00:00For our RSP members of PhilHealth, the Benefits Committee approved the removal of the single confinement policy of our countrymen beneficiaries of the agency.
00:10Noel Talacay for the details.
00:15A decade member of PhilHealth in Erol has also experienced two times being hit by a type of disease.
00:24One of these was not answered by the Health Insurance of the country.
00:28Any disease should be covered, even if it is repeated.
00:32It should be like that so that all diseases are covered.
00:36Erol experienced the single confinement policy of PhilHealth
00:41where it is stated that PhilHealth did not answer if their member was hospitalized twice for the same disease within 70 days.
00:53For example, you are now confined by typhoid fever.
00:58After two weeks, you are confined for the same illness, typhoid fever.
01:04You will not be allowed to be confined for the second time for typhoid fever.
01:09Because CalTAS is continuously paying monthly premium contributions to PhilHealth,
01:16it is said that this policy should be changed.
01:19Should the single confinement be removed?
01:23CalTAS is too big now.
01:26It seems that Erol's wish will now be fulfilled
01:29because PhilHealth confirmed that the single confinement policy will be removed.
01:35This is already approved by the benefits committee of the board of the agency.
01:41And in Viennese, it will be submitted to the PhilHealth Committee on Bank.
01:46So if someone is confined for the same illness within 90 days,
01:51we will pay them both.
01:54And this is not only for some diseases, but for all diseases covered by PhilHealth.
02:00According to the study of the Department of Health,
02:03more than 26,000 claims were not approved by PhilHealth due to the single confinement policy
02:13According to the DOH, it is time to fix PhilHealth's policy
02:19to ease the expenses of Filipinos in their health,
02:23according to the Universal Health Care Act 2019.
02:27Meanwhile, PhilHealth will also answer prescription eyeglasses,
02:32crutches,
02:33walkers,
02:34and wheelchairs,
02:35which are often needed by senior citizens and persons with disabilities.
02:40This is also in line with the call of their members and the Congress' order.
02:46Well, in response to the requests and of course the instruction of the Congress,
02:54we are studying if we can cover the so-called prescription glasses,
03:04assistive devices like wheelchair, crutches, cane, or walkers.
03:11And this is currently under our study, including the financial impact analysis.
03:18And hopefully, this can also be released before the end of the year
03:24and become effective at the beginning of 2025.
03:28According to the leadership of PhilHealth,
03:30they will continue to make steps to improve their policy to benefit every Filipino.
03:38According to the DOH, in the new Philippines, every life is important.
03:43Noel Talacay for Pambansang TV in the new Philippines.
