00:00Hello, good afternoon and welcome once again to the Results Show. Can Aberdeen top the
00:14table? Can Hearts get off the bottom? Will Kilmarnock get their first league win of the
00:19season? Answers to those questions and others that I haven't thought of yet to come between
00:23now and ten past five. I'd like to keep Julie Fleeting and Cammy Bell on their toes. Welcome
00:29both now. There are four matches afoot in the Premiership and one to come this evening
00:33so we'd best be off around the grounds. First up is Tyne Castle, bottom club Hearts at home
00:38to Ross County. Brian? Yes, good afternoon David. Similar scoreline to what it's been
00:43this season for Hearts. It's Hearts 0, Ross County 1. 72 minutes as a shot comes in from
00:49substitute Yandanda for Hearts just wide of Ross Laidlaw's goal but it really has been
00:54poor from Hearts once again. Lots of the ball, lots of chances but no way through
01:00as yet. The only goal so far came nine minutes before the end of the first half and what
01:05a goal this was. Do not miss this tonight on Sports Scene. Ronan Hale started the move
01:10with a flick inside then Benny Beningame intercepted a challenge by Randall and the ball fell straight
01:18to the feet of Hale who sent a magnificent shot beyond Craig Gordon into the top left
01:23hand corner off the goal. A real screamer. Hearts have had lots of chances. Cammie Devlin
01:292 in particular, the second of those. It looked to be a tap in from just three yards out however
01:34Ryan Leake made a magnificent block. Then the second half has been constant one way
01:38pressure towards the county goal. Lauren Shanklin still to find the target this season. He had
01:43an effort that came back off the crossbar and again after that James Forrest, Alan Forrest
01:50had a chance again. It was a good save by Lidl although the referee elected to give
01:55it as a goal kick. There's just no way through at the moment. Here's a chance for Ross County
01:59to really kill this game off. They're 2-1 and it's through to Samuel, the substitute
02:04and eventually it's blocked. It goes out for a corner kick but the county, they've been
02:08on the counter attack most of the afternoon and they look very dangerous for Hearts while
02:13the natives are being very restless indeed. It's Hearts 0, Ross County 1. So Hearts have
02:18their work cut out to get off the foot of the table. What about Aberdeen in their endeavour
02:22to get to the top? They're away to Dundee this afternoon. It's watched by Cairdyn. Sunshine
02:27on Tayside 3, flowing football from both sides. Three goals, we've had the lot here at Dens.
02:33Even the Aberdeen fans singing about winning the league. Why? Because as things stand they're
02:39heading for six wins out of six in the league under Jimmy Tilleen and clear daylight at
02:44the top of the table, at least until Celtic kick off later on at St Johnstone. The Dons
02:49came flying out the traps here at the ground. They last tasted defeat at, over 90 minutes
02:54anyway, 22 games ago, way back in March. The well-oiled red machine ruthlessly punishing
03:00two Dundee mistakes in the first half hour or so with fine finishes. The first from Kevin
03:05Nisbet who may now be eyeing up Steve Clarke's next Scotland squad announcement in a few
03:09days' time. The second from Topi Keskanen, provider for the first goal, supplier himself
03:15of the second, even though his shot probably should have been saved by John McCracken in
03:19the Dundee goal. 2-0 at half-time would have been harsh on a Dundee side who weren't playing
03:24badly so when Simon Murray was upended by Gavin Malloy for a penalty before the break,
03:29he coolly took it himself to reduce his side's arrears to a single goal. It's 2-1 to Aberdeen
03:36still in the second half. It's not been quite as good. We nearly have Scott Tiffany equalising
03:42though but for a great save from Dimitar Mitov to tip the ball away around the post for a
03:46corner. Great stuff so far here at Dens. We've played over 20 minutes in the second half.
03:52It is Dundee 1, Aberdeen 2. Now folks, it's Fir Park for all manner of incident and controversy
03:58this afternoon. Jane Lewis will detail as much of it as she can in about 30 seconds
04:03or so. It's Motherwell St Mirren. I could be here all day. Motherwell 2, St Mirren 1.
04:07Yeah, plenty of talking points in this one and we've only played 68 minutes. There was
04:13added time in the first half but let me talk you through it. It was all going so well from
04:17a St Mirren point of view. The visitors ahead after just nine minutes and a beautiful goal
04:21it was too. Killian Phillips just inside the box. The ball came in. Great touch from him.
