00:00Welcome and intoxicating blend of Premiership, Championship and League Cup, scores, reports,
00:16reaction and a preview or two between now and ten past five. That's why Julie Fleeting
00:21and Cammie Bell keep coming back for more. Delighted to have them with us on another
00:25adventure in Scottish football. Two Premiership games this afternoon, so we'll start there
00:30and we will head, I think, to Paisley, where St Mirren are at home to the bottom club in
00:35the Premiership, Hearts, and we will be joined by Jane Lewis.
00:38Good afternoon to you all. St Mirren 2, Hearts 1 here in Paisley. Are St Mirren about to
00:43win their first league match as the opening day of the season? Well, they went ahead early
00:47on in this one. First result looked as if Richard Taylor, who did rise really well,
00:52had headed the ball in past Craig Gordon in from the corner, but some now have it
00:56down as an own goal from Gerard Taylor. Not 100% sure on that one. You guys might get
01:01a better look at it. That goal came after, actually, a really good start from Hearts
01:05and they did get back into this match and it was a brilliant header from Craig Halkin.
01:10He headed in from the corner, but yeah, it was a really, really good move from him, a
01:14running header. It was a frustrating watch, though, at times, for the Hearts manager as
01:18he's watched his side create. They were going forward, they were getting into the final
01:22third, but they just could not capitalise on that threat going forward at all. He was
01:26left even more frustrated then as Olyosanya from St Mirren was on his toes to catch out
01:31what was a sleeping, a really kind of static Hearts defence, to be honest with you. The
01:35long ball came over from Gogic. It was a slight flick on it and Olyosanya was alert to finish
01:41on from close range. The second half's been fairly lively. There's not been too many talking
01:45points in terms of clear-cut chances. St Mirren, though, interestingly, have rung the changes.
01:50They brought on three players for the final 20 minutes or so, including Kevin Van Veen.
01:56Late transfer deadline day signing. It's St Mirren 2, Hearts 1.
02:00Thanks, Jane. Let's head to Dingwall now. The other match in the top flight is between
02:04Ross County and St Johnston. Here's Ian Auld.
02:07Yeah, good afternoon, David. 74 minutes gone here in Dingwall, where St Johnston are enjoying
02:12themselves under the caretaker tenure of Andy Kirk. The Saints have had to come from behind
02:17in this one, as County struck first on 19 minutes. Sloppy St Johnston possession was
02:22pounced on by Josh Nisbet, and his inch-perfect pass found Ronan Hale, who bulleted the ball
02:28past Ross Sinclair from inside the penalty box. Hale missed a replica of his goal 20
02:33minutes later. This time he chose his left foot and dragged the shot wide. Just when
02:38the Staggies looked good for the half-time lead, Saints hit back on 44 minutes. Dre Wright
02:43picked up the scraps from a corner, and his 25-yard shot sailed through a forest of bodies,
02:49eventually beating Ross Laidlaw. County had a penalty claim turned away in first-half
02:54stoppage time before the visitors took a surprise lead on the hour mark. Nicky Clark made it
02:592-1 with a sublime free kick, curling it beyond the wall and Laidlaw from the edge of the
03:05box. About 15 minutes to play here in Dingwall. It's Ross County 1, St Johnston 2.
03:10Julie, are we witnessing evidence of what you might call the co-caretaker-manager bounce?
03:16Yeah, quite possibly. We do see that quite a lot. I'm quite sure the players in the St
03:22Johnston dressing room will probably feel a bit of guilt because they haven't produced
03:27on the pitch. Craig Levine set up a squad and assembled a squad who certainly look like
03:35they had real potential this year, and they'll probably feel a lot of the responsibility for
03:40that and maybe coming out and really showing this afternoon what they are capable of.
03:46Well, I read Cammy, one of the players, had apologised, or he said in public he'd
03:50apologised to Craig Levine for letting him down. Yeah, I think, listen, as you say,
03:54when a manager gets sacked, there is a responsibility that goes on to the players
03:57that have maybe been underperforming. I do think St Johnston have got a better squad this season
04:02than they did last season. I think they've got more firepower, which we've seen, obviously,
04:06them scoring two goals today, but they're a real threat at the top end of the pitch.
04:10They showed great character today, again, going behind, it's quite easy just to collapse at that
04:14point, especially away from home, but they've managed to fight back and they've got this all
04:18ahead and it would be a brilliant result if they can take three points away from Dingwall.
