00:00My name is Mohd. Afan bin Mohd. Rosli. I am the Chief Timekeeper for the MAM Malaysian Cup Prix in 2024.

00:20My job as the Chief Timekeeper is to prepare the qualifying decision for each session for the Club of the Coast to be audited.

00:30For that, we use a timekeeping system where there are two modes in this system.

00:39For practice and qualifying, it is a different mode and for the qualification, it is a different mode.

00:46For practice and qualifying, the mode only records the time of one lap and is sorted according to the fastest and next fastest.

01:02As you can see, the fastest lap will be recorded in purple,

01:09while the fastest lap will be recorded in green.

01:18However, the most important thing in this timekeeping system is to ensure that all processes run smoothly.

01:25For example, sometimes there are motorcycles that are hit by transponders and so on.

01:31So, as a Chief Timekeeper, you need to be alert to do it manually,

01:36making sure that the lap times are fully recorded.

01:53This is the individual task behind the scenes as a Chief Timekeeper.