04:26Great turn as well and on the half-volley he made it 1-0. Then came the first of the
04:30talking points. Motherwell were awarded a penalty. Marcus Fraser was adjudged to have
04:34blocked Dan Casey and after a VAR check the penalty stood. Lennon Miller kept his cool
04:39to slot the ball home. Miller had the ball in the back of the net on 42 minutes. A VAR
04:44check again and this one perhaps a little bit more controversial. The ball broke to
04:49Miller. VAR was checking whether he'd controlled the ball with his arm or not with the ball
04:54on route to goal. There was a long check but the goal did stand. So Motherwell were, Lennon
05:00Miller scored his second of the afternoon. Into the second half, I should say before
05:08that Killian Phillips towards the end of the first half almost grabbed a second, his second
05:12of the afternoon and what a brilliant save it was by the Motherwell goalkeeper. Then
05:16into the second half more controversy followed. It was early in the second half. Phillips
05:21shot in. It looked like it was goal-bound. Dan Casey, though, it looked like the ball
05:27hit off his arm and a red card was awarded to him. A VAR check stood. He'd been adjudged
05:33to have deliberately handled the ball to stop a goal-scoring opportunity. So St Mirren had
05:39a chance from the penalty spot and it was saved by Aston Oxbury. A brilliant save it
05:44was too. The incidents then didn't stop, David, because Scott Kanza was sent off for his second
05:49yellow card of the afternoon. As I say, we've got 20 minutes left in this one. More changes
05:54have been made by both teams and anything can happen in this one. There's still plenty
05:57of time and already we've had incident after incident. Anything can happen again. I wonder
06:02if Martin Dowden can top that for excitement and incident. He's at Rugby Park this afternoon
06:07watching Kilmarnock who are going for their first win of the league season against Dundee
06:11United. I think I can top the lot, David. What a game this has been. Kilmarnock 3, Dundee
06:16United 1. And what a second half turnaround it has been. Absolutely incredible. Kilmarnock
06:22trailed at half-time after a brilliantly worked goal let Louis Moult tap home from Lucas Stevenson's
06:27cross into the six-yard box. They could have already been ahead when Stevenson got in but
06:33he failed to take his chance. But at half-time, David Watson was introduced, came on as a
06:37sub within minutes. What an impact. A cross came in over his shoulder. He swivelled and
06:42produced an outrageous overhead kick to equalise. Robbie Dees then nodded off the post before
06:48it got even better for Watson. He ran into the box and poked home Matty Kennedy's deflected
06:53shot for an incredible turnaround. Talk about super sub. Kilmarnock then made it 3. The
06:58ball bounced off the bar from Dees again. Marley Watkins was there. He nodded in from
07:02close range and survived a VAR check for an unbelievable third. Jim Goodwin just can't
07:08believe what he's seeing here. They looked in control at half-time but it's Kilmarnock
07:11who are on route for their first win of the league season in absolutely incredible fashion.
07:16Kilmarnock 3, Dundee United 1.
07:18Thanks very much Martin. Tell you what folks, what is it? 11 goals, 2 red cards, VAR back
07:23with a vengeance. Don't you just love Saturday afternoons? But where do you want to start?
07:28Where do you want to start Julie? Shall we start with Aberdeen?
07:31That's probably been the one that hasn't had too much controversy. I think Aberdeen
07:35thoroughly deserved to go 2 goals up. Brilliant from Dundee to come back into the game just
07:41right before half-time. Penalty. It was a clear penalty. I think there were questions
07:46about whether the players should have been sent off or not. But I think what the referee
07:52have felt is that he has made a clear and obvious attempt to try and get the ball from
07:57Simon Murray. It's Simon Murray that steps up to slot the ball into the net. So 2-1 then
08:02it's a game, it's everything to play for. Aberdeen are certainly still looking to try
08:08and make it a more comfortable victory and indeed pressing to try and get back into the
08:12game.
08:13If they go to the top of the table, at least until Celtic's game concludes tonight, they're
08:16away to St John's. That would be 6 wins from 6 in the league. They'd be clocking up the
08:22dozen at Denz. That would be their 12th win from 12 games this season.
08:26Incredible and it's been a brilliant start for the new manager. There's been good value
08:30for their lead so far. It has become a closer game since Dundee have scored. Kevin Nisbet
08:36took his goal really, really well. It was a cool, calm and collected finish when the
08:41cross came in. So there's been good value and they've done well. They'll just be wanting
08:45to try and see this game out and as you say, get that 3 points top of the table and what
08:48a start it's been for them.
08:49Let's go right down to the bottom because that's where hearts are destined to finish
08:53the afternoon if things stay roughly as they are at the moment. They're a goal down at
08:57home to Ross County. Ross County, I think, haven't won in their last 19 away matches.
09:04For me, hearts have certainly been the better side in terms of the amount of possession,
09:08the amount of chances that they've created. They have had plenty of opportunities to go
09:12ahead but I think sometimes when you find yourself in that position at the bottom of
09:16the table, things are not going well for you. Those are the times when you really need to
09:21work hard. Ross County have posed a threat going forward on the counter-attack and that's
09:26where their goal came from. It's an absolutely outstanding goal. Hale starts it off. As the
09:33ball comes into him, he's got a wee flick inside and then when the ball breaks to him
09:36after a tackle, his finish is absolutely incredible. He just curls it into the far corner and Craig
09:44Gordon had absolutely no chance.