04:21Are you a wee bit unlucky with injuries and suspensions, though? Cammy mentioned Sidibe,
04:25he picked up, I can't remember how many red cards it was in the win game, but they've had
04:30suspension injuries to defenders that's left them short at the back. Yeah, I think when you're at a
04:35club like St Johnston, these are the things that can really define your season. You don't have the
04:39budget of some of the other clubs within the league when you can have quality players to come
04:45in and back up these types of injuries or if you've got players missing through suspension.
04:50So that can sometimes be the deciding factor within how well you do that season. If you can
04:55avoid those types of scenarios, then it gives you an opportunity to get your best players onto
05:01the pitch. So they have been unfortunate, I agree with Cammy, I think that they do look like they've
05:06got better players. If they can just get them to gel together, if they can get their best team
05:12out onto the pitch every week and really see how they can gel as a team together, then
05:17there probably is more potential this year for St Johnston to do better.
05:21Perth sent his fans already thinking who's going to be taking over from Craig Levine. Andy Kirk's
05:25name's been mentioned, a few others. You've got Scott Brown at Ayr, John McGlynn at Falkirk, Tommy Wright,
05:31one of your former bosses, his name's been mentioned. I'm just wondering with this documentary
05:36they're filming at the moment, do you think they might go for a kind of Hollywood-style appointment?
05:40I don't know. Again, with the American owner that's now in charge, it'll be up to him who
05:45decides to bring in the club. I think first and foremost it'll be who he thinks can take the club
05:50forward as a manager or on the pitch. But yeah, there's all these different elements that could
05:54play a part in it, the documentary with the character that might come in, but there's a lot of good names
05:58in there. John McGlynn, brilliant season last season with Falkirk, amazing start to the season
06:02this season, so he's got to be a candidate that you would be looking certainly at within Scotland.
06:08Yeah, and the other game today, St Mirren 2-1 up on the Hearts, Stephen Naismith's troubles,
06:12no sign of an end to them. This looks like it could be another defeat, no wins so far in the
06:18league this season. No, no, they've really had a terrible start to the season. Considering the
06:24players that they've got available to them, for whatever reason they just don't seem to be gelling
06:28well together. They've got a great goalscorer in Shanklin who hasn't been producing goals this
06:34season and it really does show you how much they miss when he's not on top form. So yeah,
06:41they've looked nervous, they've looked shaky at the back, they're conceding far too many goals and
06:47they're really not scoring enough. I think that's only the third goal that they've scored in the
06:51league this season and for that in the sixth game is really not acceptable for a team like Hearts.
06:57Championship chat now. We're heading to Kirkcaldy Reethrovers at home to Hamilton this afternoon.
07:03Brian McLaughlin is on duty there. Brian, welcome. Yes, good afternoon David. Just under 15 minutes
07:08left of playing. It's Reethrovers in control. They lead Aki's by three goals to one. They found
07:13themselves a goal behind within the first minute. A penalty after Ollie Shaw was bundled to the
07:18ground by the Reeth goalkeeper Dabrowski. Kevin O'Hara stepped up and fired the visitors in front
07:25but that lead lasted until the 15th minute and what a goal this was. Lewis Stevenson signed in
07:31the summer of course from Hibernian. Over 600 games for Easter Roadside. I doubt he's ever scored a
07:36more terrific goal. It really was a half volley into the roof of the net giving the goalkeeper
07:42no chance and Reethrovers then back in front after 36 minutes. Again a wonderful through ball
07:50by Dylan Easton into the path of substitute Finlay Pollock who came on after Lewis Vaughan had to go
07:55off injured the 20-year-old on loan from Hearts. Joined the club just yesterday. A wonderful finish
08:01after Dylan Easton played the ball through and the third goal finished off by Easton after a cross
08:07into the box parried out by Dean Linus into the path of Easton from just six yards out
08:11and he fired home. Little to come from Hamilton in the second half. Just one shot from substitute
08:16Jamie Barjonas well saved by Dabrowski but Reeth well in control and manager Neil Collins on target
08:22for his first win of the season. It's Reethrovers three, Hamilton one. Yeah Reethrovers doing what
08:28they can to get off the bottom of the table. Air United I'm sure will be doing their best to get
08:32to the top of the table. I think Amy Canavan a point would do it away to Queen's Park. How are
08:36they faring? My maths is the same as yours David. I think that they do move top with this result
08:42where it is at Hampden. Queen's Park one, Air United one. After a quiet opening half hour this game really
08:47has burst into life. Queen's Park were headed ahead by an unlikely source in Kamikere. The former
08:52Dundee fullback rising high and unmarked to re-meet Roddy McGregor's deep but delightful
08:58corner. A goal which came against the run of play I think it's fair to say. Air at that point were
09:02much more dominant they just didn't really do anything with it. Ben Dempsey fired at Calum Ferry
09:06but the spider shot stopper tucked that away for a corner though it was only a warning shot for what
09:11was to come. Just before the hour mark the skipper scooped a fierce shot into the top corner connecting
09:18very very well with Dylan Wathart's cut back. The 17-year-old had been tremendous this afternoon.
