00:00our squad. Here's the grid then, Bagnaia, Martin, Bascini is your front row, Brad Binder lines up
00:06fourth and remember he was up in second at the first corner yesterday, Pedro Acosta and Marco
00:10Bezzecchi joining Horn and Rowe too. Bezzecchi has opted at the moment over here for the soft rear
00:15tyre. Mark Marquez, Maverick Pinares and Fabio Quattararo at heavyweight third row
00:20with Frankie Morbidelli, Alessio Spargaro and Miguel Oliveira right behind. Fabio Giugiano
00:25Antonio lines up 13th from Raul Fernandez and Luka Mourinho.
00:55So the MotoGP riders start their warm-up laps here in the Misano World Circuit.
01:24Marco Simoncelli, four points is the gap separating series leader, Jorge Martin.
01:3326 points he was clear at Bagnaia at this stage just two weeks ago. You can see there
01:40the pink flares once again being fired off by the Anea Bascini fan club at turn three.
01:46It was very cloudy race day here two weeks ago and as Anea said there was a lot of pink cloud
01:51around as well. A victory then today, a victory for Bagnaia. He will take back the lead in the
01:57MotoGP World Championship. This has very much been Ducati territory hasn't it of late. Jorge
02:02Martin needs another brilliant start from the middle of that second row of the grid and then
02:06can he hang on to the lead that he relinquished right here in this third sector. Distracted by
02:12the track limits warning he got on the dashboard that allowed Bagnaia to sweep on through for his
02:17fourth sprint win of the season and that is why there are just four points covering the top two
02:22riders in the World Championship. As we head into round 14, as we head into the most important part
02:29of the season, it's race time folks. It's crunch time in this year's MotoGP World Championship as
02:34Misano 2 kicks off a series of two triple headers in the space of seven weeks. Seven Grand Prix's
02:42packed into our busy and hectic final nine weeks of the season. The countdown now well and truly
02:50underway. Bagnaia trying to win the World Championship for the third year in a row. Jorge
02:55Martin trying to end Bagnaia's domination of MotoGP. What a day lies in store potentially for
03:02Bagnaia's 100th Grand Prix start. A Ducati 100 win beckoning potentially here in Misano. It is lights
03:09out and we are racing in MotoGP here in immediate Romagna and once again Jorge Martin has made the
03:15perfect launch away from second on the goodie. He's on the inside of Eripeco Bagnaia. He's in a little bit
03:20hot though. Around the outside though will go Bagnaia and Bagnaia listen to the roar of the Italian fans.
03:26Martin got the drop on the World Champion into turn one but running hot and Bagnaia now just
03:31where he wanted to be in first. Bastianini and Binda were bumping elbows on the way down to turn
03:36one. It has not been a good start for Mark Marquez who's at the inside of Fabio Quattroro. He has not
03:41made progress from seventh on the grid. So how much already may Martin come to ruin regret that
03:47little mistake running in hot in that second corner because he opened the door and allowed Bagnaia
03:52to sweep into the lead. Oh Bastianini big moment on the front end there with a new front tyre
03:58and a full fuel tank into turn eight. He went he was almost down there wasn't he Bastianini.
