00:00Last night, 47 Filipinos returned to the Philippines
00:04who availed of Voluntary Repatriation because of the chaos in Lebanon.
00:09The government promised to help them reach their goal.
00:13Bian Manalo is in the center of the news.
00:18A crowd of 47 Filipinos arrived at IA Terminal 1 last night.
00:25They are the people who availed of the Voluntary Repatriation program of the government
00:30after the chaos in Lebanon.
00:34They were welcomed by the Department of Migrant Workers,
00:38Overseas Workers Welfare Administration and other government agencies.
00:4345 of them are Overseas Filipino Workers and 2 are Dependents.
00:49This is the largest batch of OFWs who returned from Lebanon
00:54since President Ferdinand R. Marcos, Jr. ordered the Repatriation Program
01:00to begin in October 2023.
01:03We will not stop offering free repatriation services and post-arrival assistance
01:12as ordered by our beloved President through a whole-of-government approach.
01:16In total, 525 OFWs and 30 Dependents returned to the Philippines from Lebanon.
01:24OFWs will receive P170,000 in financial assistance.
01:30They will also be given various skills such as entrepreneurship,
01:34employment enhancement and skills enhancement training.
01:38We're making our services more available.
01:41We have hotlines.
01:43We have transport even for those who need to be brought to shelters
01:48from their homes, from anywhere within Beirut.
01:51The Department of Health is also involved in physical examination and psychological first aid.
01:57And we will provide them more hospitalization services
02:00if they need it even after they've gone home to their specific provinces.
02:06According to the DMW,
02:08364 OFWs from Lebanon will return to the Philippines this month.
02:14More than 200 are being arranged by Lebanese Immigration Authorities.
02:19As of now, Lebanon is on Alert Level 3.
02:22This means that it is a mandatory repatriation.