09:22I believe that Manchester United have been sniffing around them. Scott Brown will be hoping that they
09:28stay away. What also was tremendous was substitute Roy Sela's smashing effort. It smacked off the
09:33crossbar and bounced about but crucially didn't cross the line. What a screamer that would have
09:38been honestly. It's a cracking game now we just have about 10 minutes left at Hampden where it is
09:43Queen's Park one, Air United one. At a point it'll be enough to get them to the top of the table but
09:48Falkirk who are not playing today would still have two games in hand so a draw's not really doing it
09:53for the year is it? No and I think that'll be the third draw in a row in the league. They started
09:57really well winning the first few games but the last two games they'll probably be disappointed
10:03because having started so well this season they would really be hoping to push Falkirk and
10:09I think when you have the games in hand you definitely want to try and get the points on the
10:13board so for me I'm quite sure that Air are going to be pushing and trying to get all three points.
10:18Queen's Park, another one of your former clubs. Scammy in decent form, two wins in their last three.
10:23They'd be happy with a point at home to contenders today would they not? Yeah I think they would be
10:28again they'll obviously be looking for three points but I think a point they would be
10:32relatively happy with the way that Air have started the season as Julie says that they're going there
10:37wanting to get the three points because they know that Falkirk have started the season so well and
10:41again just being on Falkirk have won every single game this season so that's unheard of really at
10:45a championship when you play that amount of games and get a run of wins so Air will be looking for
10:51them three points today but every game in the championship is a difficult game. The new boss
10:54of the Wraith Rovers, Neil Collins, looks as though he's going to get his first three points
10:59in the bag today. Wraith Rovers seem to be playing well according to Brian.
11:02Yeah lost their last three games, hadn't scored a goal, one goal they scored all season so to score
11:08three this afternoon will be really pleasing for them and we're hoping that this could really be
11:13the start to their season. They've done so well last season, really pushed and de-united for the
11:19majority of it and I'm sure they were hoping for much of the same and it hasn't started that way
11:24for them so now would be a great time for them to really kick in and try and push on. And Brian
11:30describing Lou Stevenson's goal there, proving that there's many a good tune played in an old
11:34fiddle Cameron. Yes still there's there's life left in the legs of Lou Stevenson, he's been a
11:38brilliant player over the years we know that with him so yes it's a it was obviously sounds like
11:43it's a fantastic goal for him. We're breaking off heading back to Dingwall there's another goal for
11:47Iain Hall to tell us about, Ross County St Johnston. It's a third goal for St Johnston, it's a second
11:52goal for Nicky Clark. Andy Kirk spoke pretty much about wanting goals from the forward, I tell you
11:58what he's been practicing free kicks all week by the looks of things here, he's just
12:02drilled in a free kick from about 25 yards out, he'd scored earlier from closer than that one, it
12:08was a beautiful free kick up and over the wall and beyond Ross Laidlaw, Ross County won St Johnston
12:14Thanks very much Iain, we're going to hear from Chick Young now, he is
12:17on championship duty at the Tail of the Bank watching Morton against Airdrie.
12:25Enjoying his perfect timing David because Cammy Ballantyne has just scored a second
12:28for Morton, a fantastic goal actually, they were leading one goal to an early game
12:33in the first half, Zach Delaney with the header and that Airdrie down to 10 men, Rhys Armstrong
12:38second yellow card, he was sent off, they've toiled in the wake of that, Morton have had a
12:43grip of the game and they have just scored an absolutely magnificent second goal, all three
12:48points will be staying put here at the Tail of the Bank, it is Morton 2 Airdrie 0. Thanks Chick,
12:54let's head to Firhill now where Gully Singh is watching Partick Thistle against Dunfermline, Gully
13:01Yes David, it's still Partick Thistle 0, Dunfermline 0, Sam Fisher almost opened the
13:05scoring for the Pars, it was a cross in from Maguenya, Fisher looked to pick the spot with
13:09the header, bottom left, Miles Robert and the Thistle goal could only look on, the header was
13:13also close and then 70 minutes, Thistle almost opened the scoring, the home side, the header
13:19flicked on from an Aidan Fitzpatrick free kick, Aaron Muirhead struck the bar but overall the
13:24quality in the game has been very much off here, not much to shout about even in the second half
13:30and it's still Partick Thistle 0, Dunfermline now. Thanks very much, I had neither sighted much
13:35to shout about this season although the Pars did get their first league win last week. Yeah and I
13:39think Partick being such a big club, it's been a really disappointing start to their season,
13:46they've been decent enough in their home form, it's their away form that's probably let them
13:51down but certainly when you're a club like Partick Thistle you want to be winning your home games.