09:46What a game it is at Fir Park. I mentioned there, incident, controversy, red cards, goals.
09:52Let's talk about perhaps the most controversial of all the incidents we've seen which is
09:57Lennon Miller's second goal. We hear the SFA say it came off his hip, not his arm.
10:04Listen, it was a difficult one to see but obviously the referee gave the goal first
10:10and foremost, didn't see anything wrong with the goal at the time. VAR obviously check
10:13every single incident, every single goal. They couldn't see the handball. Yes, it hits
10:17his arm on the sleeve but then as it comes down, I think it hits his arm lower and then
10:23he gets his strike away. It's a brilliant strike. Take nothing away from Lennon Miller.
10:26It's a great strike but because it was directly involved in the goal, for me, I felt as if
10:32it should have been pulled back and it should have been disallowed.
10:35We'll talk about Coman at Dundee United shortly but we're heading to the Championship for
10:39some chat from Chick. He's watching Ayre against Morton.
10:44Controversy here as well as seems to be throughout the country this afternoon, David. It's Ayre
10:49United leading Morton by a goal to nil. That came from the penalty spot. No doubt about
10:55the award, absolutely correct in that. Jack Baird with a really bad challenge on Ethan
11:00Walker brought down 66 minutes on the clock after a pretty quiet first half. Penalty to
11:06kick to Ayre United and up stepped Henderson to take the penalty kick. He scored it, Jay
11:13Henderson, but immediately almost the entire Morton team reacted, ran to the referee and
11:20to the linesman and it would seem they were alleging that the goal scorer kicked the ball
11:25twice, Henderson kicked the ball twice as he slotted at home. They really surrounded
11:29the referee and indeed the linesman on the far side. No VAR here of course. The goal
11:34stands and Ayre United lead by a goal to nil. That's the one that will be the debate point
11:41after the game. Without a shadow of a doubt, it did seem as if he may have kicked the ball
11:45twice from the penalty spot. That apart, we've had one magnificent save, I have to say, from
11:51Ryan Mullen in the Morton goal in the end of a shot that was screaming into the net.
11:55I saw another chance there for Ayre United. Wonderful save that was and it's a game though
12:01it'll be talked about, about that penalty award unless something else dramatic happens.
12:05Scoreline at the moment though, Ayre United 1, Morton 0. I thought he was going to start singing
12:09and thank goodness he didn't. I tell you, as promised, more chat on Kilmarnock Dundee United.
12:13It's going to come first of all though from Martin Dowden. Martin, you have news?
12:18Yeah, we thought Dundee United had pulled one back. Craig Sibbald with an absolutely brilliant
12:23finish from outside the box, straight past Kieran O'Hara. But there is a long delay here, a VAR
12:29check going on with the referee, Craig Napier, still listening in his ear. They have awarded
12:35an on-field foul just at the edge of the box for an incident, I think just before the ball
12:40came out to Sibbald. That's obviously being checked by VAR and we're waiting to see if this
12:46goal will indeed stand. Still 3-1 at the moment. Thanks very much Martin. Guys, you've had eyes
12:51on that. Briefly, what do you make of the goings on there in relation to that particular incident?
12:56Yes, it's a challenge for Dundee United to win the ball back and then obviously the ball breaks
13:01and the score from it. The referee's done the right thing and allowed play to continue.
13:04Then he's given the free kick, but VAR will have a look at it. For me, I think he wins the ball,
13:08so I think this goal should stand, but we'll wait and see what VAR thinks.
13:11Yeah, I'm a cammy. I don't think it's a foul. I think he definitely gets the ball and I think
13:17he cleanly gets the ball as well. So the goal should certainly stand, in my opinion,
13:22and he's going to the monitor now. I tell you what, VAR's been so… I mean,
13:25it had been quiet, relatively speaking, this season in terms of VAR decisions. That's all
13:29changed today. In this one, I think you've got to give credit to the referee because he could
13:33have easily, I think in that incident, could have easily quickly blown there because there was a
13:36wee bit of phase going on, but he allowed it to play. He's obviously seen it as a foul and then
13:40pulled it back, but I'm pretty sure he's going to go over here and look at it and think he's got the
13:44wrong decision on field and the goal will stand. Yeah, we don't want VAR to overshadow things,
13:48especially in that game because it's been a sensational match, cammy,
13:52and some tactical genius from Derek McInnes at half-time, was it?