04:02There he is though in third place. Acosta having a look at his fellow KTM rider Brad Binda. Mark
04:07Marquez is now next behind them. He passed Marco Bettecchi into Quattroro. Came from a long way
04:11back but got the move done he's up to sixth. 26 and a half long laps to go here then for
04:15Tega Bagnaia but this is the outcome on the first lap he would have dreamt of when he went to bed
04:21here last night in Misano. There is Mark Marquez at the moment up into sixth place. He's picked off
04:28Marco Bettecchi in that second sector on this first lap. Into 15 we go. It is Bagnaia being
04:35hotly chased here by Jorge Martin in second place. As you were in terms of the grid positions isn't it
04:41Bagnaia from Martin from Bastianini. Binda got away quite well in fourth place but there was
04:48almost contact between himself and Bastianini. Bastianini was very very keen to keep that KTM
04:53behind him and make sure that he went with the top two as they came out of turn one. Of course
04:57Martin led into turn one but didn't leave out of it so Bagnaia's lead is just under two tenths
05:02of a second at the end of lap one. Martin did feel though it would be easier to follow Bagnaia in the
05:07race this afternoon on that medium rear tyre and in these slightly cooler conditions. Somebody's
05:11gone down we've got a yellow flag out in the first sector just trying to find out so it's Brad Binda
05:17yeah Binda's name is tumbling down the leaderboard as Jorge Martin goes side by side briefly through
05:23the kink of turn seven. Thought about a move on the inside of Bagnaia. Bagnaia though just too good
05:28on the brakes of his factory Ducati. Turn four it is then that has caught up. Binda had a crash at
05:33turn five in qualifying didn't he on a Saturday morning. So Martin wants track position he wants
05:39to do the leading he wants Peco Bagnaia to do the chasing. The top three already with a little bit
05:45of an advantage now of course Brad Binda now missing from that gap back from Bastianini.
05:49Pedro Acosta therefore inherits fourth place and Marc Marquez up into fifth. We're on board with
05:54Martin it was right here where he made that crucial mistake yesterday in the sprint. In fact it was
05:58Bagnaia who looked like he was getting a little bit loose through there. He did a little bit of
06:01a snap on the rear tyre wasn't there for Bagnaia as Martin charges into that first gear turn 14.
06:06The good news for Bastianini fans of course right now is he has made the start and he has got away
06:12with both Bagnaia and Martin which didn't happen in the sprint and we know how good an air can be
06:17in those final six, seven, eight laps when the tyres are starting to wear off. So the beast in prime
06:23position here isn't he to maybe get ahead and try and win this Misano Grand Prix. They sweep through
06:29turn two. Bagnaia, Martin and Bastianini and he is the quickest rider on circuit 131.497.
06:36Here comes Martin on the brakes into turn four. He's going to run in that little bit hot and Bagnaia
06:41just let off the brakes cut back to the inside line. What an early battle this is shaping up
06:47between the three GP24s. Who's got the better drive? Coming out of six they power through the
06:52six gear seven. Now Hanna breaks into turn eight quarter corner. It's Bagnaia that is standing firm
06:58at the front but there was a clear statement of intent there. The move on the inside of turn four
07:02from Martin. Yeah this is slowing the pace up. Bastianini was comfortably quicker than the two
07:06ahead of him on that last. Look at Martin just swarming all over the back of the world champion
07:11looking to get a better run out of Tramonto but this is bringing Pedro Costa back into play.
07:16Costa started this lap nearly a second behind Bastianini. He's almost cut that gap in half.
07:20Bagnaia had another twitch on the gas coming out of Tramonto. Just put it with that medium rear tire
07:25and these cooler conditions whether he's just struggling to get a bit of temperature a bit of
07:29heat into that rear tire. That has been a problem that riders have talked about throughout this
07:32weekend but there's been a couple of snaps on that rear for Pekka Bagnaia. Yeah Costa look how close
07:38he is now behind Bastianini. So clearly Bagnaia running a pace. I don't think he's running this
07:43slowly on purpose because he wouldn't want Martin and the immediate queue behind him to be this
07:48close at this stage of the race. We'll track the lap times. Bagnaia did a 31.8. Pedro Costa sets
07:53the fastest lap of the race on a 31.4. Yeah Costa's eyes are just lighting up aren't they inside that
07:58helmet as he comes into our picture there. He's being followed by Marc Marquez who did a 1.31.661
08:05as he tries to go with the rookie ahead of him on board again with Martin. This time around there's
08:11no way through. Bagnaia keeps the door well and truly shut in the Spaniard's face. He'll flick it
08:15left and now through turn six. He was at five yesterday in the sprint where Bagnaia had a big
08:20scare on the front when he clipped the inside curve. Now then on board with Martin. He's going
08:25to go for the inside line once again. Bagnaia can't turn and he's going to try and cut back
08:29to the tighter inside line. He certainly is. He certainly is but he's made a mistake there trying
08:34to be aggressive and counter Martin's move and now Martin then has hit the front. Game on!
