00:19Vel Custodio has a report.
00:22Just this Saturday,
00:24a batch of overseas Filipino workers from Lebanon returned to the Philippines
00:29via Saudi Arabian Airlines' SV862.
00:32And just yesterday,
00:34eight more Filipinos voluntarily repatriated arrived in the country.
00:37They are our countrymen who were caught up in the chaos between Israel and Hezbollah in Lebanon.
00:42Based on the latest report of the Department of Migrant Workers,
00:45450 OFWs from Lebanon have already returned to the Philippines.
00:50Since President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. ordered the voluntary repatriation in Lebanon a year ago.
00:58As of now, we have 266 in our booked commercial flights.
01:09Okay.
01:10And then, there are additional around,
01:17in our number, more or less, 300.
01:23300 more need to be processed in Lebanese immigration.
01:33So, 300 plus 266, that leaves us with around 566.
01:38We are sure that they are interested in emigrating from Lebanon.
01:42Of course, this is a fluid count.
01:44So, it may increase.
01:45Dependent upon how the DFA sees the political and security situation on the ground.
01:50So, right now, it's alerted.
01:52Meaning, voluntary repatriation and total ban on deployment.
01:56There are no OFWs being processed in Lebanon.
01:59According to the DMW's conversation with Ambassador to Lebanon, Raewon Balatbat,
02:03only 10 OFWs are in the area, severely affected by the war in southern Lebanon.
02:09We have 186 shelters.
02:12186 OFWs.
02:14And some overseas Filipinos,
02:18the married ones in Lebanon, also about 15 of them in the shelter.
02:23But most of the 186 are OFWs.
02:26So, we have three shelters.
02:29And they are in good condition right now.
02:32So, 186 in our shelter.
02:33So, southern Lebanon, of course, the political and security situation,
02:38we are dependent on the DFA,
02:41but we are still praying that the situation will get better.
02:45We know that there are still dangers.
02:47Almost 40 Filipinos will be returning to the country starting later tonight.
02:52Repatriated OFWs will receive a P75,000 financial allowance from the DMW Action Fund,