13:57Yeah, again, Dundee United were really good in the first half and had a lot of the play,
14:01had a number of chances. Kilmarnock, again, didn't look as if he'd got going and then they
14:05make that change. Watson comes on and he scores two fantastic goals. The first goal's an incredible
14:11finish. It's a volley at the back post into the far corner, brilliant finish, and then he's got
14:15that run on for the second one from Mattie Kennedy's cross. He gets the finish and Watkins,
14:20again, comes on and gets the goal. So, yeah, it's been a brilliant second half from Kelly.
14:24Right, I've got a bit of clarity for you. Do you think the goal stands or not?
14:27Yes.
14:28Correct? Yes, goal. So it's 3-2, Kilmarnock there. Kilmarnock have struggled to score,
14:33but they've managed to net three this afternoon so far.
14:36Yeah, I think, I mean, we know what their season's been like. We know that they've had a tough time
14:40in Europe and that's probably been why they've struggled to get results this season, but it has
14:47been a bit of a turning point. The last two games, they had a couple of draws. They're now back at
14:53home. They've only had that one defeat against Rangers in the league, so they're a good side,
15:06but Kilmarnock, they've got lots of belief in the squad that they've got. They've kept the
15:11players from last season who were so successful. They've added a few extras and I think Derek
15:16McKinnon has always been confident that he's got the right squad that can do well again this season.
15:22It was just a matter of time.
15:24And there's controversy at Somerset Park with the penalty for Air United against
15:29Morton. We can find out now what's happening in one of the other matches in the Championship,
15:33Wraith Rovers against Falkirk. Former Falkirk captain Stephen McGinn, I'm delighted to say,
15:39joins us now. Stephen, what's happening?
15:41Well, Falkirk are heading for their first league defeat since the 18th of April,
15:442023. It's been a really frustrating afternoon for Falkirk. They're missing some key personnel,
15:49club captain Cole Donaldson, striker Ross McIver obviously got injured at Celtic Park last
15:54week. Wraith have been excellent, they've probably shaded the game. Falkirk's frustration summed up
16:02by assistant manager Paul Smith being yellow carded. It was that type of pressure from Wraith
16:07that Dylan Tate loses the ball and Dylan Easton, a bit of magic, chops Liam Henderson in the box
16:13for a penalty that Jack Hamilton puts away. I think Wraith are working really hard to make
16:18sure that they don't give up the lead like they did last week.
16:21Thanks very much, Stephen. Football's a funny thing, isn't it? Falkirk unbeaten in the league
16:25since what, April? We send top Ben McGinn down there, former captain, and he jinxes the thing.
16:31A couple of things to look at on that one. Wraith Rovers have really, really been struggling.
16:36What a win that would be and what could it do for their season?
16:39Yeah, I think we keep waiting for them to turn that corner. Wraith Rovers were so successful
16:43last year and you're expecting to see more of that. It hasn't been that way this season at all
16:49for them, but in front of their home fans, it was a massive game for them. Falkirk, we know,
16:54have been absolutely flying so far this season, so a huge game and if they can get any sort of
17:00result, certainly three points, that would be massive for Wraith. Falkirk getting tremendous
17:05plaudits for their efforts last week at Celtic Park. I wonder if maybe just losing five goals
17:09dents their confidence a wee bit? No, I don't think so, David. I think that looking, certainly,
17:14Brendan Rodgers going into the changing room and praising them how well they did on the day and
17:18they did put in a great performance up to that 70 minute when it changed. So I don't think that'll
17:23affect them at all. It sounds as if it's been a game that's been really frustrating for Falkirk.
17:27They've maybe just not got the rub of the green so far, but they're still timing it for them to
17:30get themselves back into it and try and get at least a draw, which would be a great result
17:35in this moment of time. I'll just bring you up to date on other scorelines in the Championship.
17:39As we mentioned, the United won Morton nil, that's that Jay Henderson penalty. East End
17:44Park done firmly, Athletic won Queen's Park two. Hamilton won Partick Thistle nil. That's gone into
17:51time added on for stoppages and it's Livingston won Adrianians one. So some interesting stuff
17:56there because Hamilton, you know, they've got a wee chance against Partick Thistle today,
18:01doing well there. Thistle had, it looked as though they'd got the show back on the road.
18:05Yeah, I think Thistle again, another team that didn't start particularly well, but certainly
18:10they've had a bit of momentum in the last few games. Hamilton are just, haven't quite found
18:15their consistency this season. They've really struggled. They're kind of picking up points and
18:19then getting into the next game and losing. So it is going to be about trying to find that level
18:26of consistency within the Championship. That can be really difficult. Now it's a 5-45 kickoff in
18:32Perth for St Johnson and Celtic. The Motherwell St Mern game might just be finished by that time,
18:37but Thomas Duncan is in Perth for us. He's Radio Scotland's commentator this evening. He's missing
18:42his tea and everything, but let's hear from him now though with a wee Saturday night scene setter.