08:40So what does Pekka Bagnaia do now and can Jorge Martin try and take advantage of his early
08:45hesitation perhaps from Pekka Bagnaia and try and streak clear at the front. Bastiani of course
08:51rather hesitant and not too keen to launch too aggressive a move on his teammate from there as
08:55they battle for second and third and Costa still pretty much keeping Marc Marquez at arm's length
09:00in that battle for fourth. Yeah it just looks like Bagnaia hasn't got the sort of optimum confidence
09:04with that rear tyre at the moment. He'll be coming in very very shortly or should be coming in by now.
09:09Here we go then this is Martin. This is brilliant isn't it by the world championship leader easing
09:14on the inside of Bagnaia. How hard is it to outbrake Bagnaia into turn eight in Misano?
09:20He wasn't giving that up was he? Well that an almighty fight there was Pekka Bagnaia. He had
09:24to back out of it into the first corner we go then at the start of lap five. Some lap that by Martin
09:29in 1.31.244. Six tenths he was quicker than Bagnaia who did of course have to shut off briefly coming
09:37out of eight. Yeah he had to make sure he didn't run into the back of Jorge Martin that could have
09:40easily made some damage to the front of that Ducati. Of course remember here a couple of weeks ago Pedro
09:44Acosta made contact with a pre-match Primate Ducati and ripped some of the aero off the front of his KTM.
09:49Acosta still doing a fine job in fourth place. Personal best for him a 1.31.585 as Bastianini
09:55now looks like he might be making a move on Pekka Bagnaia but there's a graphic demonstration of how
09:59difficult the world champion is to outbrake. Yeah the move that Martin made on Pekka into turn eight
10:04was not able to be replicated by Bastianini although he can't get that rear tire hooked up.
10:09Can he coming out of nine there Bagnaia and now look he's wide he's wide what on earth is going
10:14on here with Pekka Bagnaia because now Bastianini picks him off. Martin is going through Tramonto.
10:19Martin is clearing off into the distance here a 1.31.244 was three tenths quicker than anything
10:25we saw in Misano one two weeks ago. I think Pekka Bagnaia just is having problems struggling with
10:31that rear tire. Still a long way to go this is still only lap 5 of 27 but you do not want to be
10:37giving Jorge Martin this kind of head start in any Grand Prix because Martin his motivation will
10:43arguably higher than Bagnaia's after what happened here a fortnight ago in that flag to flag race
10:47when Martin dropped the ball and lost a huge chunk of his championship advantage. As it stands he
10:52could be opening it back out again. Well Bagnaia might have more bother coming his way with Pedro
10:57Acosta behind him. In fact Acosta still in the high 1.38. Once again Bagnaia unable to find a 1.31 lap.
11:05This is looking back to Acosta that's a big moment coming through turn 13 was it almost
11:11an unlucky turn 13 there for Acosta. The helicopter shot then picks up the lead group. Martin
11:17sweeps through turn five then he'll flick it left through six. Pekka Bagnaia 1.2 seconds behind
11:24Martin. He was then at the start of this lap six is not going to plan at all for the world champion.
11:31Pedro Acosta closing in yeah it does look as if Bagnaia is maybe not just getting that Ducati
11:36hooked up out of the corners as he perhaps doesn't have the confidence and the feedback he wants from
11:41that medium rear tire. So Jorge Martin could not have expected the first six laps to have planned
11:47out any better than this particularly when he went a little wide into turn one at the start of the race
11:52and let Bagnaia through. Martin with a nine tenth of a second advantage over Bastionini and
11:57factory Ducati team I guess if Bagnaia is going to struggle they'll want to get off after Martin
12:01and try and limit his points return. Yeah he's already lost two tenths of a second halfway around
12:05this lap to Bastionini directly ahead of him. This is Brad Binder who has remounted his factory KTM.