13:55Tell you what's still happening in Dingwall this afternoon, we're heading back to join
14:00another goal, Ross County, Orson Johnson. It's gone for Ross County David, we've got about four
14:05minutes left of the 90 plus stoppage time as well, this one is going to end but have flourished
14:09that's for sure, Ross County back in Alex Samuel off the bench and converting from about six yards
14:15out from a wonderful cross on the left hand side from Aidan Denham, Ross County 2, St Johnston 3.
14:21Thanks Ian, now there was no Friday night football in the championship this week, instead two
14:25premiership clubs faced off under the floodlights at Fir Park for a place in the semi-finals of the
14:30League Cup. Motherwell at home to Dundee United, just a point between them in the league and it
14:34was a tight game at Fir Park, two great strikes in it from Zach Robinson for the Steelmen and
14:39Louis Moult for United against his old club before an injury time penalty from Lennon Miller,
14:46clinched victory for the Steelmen. Cammy, impressive stuff from the youngster at such a
14:50vital moment in a game. Yeah, so much pressure on that penalty again as you say in the stoppage
14:55time, they get that penalty, a young man steps up and has to put in the back of it, you know that
15:00that goal's going to give you that opportunity in the semi-finals of the League Cup, so
15:04brilliant moment from Lennon Miller and one that again you know what he's like, you know his
15:08characteristics, he's very cool, calm, technically a brilliant, brilliant player and yeah delighted
15:14to see him put that in the back of the net. Yeah and Motherwell into the last four, first team into
15:17the hat as they say, it's been a while since they've been in a semi-final in 2017, never won
15:23this trophy, I'm just wondering what can this do for Motherwell's, the rest of Motherwell's season?
15:28I think when you're a club like Motherwell, yes you've got aspirations of getting, playing European
15:34football, they've watched St Mirren and Kilmarnock and Hearts obviously as well do it this season,
15:40but certainly cup runs are really important, you want to have those special days where you can go
15:45to Hampden for a cup final, semi-final about a great occasion for them as well, playing at the
15:50National Stadium and they can relax now over the weekend and wait and see who they're going to be
15:55playing. Jim Goodwin saying it was just about the worst feeling he's had as a manager to lose a
16:00quarter-final, you know and the chance to go to Hampden with, in that fashion, a penalty right at
16:05the death. Yeah it is and listen they scored in the 84th minute with Moult scoring, you think you're
16:09taking your team to extra time there and obviously giving yourself the opportunity to lose that late
16:14goal is a penalty, it's always a signal, it's a signal for the manager, the players, but they'll
16:18just need to get over that, they'll need to distance themselves down and get ready for league action
16:22going forward. Yeah a couple more quarter-finals tonight, we'll head now to Ibrox, Rangers the
16:27cup holders at home to Dundee and we'll let Al Lamont set the scene for us. Yes hi David, welcome
16:33to Ibrox for the very first time this season as the cup holders continue their defence of the
16:40trophy against a Dundee side that stumbled for the first time this campaign on the last outing
16:46at Ross County. Rangers have made three changes from the victory over Dundee United and that
16:50includes a first start for new signing Nadeem Bayrami, he is joined in the starting 11 by
16:56Dujuan Sterling and Vaclav Cerny, Diamonde Dowell and Cortez all dropping to the bench. As for Dundee
17:04after that defeat they made a change in goal with Trevor Carson coming in for McCracken
17:10and also three further changes, three outfield changes as Jordan McGee comes in, Oluwasun
17:16Adewumi comes in for his first start for the club since joining on loan from Burnley and Sammy
17:23Braybrooke also into the starting 11 as Ingram Mulligan and Palmer Holden join McCracken on the
17:29bench. It should be a decent contest though Dundee have been in fine form until that defeat and
17:34Rangers well certainly deserving of victory against Dundee's neighbours Dundee United last
17:40week but interesting to see how they fare back in front of their home fans in their home stadium
17:45and incidentally David I think Motherwell won the league cup in the 50s. Oh thanks Al, just
17:50checking there just making sure he's paying attention. So this Al's saying it's an interesting
17:56one, it's an intriguing fixture because you get Rangers back at Ibrox first time this season,
18:01how much of a difference will that make? I think being back at your own stadium will make a big
18:06difference but we also know that it can have the opposite effect because at Ibrox the fans are
18:13really close to the pitch, they can be unforgiving when the performances are not going favourably