18:47Thomas. Thanks David. Good evening from McDermott Park where Andy Kirk prepares to lead out St
18:52Johnson for the second week in a row as the club searches for Craig Levine's replacement. Last
18:57week's draw at Ross County stopped the run of four straight defeats, but their chances of an
19:02elusive victory here appear slim on paper. At least Celtic arrive in Perth with eight wins from
19:08eight. It's their best start to a season since the year 2000. They've won on the last 14 visits
19:13to McDermott Park as well. Everything really points to a Celtic victory here, including the fact
19:19they've brought back Arnie Ingalls, Nicholas Kuhn, Dyson Maida and Keogh all back into the XI
19:25after rotation against Falkirk in the League Cup last week with Cameron Carter-Vickers
19:30struggling with a toe injury. Austin trusty partners Liam Scales at centre-back. Saints
19:35team news, they just make the one change from that draw ending while Graeme Carey is in
19:40for Jason Holt who misses out altogether. Looking forward to this one David. Kick-off is 5.45.
19:46Brilliant stuff. Thanks very much Thomas. That should be a very interesting match. Andy Kirk
19:51says he wants the job on a more permanent basis. The St Johnson interim caretaker, temporary boss,
19:56call him what you like. This could be a big night for him. A massive opportunity for him. We know
20:01how difficult it's going to be for St Johnson but if he wants to really put himself out there,
20:05getting a result tonight would be huge for his case going forward. It's going to be difficult
20:10for St Johnson. We know how good Celtic are, the form they're in at the moment. You look at their
20:14side, their players going forward, Keogh, Maida, again it just goes on and on. It's a real threat
20:22at the top end of the pitch. I think it's going to be a tough night for St Johnson but they need
20:26to hang in. They need to hang in there early in the game because you can't concede early or it
20:30will be a long night. Intuition just tells you that's another three points for Celtic, does it
20:34not Julie? I think on paper if you look at the way Celtic have started then yes but St Johnson I'm
20:42quite sure will have other ideas. It will be extremely difficult to stop. Within the league
20:47alone they've scored 14 and they've still to concede a goal so that just tells you that they're
20:51getting it right at both ends of the park but certainly that could be a massive result if
20:58he really wants the job Andy Kirk but certainly Celtic have shown no signs of slipping up so far
21:04this season. They've got a big week ahead as well. They've got Dortmund and the Champions League away
21:08coming up on Tuesday. Not that big a gap between today's game and that. I think in an ideal world
21:15Brendan Rodgers would have the game done in the first half and I'm pretty sure you know how fast
21:20Celtic start games and normally get goals early as well so he'll be expecting that tonight and
21:24then he might be able to make a number of changes in the second half with an eye on obviously
21:27Tuesday night's game because it's a huge game as well but he's got the squad to manage this
21:32situation in the league and the Champions League so they'll just be looking forward to trying to
21:36get three points tonight. It's this pace, the energy, the pressing of Celtic that's made them
21:40unstoppable hasn't it? It has and they do it right from the first whistle and that's what's allowed
21:45them to get goals up. It's been then very relaxing for them in terms of how they've
21:50saw out games because they've been able to get goals, they've been able to make it more comfortable
21:56and I think when you score so early on your team then can just settle down and just play
22:02your normal game and the best thing about them is the way that they press, the high intensity that
22:07they have and then when they do win the ball back they've just got brilliant footballers who can
22:12then go and attack and create opportunities. Now tomorrow we've got Rangers against Hibs,
22:19Ibrox Rangers on the back of that excellent win in Sweden, their first win in Swedish soil
22:24in fact against Swedish opposition but they're looking at the table tonight and as things
22:28stand you know they're going to be getting into that game, eight points behind Aberdeen, possibly
22:32eight points behind Celtic as well? Yeah again what Rangers need to do at this moment in time is
22:37you need to find form, they need to get good performances which one was a fantastic one on
22:41Thursday night, a difficult game away to Malmo, we expected a really strong opposition, they maybe
22:46weren't as strong as everyone thought and we've seen but again Rangers they got off to the perfect
22:51start, scored in the first minute and then they continued that, it could have been 4-5-0 midweek
22:55so they'll take real confidence from that but they need to go and back that up in the league
22:58with a big performance against Hibs, go and get three points and try and close that gap.
23:03Hibs have had a nice wee break haven't they? No European football, no League Cup quarterfinals?