12:11We're looking ahead from Pedro Acosta's Gascat machine yeah and Binder just washing out the front
12:16there maybe just taking a little bit of weight off the front as he picked the power back up.
12:21Out of the Mazzano corner here in Mazzano and in dreamland at the moment isn't he Jorge Martin.
12:27Bagnaia has regrouped and maybe that medium rear tire now he has got working underneath him at 131.524
12:33is his best lap of the Grand Prix though still two tenths shy of Martin and the beast directly
12:39ahead of him. He just has not got the speed of the two ahead of him at this stage. It is the damage
12:44already done for Paco Bagnaia he's 1.4 seconds off the race lead which doesn't sound like much
12:49and it isn't much but at this level that is a difficult gap to bridge for Paco Bagnaia as he's
12:55got of course his teammate in there Bastionini in the middle of the gap between himself and his
12:58title rival. This is Fabio Guattararo in seventh place. Marco Bezzecchi is immediately ahead of us
13:03and Frankie Morbidelli right behind us. Guattararo continuing to do a fine job running against
13:09competition on motorcycles that are more competitive than the one he's on. He's doing an unreal job
13:14isn't he behind Bezzecchi in front of Morbidelli on that factory Ducati GP24. Some ride this by
13:20Guattararo seventh would be an equal best Sunday result of the season for the Frenchman. Well then
13:28we were all thinking after he took the lead in that second corner that Paco Bagnaia would be
13:33the rider as he so craved and so desired to take Ducati's 100th MotoGP success but it's unraveled
13:40very very quickly for the world champion because Jorge MartĂn is just looking so good so comfortable
13:46so confident ahead of this Grand Prix. Through the final corner we go then what will be the gap
13:52between MartĂn and Bastionini there in second place closing over the line we go yeah Bastionini
13:58finds his best out of the Grand Prix a 1.31.057 that was exactly three tenths of a second clear
14:06of MartĂn mid to high 131s is the pace that Bagnaia's got just not at the races at all. 31.0 on that
14:14medium rear tire for Bastionini that is very very quick here's another look at the start there's the
14:19contact you saw as the left elbow Bastionini came out telling Brad Binder you better stay in fourth
14:25Brad and Paco Bagnaia taking advantage there as MartĂn got a little bit hot into turn number one
14:30this is what I look from on board from Acosta watch right ahead of us Bastionini and Binder
14:35bumping elbows and there is the live picture in picture view of the top two as Pedro Acosta gets
14:42the front row seat for the contact several bits of contact between the beast and Binder in that
14:47first sector this is impressive by Bastianini because two weeks ago here Mazzano he could not
14:53get a tune out of that medium rear tire at all he dismissed it on Friday couldn't get temperature
14:59into it struggling for traction mid corner losing all of his corner speed he felt like they turned
15:04the corner found some speed with it at the Mazzano test but on Friday once again I heard him say now
15:08that the same old problems are back with that medium rear tire so they have clearly turned
15:12that the carriage ep24 upside down for the beast boy is he making it count right now because now
15:18he really is starting to hunt down and close in on MartĂn what half a dozen bike lengths between
15:24the Spaniard and the Italian as we complete lap 8 of 22 the beast once again fastest of our top
15:31trio 131.222 again about three tenths quicker than MartĂn ahead of him Bagnola kind of stuck
15:39in the 131.6s that seems to be his speed limiter at the moment this is shaping up to be quite a
15:45lonely afternoon for the reigning world champion he's slower than both the riders ahead of him but
15:49he's quicker than everyone behind him with the exception of Marco Betzecchi who said his personal
15:53best on a 31.5 last time around we haven't seen any real progress from Marc Marquez yet either
15:58still running in fifth place coming in a little bit of pressure now from the improving Betzecchi
16:03but not exactly making a dent on Pedro Acosta's fourth place either good lap that by Betzecchi
