00:00The New York Mets with Jose Quintana on the bump against a
00:06playoff start, by the way, in Ranger Suarez, who was really
00:10good for the Philz yesterday, had a chance, booked as a home
00:14favorite New York, to earn a spot in the NLCS for the first
00:18time in nearly a decade. They were down 1-0 into the home
00:23half of the six. The bases were loaded for the guy that if
00:26Shohei Otani did not exist, would win National League MVP.
00:30That's Francisco Lindor, the star of this Mets organization.
00:35The player they look to in those significant stages with
00:38the bases juice, delivers. A grand slam in a home half of
00:44the sixth to put the Mets in front, 4-1, and to send the
00:48Amazons into the National League Championship Series for the
00:52first time since 2015. A memory DRS for this Mets franchise
00:58that will live on forever.
01:00Yeah, it was a big moment there. You know, you ask your
01:02superstars to perform in the biggest moments, and you got
01:05that from Francisco Lindor. Wasn't having a great series,
01:07ended up hitting .259, which is okay, but the impact of that
01:10one swing, where they did not have a single run and turned
01:12it into four runs, you knew the game was over that point
01:15in the bottom of the sixth inning. And also, the New York
01:17Mets could have many more runs than those four, that four
01:19spot in the sixth inning, but Ranger Suarez was absolutely
01:22duty in that performance with a lot of key strikeouts. Same
01:25thing with the Philadelphia Phillies. They got that one
01:27run lead. You knew you needed more out of that. There was
01:29still first and third with one out with a runner on third
01:31base after that error by Mark Vientos. And then you say
01:34to yourself, hey, oh, well, you have a pop fly to right field
01:38and a strikeout, and you only got one run when you could
01:40have increased it and certainly turned it up. You saw that
01:42crowd, which was so electric to start the game at Citi Field,
01:45was absolutely dead silent by the fifth inning because nothing
01:48was going their way, and you left the door open. You bring
01:51in relievers that walk, guys. You bring in relievers that
01:53throw wild pitches. You put all the leverage on closers coming
01:56into the game that aren't used to coming in in a bases loaded
01:59situation, and you wind up with a grand slam victory there.
02:02So, I want to give credit to the New York Mets superstars
02:04which stepped up in the biggest moments when the Phillies
02:06players, look, shout out Bryce Harper, hit .333 in that series.
02:09He was okay. Yeah. Nick Castagnanos hit .412 in that series.
02:12Everybody else, Schwarber, .125, Turner, .200, Bohm, .077,
02:17Real Newport didn't even get a base hit. Hit zero. Stott, .182.
02:20I mean, you got to be kidding. Marsh, .077. You're not going
02:23to win baseball games when two players out of nine show up
02:26for you. That's what happens.