23:08No and it's probably, it has probably allowed them a chance to really get on the training pitch and
23:13try and correct things that haven't went too well for them this season so sometimes that can go
23:19both ways, it could go either way for you where you're desperate to get back on the pitch if
23:24your season hasn't been great but certainly they're going to be well rested, certainly more
23:29rested than what Rangers are coming off the back of the travel. I'm going to give you guys a rest
23:33for the next minute to get the little grey cells back in shape for our full-time round-up but it's
23:38time just now for a traditional tour round the trail board, first stop is the BBC Alba match

24:02stage, that's tomorrow night, you can listen to that match live with commentary, Richard Gordon

24:19their adventures on Sportsound on Tuesday night from 6 with Champions League highlights on BBC
24:24One on Wednesday night at 10.40, the European adventures continue on Thursday when Hearts are
24:30on their travels to take on Dynamo Minsk and Rangers are home to Lyon at Ibrox, Sportsound
24:36with you all evening from five o'clock, oh aye the results show is back next Saturday but we're
24:42heading straight with the speed of many antelopes to Tyne Castle, Brian McLaughlin has an update,
24:47Hearts Ross County. You guys are in the sixth minute of added on time here, we're still not
24:52sure exactly who scored, it may well be an own goal and indeed looks like a VAR check as well
24:58is going to take place but the ball was played into the box, it was beyond Ross Laidlaw and
25:03into the net, that came just after Lauren Shankland, look 70 score only for Laidlaw to save,
25:10we're still waiting to see the goal stands, it's going to be the final score here at Tyne Castle
25:15tonight, it's Hearts one, Ross County one. There we go, Hearts are back, Shankland's back by the
25:22looks of things, Brian's predicting boldly perhaps that that's the final score, might not be but at
25:28least they haven't lost from Hearts point of view. And it comes from a corner and Craig Gordon's
25:32gone up, he challenges for the header and initially causes a bit of havoc in the six yard box.
25:38Has he got an assist? I don't think he's touched it at all, I think it might be an own goal.
25:43No, it's hard to see, there's a lot of bodies in there but Shankland just missed a chance one-on-one,
25:48it was a brilliant before it, Laidlaw saved it and it went to the corner and they obviously
25:52scored so it looks as if they've rescued a point here tonight. Let's head to the championship,
25:57Chick Young has a final result, it's Air against Morton, Chick. Yeah it's a big win for Air United,
26:04three points which keeps them at the top of this championship race this evening, they won by a
26:10goal to nil, the penalty came after 66 minutes, it was a Walker, Ethan Walker brought down inside
26:17the box by Jack Baird, no doubt about that, Stonewall penalty kick award rightly given
26:23but the controversy was to ensue when the penalty taker Jay Henderson appeared to kick the ball
26:29twice as he scored, that was a long distance from me to be fair but immediately the Morton players
26:37almost as one protested, hands in the air, ran to the referee and the linesman suggesting in fact
26:45declaring that Henderson had actually kicked the ball twice as they put it into the net in which
26:49case the goal should not have stood clearly, they were adamant that that was the case but
26:55no VAR in the championship so the goal stands and they had got all three points, the other
26:59highlight of this game I have to say was an unbelievable save from Ryan Mullen, it was a
27:05glorious shot going into the corner again from Henderson, the penalty man, it was going into
27:11the corner and somehow Mullen got a cause, it was a fabulous save, got it round the post for a corner
27:16kick, nil nil at half time, that's the only goal that came in the second half, three points for
27:21Air United but I think there'll be a bit of debate in that visitor's dressing room right now, full
27:26time here, Air United 1 Morton 0. Will that be enough to open up a good lead at the top of the
27:32table? We'll find out because Falkirk were away to Raith this afternoon, how did it finish Stephen
27:37McGinn? It finished 1-0 to Raith Rovers, as I said a long long time since Falkirk have lost a
27:42league game, I think that's reflected in the response that the fans gave them at the end,
27:46standing ovation, they were a patched up, they left everything, I think it's Celtic Park last
27:51week lost a few bodies and it showed in the performance, I think Raith looked brighter all
27:55over the park, although Falkirk had a lot of the ball, Raith defended very well, a pleasing
28:01clean sheet for Neil Collins and I think over the piece Raith Rovers deserved winners.