16:07that 131.547 his pv lap of the race only MartĂn and Bastianini on circuit were quicker than
16:14Bez well he needs to make hay now doesn't he if he's on that soft rear tire he might come under a
16:18little bit of pressure it might suffer a little bit later on in the race so Betzecchi is going to
16:23thrive this afternoon he needs to take the profits of that softer rubber now on board
16:27then with Bastianini six gear through this fast sector three this is where Paco Bagnaio has been
16:35so so good all weekend so now it's up to the beast to try and pressure MartĂn into a mistake
16:42the Martinator it is then that leads he's going to flick it left now but through the second gear
16:48turn 15 there is still an awful long way to go in this Pisano Grand Prix but somebody's gone down
16:55in sector four now who is that it's gonna be one of the lead group we could hear it on board
16:59couldn't we it's Acosta Pedro Acosta KTM out you can hear it on board with the beast the turn of 15
17:07then has caught out Pedro Acosta he's got all the way to the fence there as the beast now is warming
17:13up to the challenge here isn't he is warming up to the task of hunting down and passing Jorge MartĂn
17:19Bastianini out of nowhere be the rider to take Ducati's 100th Grand Prix victory
17:26Paco Bagnaio has now slipped over two seconds behind the top two 131.7s from Bagnaio in fact
17:33on that previous lap he was slower than Marc Marquez who's 1.3 seconds further back in fourth
17:39place it feels like that's the gap that Bagnaio is gonna have to monitor from this stage of course
17:44still not at half race distance yet a long way to go Jorge MartĂn we have to inform you MartĂn
17:49will have the news he's got a track limits warning when he received that yesterday he made the
17:53critical error that cost him a sprint victory let's see if Jorge MartĂn has learned from his error
17:58yesterday there was only six laps of the sprint remaining when he got the track limits warning
18:02he's got 17 and a half laps now uh for that to occupy his mind this was right here that's where
18:09MartĂn made the mistake going through 13. I've seen MartĂn a few times go wide simply through 15
18:17this corner that we were about to see them go through it's the corner where Pedro Acosta's
18:20gone down you'll see him flash through the back of the picture and disappearing out of Marc Marquez's
18:25way and the KTM goes all the way to the fence shame that for Acosta who was keeping Marc Marquez
18:30very much under control in fourth that just shows what happens when you're on the absolute
18:34ragged edge on the absolute limit trying to race the dominant Ducatis and sometimes you just do
18:41push over that limit of the gap between MartĂn MartĂn has responded there was no distraction on
18:47that previous lap when he got the track limits one because he found his best lap of the race
18:51so far credit to the 131.216 that's been the first lap in about the last four or five where he's
18:57actually had the measure of Bastien in second place so he is responding the advantage up to
19:03nearly four tenths that gap continues to balloon out between Bastienini and Bagnaia you can see
19:09at top left of your screens 2.7 seconds now between the two factory Ducati riders Bagnaia
19:14doing 31.7s at the moment of course he's lost the potential threat of Pedro Acosta behind him but
19:20need to be careful Marc Marquez could still take that podium position away from
19:24Peco Bagnaia not the race we thought he'd be having no not at all there's clearly some issue
19:30isn't there that's limiting Bagnaia's speed because he would have expected we all expected
19:36him to be right in this battle with MartĂn and Bastienini he's a circuit specialist he's fully
19:43fit Peco Bagnaia but there are outside there are external factors at play here not costing him the
19:49chance to celebrate his 100th victory 100th grand prix from the top step of the podium 100th
19:55premier class appearance he can forget that at the moment we're about to cross the line and complete
20:00our lap 11 of 27 and once again MartĂn and Bastienini exchange 131.4s at Bagnaia now 131.9s
20:10he's gonna be in the 32s he's in the 32s very very quickly if he's not careful at Bagnaia
