17 September - National weather forecast presented by Dan Stroud
Transcript
00:00Hello there. It was a chilly start this morning, with overnight temperatures last night getting
00:06to below zero in a number of spots across the country. But it is mostly dry, and that
00:12is thanks to an error of high pressure currently sat to the west of the country, and that will
00:17continue the case for the next few days.
00:21But back to this afternoon. So, good deal of dry and fine weather across England and
00:26Wales with a decent amount of sunshine. Further north, we do have cloudier skies across parts
00:31of Scotland, with a few showers in the mix. Temperatures today generally reach in highs
00:37of 18 degrees, but with those slightly breezier conditions down the North Sea coast, it will
00:42feel rather fresh in places.
00:45So those dry conditions continue overnight, with largely clear skies across England and
00:51Wales. Cloudier conditions across the North, and those will edge southwards. A chilly night
00:57to come, with temperatures across parts of London reaching lows of 6 degrees, so for
01:01anyone outside, wrap up warm.
01:03So it's a chilly start to Sunday morning, with largely dry and bright conditions, but
01:09cloud will gradually increase from the North during the course of the day, so by the time
01:14we get to the afternoon, it will be largely cloudy. Temperatures reaching highs of 19
01:19degrees on Sunday.
01:21So a settled theme as we move into Monday, but it is generally a lot cloudier, with a
01:26slight increase in the risk of showers across the south. It will be a chilly start Monday
01:31morning, but it is remaining generally settled.