28:07Thanks very much Stephen, let's hear from Brian McLaughlin now, full-time whistle has been sounded
28:12at Tyne Castle, Harts Ross County. As predicted David, it's finished, Harman Lothian 1 Ross County
28:171, what a finish here at Tyne Castle, they looked in all intents and purposes that Ross County would
28:23be heading back north with all three points, they scored nine minutes before half time, it was a
28:30goal as well that started and finished by Ronan Hale, a wonderful curling shot that gave Craig
28:36Gordon no chance of saving, Harts for much of the afternoon, bereft of confidence, numerous chances
28:43he had, Cammy Devlin in the first half looked certain to score from close range, only for Ryan
28:47Leak to block from around six yards out, Shankland who was yet to hit the mark this season, he had a
28:55shot that crashed off the crossbar, Barry McKay and Jan Danda coming close as well and then into
29:00stoppage time, when they looked for all intents and purposes, Harts would still not be able to
29:05find the back of the net, it was Shankland who had the chance, the ball was saved by Laidlaw,
29:11the corner came in, Craig Gordon up for the corner made a challenge, we're still not sure whether it
29:16was Shankland or an OG from a county player but that won't trouble Harts because the ball ended
29:21up in the back of the net and it's Harts with a point here at Tyne Castle, their first point
29:26since the opening day of the season against Rangers and it stops this horrendous run of eight
29:32straight defeats, it's finished here at an edgy Tyne Castle but what a match this was,
29:38Hartham and Lothian won, Ross County won. Thanks Brian, not quite finished at Rugby Park, Kilmarnock
29:44against a D United but Martin you have news of an incident. This is absolutely incredible, deep into
29:49injury time, it's still Kilmarnock three, Dundee United two, Lucas Stevenson just went into the
29:56box, he went down, the referee Craig Napier appeared to be turning away but then turned back and pointed
30:02straight to the spot, the penalty has been awarded but yet again we have a long VAR check, he's just
30:09moving into the centre of the area now and it looks like he's going to give the penalty, it looks as
30:17though it is going to stand and Dundee United will have the opportunity to equalise deep at the end
30:24of injury time, it's Ross Graham just placing the ball down on the spot right now,
30:32a long delay here as Napier just stands between him and the goalkeeper making sure he's on the
30:37line, Dundee United with a chance to sensationally get back in level terms, what a game this has been,
30:44they were ahead, they were three one behind and they've got the chance now to earn a quite
30:51incredible point, the referee just making sure every player is behind the line as Graham waits,
30:56a long long wait for him and he's set to go now, the referee blows the whistle, Graham comes forward
31:03and he scores, unbelievable, it's Kilmarnock three, Dundee United three, Ross Graham.
31:12Well done Martin, I thought his voice was going at the end there, what a grand finale for that one,
31:19but what's your views on the awarding of that penalty? Again we didn't see it too many times
31:25back but initially I thought Fraser Murray wins the ball, it's a tackle kind of from behind but
31:28he gets enough on the ball for me for it not to be a penalty but obviously VAR have looked at it
31:33and they've deemed it a penalty like the referees gave it so yeah real sucker punch for Kelly there.
31:38Yeah we'll have to head to Potaudrie, Denz Park even, it's Dundee against Aberdeen, it's all over
31:43there, Kerrdean. It feels and looks like Potaudrie David because there is a sea of red and white
31:49Aberdeen fans celebrating as if they've won the league, earlier in the match they were singing
31:55we're going to win the league and that is because their team is still perfect in the league,
32:02played 6-1-6 overall, played 12-1-12, the Aberdeen fans in raptures and some of the Aberdeen players
32:10as well ran straight to their goalkeeper Dimitar Mitov to congratulate him for his second half
32:17performance because there were two or three key saves from him from Scott Tiffany and from a
32:22lovely flip from Curtis Main that mean that Aberdeen keep all three points, there was a chance
32:27as well for Koumetio late on, Billy Koumetio up from the back from Dundee headed over when he
32:33probably should have headed in right at the end, all of Aberdeen's good work, the bulk of it anyway
32:39was done before the halftime whistle, two really fine strikes from Kevin Nisbet and Topi Keskanen
32:47after about half an hour meant that the Dons were cruising, it was pretty harsh on Dundee
32:52who've actually played really well here but lost, their goal came from a coolly taken Simon
32:58Murray penalty, the Dundee fans are unhappy around because they feel they should and could have got
33:03more from this match, the celebrations continue away to my left, the Aberdeen fans are loving
33:10this score line, they're loving the fact that they are three points clear at the top of the table as
33:15things stand right now because the score here has finished Dundee 1 Aberdeen 2. Thanks very much
33:21Cairdyn folks, we're going to bring you today's classified results round up now because if we
33:25don't do them now we're never going to get them in. Here we go, hold on to your hats.
33:36And first up we go to the William Hill Premiership, Dundee 1 Aberdeen 2, Hearts 1,
33:42Ross County 1, Kilmarnock 3, Dundee United 3, that's a latest score as is Motherwell 2,
33:49St Mirren 1, St Johnson play Celtic this evening and Rangers had a home to Hibs tomorrow.
33:56I enter the Championship, Air United 1, Morton 0, Dunfermline Athletic 1, Queen's Park 2,
34:03Hamilton Academical 1, Partick Thistle 0, Livingston 2, Adrianians 1, Wraith Rovers 1, Falkirk 0.