20:14and Marc Marquez is a lot quicker a lot faster behind him three tenths faster as a matter of
20:20fact and yeah there's trouble brewing Marco Pesecchi he's hammering that soft rear tire
20:25he's properly giving it a punishment because he's done a 131.522 which was slightly quicker
20:32than Marquez so it's not out of the equation yet for Marco Pesecchi to maybe get himself
20:37into podium contention yeah on that last lap Bagnaia was slower than Marquez, Pesecchi,
20:42Quartararo, Morbidelli and Maverick Vinales on the Aprilia who's running now in eighth place
20:47having passed Alessio Spargaro at the start of this lap so the trouble might not be over yet
20:53for Paco Bagnaia hopes of winning this Grand Prix look long gone unless something happens to the
20:57pair up ahead of him but a podium is not a guarantee for the reigning world champion from here
21:04oh there's going to be some big questions posed inside that factory Ducati garage aren't they
21:08post-race because as it stands at the moment a nine point swing back in favor of MartĂn that
21:15would see him take a relatively comfortable 13 point advantage to Mandelika next weekend where
21:23he's looking to avenge his disaster of 12 months ago when he jumped off the Prima Prima Ducati
21:28with a three second lead but I think most of us came to Misano this morning with the genuine
21:34belief that MartĂn was unlikely to be the world championship leader heading to Lombok next time
21:39out so a personal best that time for Bagnaia so he has now found a little bit of pace at least
21:44on that lap 131.428 he was quicker than Bastianini and everyone behind him so Bagnaia has been able
21:51to summon some speed from somewhere just as he needed it because that third place was starting
21:54to come under a little bit of jeopardy here is Marco Bezzecchi doing a fine job so far I guess
22:00the question now as we head into the second half of this race very very shortly is just how much
22:05rear grip will Bezzecchi have in the latter stages of this race he is still doing mid 131s and he is
22:11building up a bit of a buffer over Fabio Quattroaro which will help him if he does begin to
22:16encounter some grip problems later and Quattroaro doing a stellar job of streaking away not as he
22:21just held off Francois Woldelli he's pulled away from the Italian as well on that Ducati GP24
22:26there is Quattroaro on the factory Yamaha at the moment in what would be a season best six place
22:33for the Frenchman it's been some weekend for Fabio Quattroaro it will be the first time a Japanese
22:38motorcyclist has finished inside the top six so far this season with Jorge MartĂn you have to go
22:46all the way back to Le Mans of course for the last time Jorge MartĂn won on a Sunday as far as
22:52Ducati is concerned as you can see they're gonna hit 500 world championship points which is more
22:57than enough to clinch a fifth consecutive constructors crown for them this afternoon
23:02the irony I guess is that their 100th premier class win might be clinched by the riders leaving
23:07them next year look at the pace it's hotting up MartĂn just said his personal best lap of the
23:12Grand Prix at 1 31.208 as he tries to break the beast here it looks like that is a successful
23:19mission at the moment and Pekka Bagnolo has just started to cut his groove at 1 31.320
23:26from the world champion that was faster than Bacinini in second place only a whisker slower
23:34than Jorge MartĂn so he is finding some pace at the halfway stage of this Grand Prix but surely
23:40surely it's all coming way way too late as he sits three and a half seconds behind MartĂn
23:45it's very very rare that you see a rider overturn that kind of deficit in a
23:49motor GP race at this kind of level the level that Jorge MartĂn is riding at at the moment
23:54of course there's some redemption potentially here for Jorge MartĂn not only a first Sunday
24:00win potentially since Le Mans but well and truly banishing the demons of what happened here
24:04a fortnight ago in that flag to flag race all he's got to concentrate on now it's not the weather
24:10it's simply the gap back to the beast who's lurking behind him and also the track limits warning as