18:21so yes I think it is a plus but it also can swing in Dundee's favour if they try and stay within the
18:27game for as long as possible. Dundee though slumped a defeat last week at Ross County first
18:32of the season. Yeah but they're still a dangerous team for me at the top end of the pitch you've got
18:36players that can hurt you I think first and foremost Dundee want to keep Rangers quiet as
18:40Julie says if you keep them quiet when they've got this feel-good factor back at Ibrox everyone's
18:45been missing Ibrox this season the fans are back but if you keep them quiet for the first 30 minutes
18:49the rumbles will start to happen because demand's there so again that's where Dundee can go and
18:54hurt Rangers but Rangers we're almost expecting Rangers to go out and the season to start from
19:00here on in since I've been back at Ibrox so we'll wait and see what happens tonight. So that's an
19:04all-premiership tie at Ibrox meanwhile at Pataudry it's a premiership side against League Two
19:10opposition Aberdeen versus the Spartans Tyrone Smith is on hand to get us in the mood for that one
19:18Yeah David Pataudry as you say it's the venue this evening for what's a classic David and Goliath
19:23League Cup encounter as high-flying Premiership Aberdeen well they roll out the welcome mat to the
19:28Spartans of League Two Don's boss Jimmy Tolleen he's well made just a perfect start to life in
19:34Scottish football putting together an unblemished record of 10 wins from 10 games in all competitions
19:39can he take his side to 11th heaven tonight well booking a semi-final trip to Hamden would be the
19:45perfect way to do it but Tolleen he's not a man who gets carried away and he'll certainly not be
19:50looking beyond this game at all but the Spartans well they'll be coming up here looking to tear up
19:55the script tonight it's incredible when you think about it just a couple of years ago they were
19:59playing in the Lowland League now they're just a game away from a place in the last four of one of
20:04the Scottish Games major cup competitions make no mistake Dougie Samuel side who are fourth in League
20:10Two the huge underdogs for this one but they've already claimed one premiership scalp in this
20:15competition taking care of Ross County in the last round and with the pressure off Samuel will be
20:20dreaming of well of upsetting the odds once again this time in the Granite City in terms of the Team
20:27News Aberdeen paying huge respect I would say to Spartans a very strong lineup for them they've
20:32only made one change to their starting lineup it sees Leighton Clarkson coming in for Toppy Keskin
20:38and who drops to the bench as for Spartans they've made four changes to the side that drew with Elgin
20:44in League Two in midweek it sees Kevin Waugh, Callum Booth, Cammy Russell and Jamie Dishington
20:50coming in to their side the referee for this one David's Ross Hardy thanks very much Tyrone setting
20:55the scene nicely for us there Spartans as he mentions huge underdogs they did knock out
21:01Ross County but then when you look at Aberdeen's start to the season 10 out of 10 going for their
21:0511th successive win and a tough one yeah it's a really tough one and I'm sure they'll be enjoying
21:12the occasion I'm sure even to get to this stage has been massive for the Spartans they've had a
21:20decent season in League Two defensively they've been quite sound but I think this is just a
21:26massive massive step you've got an Aberdeen side who have been relentless so far this season
21:31performances have been great results have been ideal and they go into this tie in brilliant form
21:39so although it's a cup game for me it would be a huge huge ask for Spartans to get anything out of it
21:45I was just going to say though they did beat Ross County and if you look at Aberdeen they narrowly
21:49got past Queen's Park 1-0 beat Airdrie in the group stage just by two goals to one I was at that one
21:55it seems when they're playing against lower league opposition maybe they're not as convincing
21:59yeah but again them two games were maybe earlier on in the new manager's reign as well they've picked
22:04up pace since then they've really got momentum they've beat some some really good top flight
22:08teams I just think if this had been in Edinburgh rather than Aberdeen it might have been a more
22:12difficult tie yes on a different pitch it's at home for Aberdeen I pretty much can see them walking
22:19all over Spartans and putting them to the sword so it'll be a difficult night I like what you did there
22:25time for a quick tip toe through the trail board I fancy start your afternoon tomorrow with
22:31off the ball at midday on Radio Scotland why not followed by live commentary of Celtic versus
22:36Falkirk in the League Cup two matches live in the SWPL tomorrow Glasgow City versus Hibs at one
22:43o'clock on the iPlayer and at our website then Rangers against Hearts at ten past four on BBC
22:48Alba highlights of all the weekend's matches on Monday night as usual with Jane Lewis on BBC
