an actual, I-want-to-win-football-game standpoint, it was abysmal and just an embarrassing
01:58note to kick that field goal.
02:00I don't know how you can tell your offense that you are taking them seriously if you
02:04are having your quarterback have to watch as they kick a field goal in the red zone,
02:11down by eight.
02:12You still have to go down and get a touchdown anyway, and to then have to, like, it didn't
02:24make any sense to me.
02:25Sorry, I'm getting off, whatever, because I'm mixing a couple of rants together.
02:30You're down by eight, you kick a field goal, you still need to march down and get a touchdown.
02:35But it's not a two-possession game.
02:37Like you are there.
02:39Just try to get the touchdown.
02:40And I understand the thought of, um, well we have three timeouts, we, look, the Rams,
02:45they don't have Kupercup, they haven't really been able to move the ball, uh, let's just
02:48do that.
02:49This run defense couldn't stop a fucking thing, and so I don't know why they thought they
02:52could get the stops when they did.
02:54Then they didn't use the timeouts in the way that maybe you would want them to, although
02:57again, they weren't getting stops anyway, so put them in weird positions to try to use
03:01those timeouts, but regardless, the thought that this offense could kick that field goal,
03:09and then the defense is going to get a stop, and in a two-minute drill, they're gonna go
03:14out and do anything to move the ball down the field and get points AGAIN, is just, it's
03:21not happening.
03:22There's no read on the situation at all.
03:25Antonio Pierce, I think, has really established now that the Victory Cigars were fun, he brought
03:32a bit of a swagger back to the Raiders, and I was behind it.
03:34I was in on it.
03:36He had really kind of fooled me, duped me even, into thinking that this was a football
03:41team that had just better vibes now with Josh McDaniels, and look, it is easy to come in
03:47and have better vibes than Josh McDaniels, but I think Antonio Pierce has really shown
03:52now that when it comes to in-game management, when it comes to lineup decisions, when it
03:56comes to handling the media, it's fail, fail, fail.
04:01He doesn't know what he is doing, he is not an NFL coach, and you can bring in all the
04:04different advisors and whatever you want, it ain't working.
04:08And so, I'm just, I'm over it.
04:10You could bring in Robert Salah tomorrow, and I'd be fine with it, and I don't think
04:14he's that great of a coach either, but you want to bring someone in for the vibes of
04:18it or anything?
04:19At least he can kind of coach a defense a little bit.
04:22And seeing people this week, and honestly I've been seeing it for a bit, seeing people
04:26make the joke, oh yeah, just draft Shadur Sanders, bring in Dion as the head coach and
04:30see what happens.
04:31And honestly at this point, sure.
04:33Just go with it.
04:34At this point, honestly, I don't even care.
04:37It's just, it is not working, he doesn't have any of the answers to help this team out,
04:41and he has now, I think, by a significant margin, cost this team more than he has helped
04:47them.
04:48But aside from that, everything's great with the Las Vegas Raiders.