34:12In League 1, Inverness Caledonian Thistle 0, Sinise Muir 0, Kelty Hearts 3 and an Athletic 0,
34:19Montrose 2, Allo Athletic 2, Queen of the South 2, Dumbarton 0 and Cove Rangers
34:24versus Arbroath kicks off at 5.30. On to League 2, Bonnyrig Rose 0, Forford Athletic 1,
34:33Elgin City 3, Edinburgh City 3, Peterhead 2, Clyde 2, Spartans 0, East Fife 1, Stranraer 0,
34:42Stirling Albion 2. There we go folks, now then we're going to head to Fir Park, Jane Lewis
34:49can give us news of how the match between Motherwell and St Mirren finished.
34:53Yet 2-1 to the home side here, two red cards, two penalties, one saved, one scored, plenty of
34:59talking points, it was St Mirren who opened the scoring, no talking points about this one as
35:04Killian Phillips fired in a lovely goal after just nine minutes. Then came the controversy
35:09and Motherwell awarded a penalty when Marcus Fraser blocked Dan Casey, the penalty stood
35:15after a VAR check and Lennon Miller kept his cool. Miller then had the ball in the back of the net
35:20again for the second time, that was to put Motherwell ahead. There was a VAR check, a bit of
35:25a controversy, they were checking as to whether the ball had hit Miller's arm en route to goal,
35:30they said no, so the goal stood. Then into the second half it was more controversy, this time
35:36VAR involved again, Phillips' shot looked like it was goal bound before Dan Casey was a judge to
35:42have deliberately stopped the goal scoring opportunity. The penalty stood, he was sent off
35:47and St Mirren were down to 10 men, Motherwell were down to 10 men I should say, St Mirren then
35:52though were down to 10 men when Scott Tanzer was sent off. After that one the game kind of
35:57toed and froed a little bit, a couple of chances for each side but yeah, I think the interesting
36:02thing David is going to be Stephen Robinson's post-match interviews in this one. Motherwell 2, St Mirren 1.
36:07Thanks very much Jane, let's head to Rugby Park, it's all over, Kilmarnock, Dundee United, Martin.
36:11Full time, Kilmarnock 3, Dundee United 3, I've got my voice back, what a game, just incredible, Ross Graham
36:16got United the point with that late penalty, they had led through Louis Moult, they went 3-1 down
36:21when David Watson scored an incredible overhead kick, then stroked in another before Watkins
36:26nodded in a third from close range, that seemed that, but no, Craig Sybil struck from distance
36:32and then that Ross Graham penalty, deep, deep into injury time to deny Kilmarnock their first
36:38win of the season and get United that point, Kilmarnock 3, Dundee United 3.
36:43Still looking for the first wins of the season Julie? Yeah I think Killy are going to be
36:49absolutely devastated, I think their second half performance certainly for the first part of it
36:55was a real strong one, a massive turnaround from their first half, from the way they performed in
37:00the first half but you really, if you're 3-1 up you need to manage the game and you need to see
37:05it out and I'm sure they'll be absolutely devastated by that result. Cammy I'm just
37:09wondering, do you think Aberdeen fans are finding it difficult to sing we're going to win the league
37:12with their tongue in their cheek? Or do you think they mean it? No listen, they're enjoying the
37:17moment and they should do because it's been incredible this season, that's a big win today,
37:20again Dundee put a lot of pressure on Aberdeen in the second half, Meethoff had a number of
37:24brilliant saves but you need your goalie to stand up and be counted for, he'd done that today and
37:27it's a brilliant, brilliant three points for Aberdeen. What should Aberdeen's aspiration
37:31be now? I mean I was joking when I mentioned that but do you see them as title contenders?
37:35Maybe even challenging just to split the old firm, that old cliche? Well if they just continue to
37:40win games I think that'll be their focus, I think they'll just be looking at the next game that
37:44they're going to play and it's working so far for them, they're obviously in a really good place
37:51and yeah I think they're just going to take it from game to game, if they get to the next
37:56break that they've got, the next international break, having not
38:00dropped a point in the league then they'll just look to the next target so it's a great start.
38:04Here's a multiple choice question for you, Harps, Ross, County, who'll be happier with that result?
38:09A, Harps, B, Ross County, C, neither, D, both. I think Ross County will be devastated to lose it at the end,
38:17I think 1-1 would have been a good result if they would have took it before the game I'm sure.
38:21Brilliant stuff, breathtaking stuff this afternoon, I'm afraid I'll ask folks, that's the size and
38:27shape of things for us today, remember though Tomo was here with highlights of today's matches a
38:31little later, please join him and the Night Shift for that, thanks to Julie Fleeting and Cammie Bell
38:37and to the members of the team you hear but don't see and the ones you don't see
38:41or hear, most of all to you for joining us, take care and we'll see you soon, good night.