22:54Scotland in the Europa League Rangers are away to Malmo on Thursday that's on Sportsound with
23:00coverage starting at five and on Friday it's the first of our live Scottish Cup matches this season
23:05Dalkeith Thistle from the eighth tier of the Scottish Football Pyramid hosting Broxburn
23:11Athletic who are from the fifth if you're keeping track of that sort of thing I'm sure they are and
23:15that's at 7.30 on BBC Scotland that's what lies ahead but right now I believe we are heading to
23:22Greenock Chick Young will bring us the first of tonight's full-time reports he'll tell us what
23:27happened in the match involving Morton and Airdrie well what happened was a satisfactory
23:33three points for the local team this afternoon they won this one by two goals to nil Zach
23:38Delaney gave Morton the lead just before halftime with a fine header one nil at halftime and I think
23:44the things really turned for Airdrie from bad to worse second yellow card for Rhys Armstrong a
23:50dreadful challenge I have to say he had already been booked in any case red card for him Airdrie
23:56then and it was only going one way for Airdrie after that I have to say they are anchored at
24:01the bottom of the championship this evening but the all three points which go to Morton courtesy
24:06of that and a second goal Callum Ballantyne with a magnificent strike it really shelled into the
24:12corner from just inside the box two nil on the afternoon all three points for Morton and a
24:17brighter afternoon for them as they drift up this championship division to sixth place as I said
24:24it's bad news for afternoon a bad news afternoon for Airdrie they're anchored at the bottom of
24:28the league finished here a capital Morton to Airdrie now thanks very much Chick we're going to
24:34rejoin Ian Old now he has another big dodd of drama from Dingwall to relate to us yeah it's
24:41Dingwall and drama this afternoon David Ross County have found an equalizer a wonderful ball from the
24:47right hand side all the way towards the back post and Akio Wright who scored his first goal for the
24:52club last week against Dingwall is on target it's a big header at the back post three apiece and we
24:58still have about two three minutes to go there might be a winner yet thanks very much Ian so
25:03five goal thriller in Dingwall six goals actually I just told you my maths wasn't all that but I mean
25:10that is an exciting game today definitely the game of the weekend and the premier
25:13sure it has and what an incredible header to get that equalizer and it was an out swinging free
25:19kick and he finds himself right finds himself all the way the kind of back post and his header is
25:25absolutely brilliant it's right into the corner goalkeepers get absolutely no chance
25:30and yeah an incredible way to to level the game all right so it looks like a point for Ross County
25:36out of that one they'll be delighted with that one yeah listen the way the game was going Don
25:39Cowie would have probably I thought the game was past him especially you're watching it they weren't
25:45really in the in the game too much until they got that second goal which is obviously gave them
25:49belief but as Julie said that header is an incredible header from where he is in the in
25:53the box and again it looks like they're pushing to try and get the winner wow interesting stuff
25:58in the highlands let's head to Hamden now Queen's Park against Air United one of the games in the
26:02championship this afternoon it was all square when we last heard from Amy but now the match
26:07has reached its conclusion no late drama here David it does end at Hamden Queen's Park one
26:13Air United one an air do move back top of the Scottish Premiership but crucially on goal
26:18difference their unbeaten start to the season does continue as well although it looked like it wasn't
26:24when Kami Kerr headed Callum Davidson Spiders into a first half lead he rose high and unmarked
26:29to meet Roddy McGregor's corner arguably against the run of play but Air United's deserved equalizer
26:34did come through captain Ben Dempsey in the midfielder scooped a sensational shot into the
26:38top corner after 17 year old Dylan Waters cute cut back substitute Mo Sela smashed Roy Sela sorry
26:44Mo Sela my goodness I'm getting my players all mixed up substitute Roy Sela smashed a sensational
26:49effort off the crossbar but it failed to bounce over the line as air's relentless relentless
26:54search for a winner but it was all just too little too late did continue but it didn't bear any
26:59through as I say air do move back top off the table I think Queen's Park dropped to fifth
27:05following Patrick Thistle's late winner if that does remain a winner against them
27:08Fernland Athletic but it's all over here at the National Stadium Queen's Park won Air United won
27:14thanks very much Amy let's head to Paisley now it's all over between St Mirren and Hearts in the
27:18Premiership here's Jane it certainly is all over and it's ended St Mirren to Hearts one here in
