00:00The Office of Civil Defense and National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council is now under the Red Alert status
00:08because of the storm Enteng.
00:10The PNP is helping the residents affected by the storm and the flood.
00:16This is Patrick De Jesus, live. Patrick?
00:21Tropical Storm Enteng is now in the Kilino Province.
00:27It is expected to landfall at Kaseguran Aurora.
00:31It is based on the 5pm bulletin of the PGASA this Monday.
00:35The storm Enteng is now moving eastward at a speed of 20km per hour.
00:42Since yesterday, the rainfall has been heavy in some parts of the country because of the storm Enteng.
00:53Many residents also had to evacuate, like in Cahintari, Sala, where the PNP has already helped.
01:00The PNP also helped the motorists who were trapped in the flood and the residents in Libon, Albay.
01:07It was also not easy to evacuate this Sunday night in Vera, Catanduanes amid the heavy rain and flood.
01:165,000 police were deployed on behalf of the PNP
01:19to continue helping the residents affected by the storm and the flood
01:24where all of their units were placed under the heightened alert
01:29and activated the Regional Incidents Management Task Group.
01:33To make sure that we follow the management protocols with respect to our humanitarian assistance and disaster response.
01:43The PNP was also involved in the Law and Order Cluster to avoid possible incidents of looting
01:50and to ensure the order in the evacuation centers.
01:54Because there are stores, commercial establishments and even in residential areas
02:01to make sure that there will be no looting.
02:04If ever there will be a distribution of relief goods, there will be no disturbance.
02:10And of course, our deployment in the evacuation centers, particularly where there are children and women.
02:19That's why we also deployed our WCPD personnel to make sure that the children and women there are protected.
02:27Because we know that when it comes to the evacuation centers, it's very close.
02:31The Office of Civil Defense and NDRRMC is already on a red alert
02:36to respond immediately to those affected by the storm.
02:40We are complementing the order of our President to be always there,
02:44to be one step ahead to provide efficient, adequate and relevant response for our countrymen
02:52so that their families can be safe, especially those who are victims of disasters.
03:00In the initial report of the NDRRMC, two people were killed due to the heavy rains of Baguio-Enteng and Habarat.
03:08This was reported to the Central Visayas where there were also 10 people who were reportedly injured.
03:14According to the NDRRMC, the number is for validation.
03:19According to the OCD, from the initial data of the DSWD,
03:246,000 families were affected by the storm or more than 24,000 individuals.
03:31Maan, to better understand the movement of Baguio-Enteng,
03:35we are here in Pagasa with one of their weather forecasters, Sir Adzara Aurelio.
03:42Sir, good evening.
03:44First question, Sir.
03:46Baguio-Enteng already landed. What is the expected movement of this storm?
03:52We do not expect anything.
03:54It is true that around 2 p.m., Baguio-Enteng landed in a safe aurora.
03:59It is possible that there will be a second landfall in the Patalos area
04:05if it moves in the direction of Northwest Ward at a speed of 20 km per hour.
04:11It is possible that Baguio-Enteng will land inland or in the Maddala or Maddala-Quirino area.
04:23Sir, when is it expected that it will come out of the Philippine Area of Responsibility?
04:28And for the next, let's say, until tomorrow, Sir, what will be its expected movement?
04:35If its movement does not change,
04:37maybe Wednesday morning or afternoon, Baguio-Enteng will come out of the Par.
04:43Tomorrow, even though it will still rain here in Metro Manila,
04:46but the rain that we experienced that day will decrease tomorrow.
04:52Okay. Sir, the expectation, just to be clear to our audience,
04:56you are not recommended to suspend classes,
04:59but you mentioned that it is still possible for Baguio-Enteng to rain.
05:04We are already part of those who will be giving recommendations,
05:07but the last decision is in our high-ups, in DepEd and CHED.
05:12But tomorrow, Sir, it is expected that the weather will still be bad.
05:15The weather will still be bad and it will still rain tomorrow,
05:19but it will be good because the rain that we experienced today will decrease tomorrow.
05:27Sir, Baguio-Enteng already landfalled, but is it expected to weaken or will it be stronger?
05:33Baguio-Enteng is on the ground, so I expect that Baguio-Enteng will weaken while it is on the ground.
05:39Thank you very much, Sir and Sir Aurelio.
05:42And Maan, we will just show you the typhoon signal in different places.
05:48This is signal number 2 because of Baguio-Enteng,
05:52Ilocos Norte, Apayao, Eastern portion of Calinga,
05:57Cagayan, Baboyan Islands, Isabela, Quirino, and Northern portion of Aurora.
06:05Signal number 1, Batanes, Ilocos Sur, La Union, Eastern portion of Pangasinan,
06:13Abra, Rest of Calinga, Mountain Province, Ipugao, Benguet, Nueva Vizcaya, Rest of Aurora, Nueva Ecija, and Eastern portion of Bulacan.
06:26Signal number 1, Metro Manila, Rizal, Northeastern portion of Laguna, and Northern portion of Quezon.
06:36So Maan, we heard that there will be a forecast of heavy rain, so our advice to our countrymen is to be careful,
06:45and if you need to evacuate, especially those who are in landslide prone areas and are being flooded,
06:51let's not hesitate to ask the authorities for rescue.
06:56Maan.
06:58And our public will watch the announcement from our government and local government units in your area.
07:08Thank you very much, Patrick De Jesus.
