00:00A day before the deadline for the filing of the certificates of candidacy for the 2025 midterm elections,
00:06both inside and outside of Manila Hotel Tent City was swamped with the eager supporters and the aspiring candidates.
00:14But most of those who filed today are known as familiar and well-known politicians,
00:19such as the first to top off the list today, namely former Senator Gringo Honasan,
00:25who said he has unfinished business to complete.
00:28Hence, his quest for re-election to the Senate.
00:31Even boxing champion and former Senator Manny Pacquiao filed his candidacy today.
00:37He said, in case he is re-elected, he will focus on fighting corruption in the government,
00:43and he vows to support the programs of the administration.
00:58Even re-election of Senator Bong Revilla was also on today's list.
01:12He said, though he is known as Mr. Budots, he accomplished several bills since his career in the Senate began,
01:20and he promises to work harder and accomplish a lot more for the country if given another six years to serve in the Senate.
01:27While we have accomplished so much, work never ceases, and there is still much to be done.
01:37This includes increasing the price of goods,
01:41programs for farmers and fishermen for the promotion of agriculture.
01:50Also seeking for another shot in the Senate in today's COC filing are former Senator Bam Aquino,
01:56retired Colonel Ariel Quirobin, and many more.
02:00While a good number of today's COC filers are familiar faces who've already served and want back in,
02:06a few who signed up today are first-time wannabe lawmakers,
02:10such as Ilocos Sur Governor Chavez Singson, who arrived at the Manila Hotel in an armored car.
02:16Likewise, there's former DILG Secretary Benhur Abalos,
02:20who is in the Bagong Pilipinas late endorsed by President Marcos Jr.
02:25Even Manibela Chairman Marvel Buena is on the list.
02:28After being denied for party list, he challenged himself to be a senatorial aspirant.
02:33Aside from senators, there are also several party lists who filed their certificates of nomination and acceptance,
02:40such as Magsasaka Party List, Ako Bicol Damayang Pilipino,
02:44Ilocano, Bisaya Gyud, Ako OFW, Pamilya Ko,
02:49Akbayan, Anak Kalusugan, MPBL, and Kasambahay Party Lists, to name a few.
02:55Their party list aspirants also received support from when they filed their CONAS.
03:00The priority in the advocacy of Ako OFW is to give the benefits that are right and should be given.
03:06First, the OFW discount benefits.
03:09There are only three priorities that OFWs want.
03:15First, to educate their children.
03:17Second, to have a livelihood.
03:20Third, to have their own house.
03:22Based on Comalex data for the 7th day of COC filing,
03:26there were 49 who filed for senator and 54 for party list representation today.
03:31This brings the total of senatorial aspirants to 127 and 137 for party lists.