27:24Paisley that's now eight straight defeats for Hearts their poor run continues the home fans
27:30some of them staying behind 1600 travelled through today some have stayed behind they've
27:34rushed to the front of the stand and they are not impressed with their fans at all Lauren
27:39Shanklin the captain has gone over to applaud them but I fancy he won't go much further than
27:43that penalty box because they're not impressed at all but from a St Mirren point of view
27:48yeah that's ended a poor run for them their first win of the league season now since the opening day
27:54of the season it was a St Mirren who went ahead early on in this one at first look it looked like
27:59it was Richard Taylor who rose well who was credited with the goal but there was then a change
28:03of heart it was definitely an own goal by Gerard Taylor and that goal came after a really good
28:08start from Hearts and they did eventually get back into this game and what a goal that was scored by
28:13the equaliser for Craig Halkett a lovely lovely header quite brilliant header as he ran onto the
28:18ball from the corner but it was a frustrating watch at times from Hearts point of view and
28:23their manager Stephen Naismith at times did not like what he was seeing they were really good
28:27going forward but they just couldn't do anything with it and he was left even more frustrated
28:31as St Mirren went 2-1 ahead in this one Olyassana was on his toes to catch out what was a
28:37lacklustre Hearts defence long ball come over but got the slight flick on and Olyassana was
28:42alert to finish off from close range the second half was fairly lively there was a couple of half
28:47chances for Hearts nothing really had to come of it though but St Mirren squandered a couple of
28:52really good chances Kevin Van Veen probably should have sealed it in the 83rd minute
28:55he raced down the right he cut in and beat the defender but he shot just wide and then Craig
29:00Gordon was forced into a quite brilliant save about just what seconds probably remaining on
29:05the clock a sore one for Hearts but St Mirren have they been revived in this one it finished here
29:102-1 to St Mirren. Thanks June let's head to Kirkcaldy now we'll rejoin Brian McLaughlin
29:15who's watching Wraith against Hamilton in the championship. A real six goal thriller here at
29:20Starrs Park it's finished Wraith Rovers three Hamilton Akeys three the visitors in the lead
29:25after the first minute Kevin O'Hara from the penalty spot after Ollie Shaw had been bundled
29:30down inside the box by Dabrowski but after that Wraith took control Louis Stevenson with a pile
29:36driver from 30 yards with the equaliser before Finlay Pollock put the home side in front nine
29:42minutes before the break following up from a wonderful through ball for Dylan Easton and Easton
29:47himself made it 3-1 to the home side after Dean Linus parried out across into the path of the
29:52Wraith midfielder who made no mistake from inside the six yard area but then with 10 minutes left
29:57for play Hamilton pulled one back Connor Smith the ball took a deflection on the way in past
30:03Dabrowski but that set up a grandstand finish for the visitors and after a couple of good saves by
30:08Dabrowski Ollie Shaw was on target there to knock the ball into the back of the net much to the
30:14delight of the small band of Akeys fans who'd made their way here to Fife it finished here a dramatic
30:19day here at Kirkcaldy Wraith Rovers three Hamilton Akeys three I tell you what folks I'm struggling to
30:24keep up with all these late goals and here comes another one Gullies Singh will tell us about this
30:28one it's in the match between Partick Thistle and Dunfermline yes David it's the home side that
30:34take all three points Partick Thistle one Dunfermline now a game void of any real chances of quality
30:40just the only goal with moments left as Thistle picked up their second win of the season courtesy
30:45of Aaron Fitzpatrick Brian Graham could have opened the scoring just after four minutes
30:49new loanee signing Keneo Meg was floated across met by Tommy Fogarty who cleared for a corner
30:55on 15 minutes a clash of heads involving Harry Milne and Fogarty caused a stop in play
30:59with the powers defender showing a yellow card stoppages were very much the tale of the opening
31:04period James McPakeside had the first real effort in 40 minutes a Ritchie Hossler effort despite
31:10of the post Fogarty was then brought off for the away side Sam Fisher brought on who almost
31:15found the opener into the second half former Mulliwell midfielder Craig Clay who joined the
31:19puns yesterday was brought on from Lewis McCann but then on 60 minutes as I mentioned Sam Fisher
31:24produced the biggest chance of the match for the header that had Thistle keeper Myles Roberts
31:28well beaten 10 minutes later Thistle were then denied they were denied by the bar after Aaron
31:34Mearhead's header clipped the bar after an aid in Fitzpatrick free kick it was Fitzpatrick though
