00:00that I hereby make a clarion call for a high-level meeting at the 80th UNGA to debate the threats
00:07of these weapons to peace and security and to devise effective solutions. Antigua and Barbuda
00:14cannot remain silent as innocent lives are destroyed and generations are condemned to fear
00:21and hatred. The events unfolding in the Middle East, particularly the conflict between Israel,
00:27Hamas and Hezbollah are deeply troubling. The violence is destabilizing the entire region
00:34and reverberating across the world. Every missile fired, every life lost deepens wounds already too
00:42many to bear. The violations of international humanitarian law are alarming. We call on all
00:50parties to end the suffering by sitting down at the table of peace, where sincere negotiations
00:57can lead to a lasting solution. We believe that the only sustainable resolution is the creation
01:04of two sovereign states with borders respected and rights upheld. It is time for the people of
01:12this region and all conflict zones to end these conflicts and to give peace a chance. Let us give
01:19peace a chance.