31:40towards the end of the game who was involved it was a strike late on he evaded a few challenges
31:44found himself on the box and has left the footage Southern Kremlin keeper Dennis Mehmetz it's ended
31:51here perfect Thistle won the Kremlin now Chris Dolan's team with a second win of the season as
31:56the home side take all three points thanks very much Gully we are heading once again to Dingwall
32:01now Ross County against St Johnson I don't know how you've got any more goals for us Ian or maybe you have
32:06no no six goals is enough David full time in Dingwall where both clubs earn a share of the
32:11spoils in an epic six goal encounter Ross County took the lead on 19 minutes when Josh Nisbet
32:17punished sloppy St Johnston defending and he slid a through ball for Ronan Hale to drill past Ross
32:22Sinclair from inside the penalty box the Saints pulled level a minute before the break a near
32:27side corner cleared as far as Dre Wright who fired in from 25 yards helped by a deflection to
32:33score his first goal in 14 months St Johnston gained control of the game when Nicky Clark
32:38beat Ross Laidlaw with a brilliant free kick from the edge of the 18 yard box Clark added a second
32:43and a third for the Saints on 84 minutes and this free kick was even better than his first with a
32:48brilliant effort over the wall and into the net two minutes later County hit back when Alex Samuel
32:53converted a beautiful Aidan Denham left hand side cross from close range and then Don Cowie's side
32:59found an equaliser on the 97th minute Jack Reeves free kick down the right hand side find Achille
33:05Wright at the back post and his brilliant header completed the comeback full time Ross County 3
33:10St Johnston 3 thanks very much to Ian Auld at Dingwall there now folks sit back and relax
33:17because it's time to have a look at the old scoreboard with the classified results round up

36:45Well let's have a quick look at the league tables. I think we'll start with the premiership
36:49that's better yeah there we go so men up to fifth thanks to a 2-1 win over Hearts who remain
36:54rooted to the foot of the table with just one point no wins in six league games no wins in
37:01eight all competitions this season Ross County and St Johnson shared the spoils in Dingwall
37:08Ross County in eighth on six points St Johnson in tenth on four. On to the championship
37:16Here you go just to confirm that my maths and Amy Canavan's maths are equally good and correct
37:22at least I got some things right today Air United go to the top of the table by virtue of goal
37:26difference thanks to a point they picked up at Queen's Park today but Falkirk in second place
37:32have played two games fewer Falkirk and at Celtic Park tomorrow in the league cup in the quarter
37:38final there let's have a look Partick Thistle in fourth good win for them today they move on to
37:43eight points just above Queen's Park and Wraith Overs on four points now level with Adrianians
37:53Let's have a look at league one Aloha Athletic they are the table toppers a one nil win for them
37:59today they're a point ahead of Montrose who are at the foot of the table
38:02eeksy peeksy between Dumbarton and Arbroath both those sides on six points
38:07Finally we'll have a look at league two Peterhead just a point ahead of East Fife at the top of the
38:11table there Elgin City and third and three teams a wee bit of a traffic jam at the bottom Edinburgh
38:17City, Stranraer and Forth are all on five points there we go that's how it looks today I suppose
38:24the headlines will be about Stephen Naismith and Hearts still looking for the first league win of
38:30the season eight games without a win all competitions the pressure is on and I'm
38:34games without a win all competitions the pressure is intensifying on them one would assume yes
38:40building absolutely is building the frustration from the fans you can see that after the game
38:43one point from six league games isn't good enough for Hearts there's nowhere near where they want to
38:48be at and yes the pressure will be building they've got a massive game at home to Ross County next
38:52weekend and it's a must-win game for me it is a must-win game for Stephen Naismith next weekend
38:57good win for St Mirren today though yeah great one yeah I mean we all know that it's been a
39:03tricky season for them in in Europe and I think going back to their home ground getting a really
39:08good result against Hearts will be I'll be really pleasing for Stephen. Van Veen on the pitch but
39:13not on target had a couple of chances? He did, he had a couple of chances to hit the back of the net
39:18one of them he done really well with made it for himself but yes still to score. Right folks I'm
39:23afraid that's just about that for this week highlights of today's Premiership matches
39:27coming up at 7.15 on BBC Scotland and coverage of those two League Cup matches
39:32continues on Radio Scotland I am indebted as ever to Julie Fleeting and Cammie Bell and