24:16well he's got to be millimeter perfect over the final part of this Grand Prix because he has
24:21already had the track limits warning so he knows if he strays on the wrong side of the paintwork
24:26once again well he'll get hauled in for a long lap penalty through the final corner Jorge MartĂn
24:33goes over the line he's going to be six tenths and a little bit more clear of Bastiani and it's again
24:43Peco Bagnaia now is doing low 131s it was three or four laps ago he was struggling to keep himself
24:50in the 31s he's laughing about a second quicker out of nowhere 131.063 from Bagnaia sees the
24:58problem is yeah it's very very rapid it's fast for this stage of the race with this wear on the tyres
25:05but he's only a tenth or two quicker than and away ahead of him love to hear from Peco Bagnaia
25:10later on and just find out what the problem was we will do of course if he finishes on the podium
25:14we'll hear from him in Parfum and get first-hand information of what he was experiencing on that
25:18Ducati because he clearly didn't have the confidence or the grip in those early stages
25:23Maverick Vinales is now finding some pace on the Factory Aprilia he's just done a personal best on
25:27a 131.4 which is similar sort of pace that Jorge MartĂn is doing who was doing a 31.2 out front
25:35problem for Vinales he's in a very lonely eighth place over two and a half seconds of drift of
25:39Frankie Morbidelli up the road I'm just glued to Jorge MartĂn's prima prima Ducati just to make
25:45sure he's keeping himself in between those white lines because with that track and miss warning
25:50which could play a big factor in the final part of this Grand Prix he's done a sterling job
25:57the mental strength the mental fortitude that MartĂn is showing here after what came his way
26:02just 14 days ago here in Misano well he's bouncing back and gaining some revenge in round 14 isn't
26:09he over the line 131.3 he's exchanged between MartĂn and Bastianini Peco Bagnaia has just set
26:15the fastest lap of the Grand Prix he's in the 130s out of absolutely nowhere a 130.9 four or
26:21five lap score he did at 131.9 we were fearing he was going to sink into the 32s and sink behind
26:27the likes of Marquez Betseke maybe even Quattroro but Bagnaia has just found some serious rhythm
26:35130.9 on a 15 lap old rear tire what is going on puzzling but Peco has found his groove at last and
26:43hey maybe if we rule him out of this Grand Prix a little too early depends if he can sustain this
26:48for much longer he was four tenths quicker than Jorge MartĂn and Bastianini last time around
26:52he's now back within three seconds of the race lead so he's gonna have to put out some more of
26:58these laps for at least another five or six laps to bring himself into contention for the race
27:03but at least he's well and truly put Marc Marquez in his place in fourth place Marquez is doing
27:0831.6 which is hardly slow he's comfortably clear of Betseke but Bagnaia so far on this lap
27:14the gap up to Bastianini is still 2.2 seconds which is what it was at the start of the lap he's
27:19actually Bastianini who's now coming back at MartĂn so far in this lap yeah Marc Marquez must be
27:24looking at Peco Bagnaia just coming off in the distance and just thinking well he's woken up
27:30what on earth is happening here to the numero uno through the final corner we go well now into the
27:37second half of this immediate Romagna Grand Prix it's Jorge MartĂn that leads it let's have a look
27:42at the lap Bagnaia has just done another incredible lap a 1.30.877 has he been kidding us all was he
27:53just thinking well i'll just i'll just sit i'll just manage the rear tires because i know in the
27:59second half of this race i've got pace that nobody can live with a 1.30.877 successive
28:06fastest laps of this race and now we are starting to think if he can carry on this kind of pace
28:12well then surely out of absolutely nowhere but the win is on it was 3.4 seconds to Jorge MartĂn
28:19two laps ago it then came down to three seconds it's now down to 2.5 seconds for Peco Bagnaia
28:26and he's 1.8 seconds behind his teammate Anea Bastianini and most of it is coming in the second
28:32half of the lap for Peco Bagnaia through the fast right to Camone turn 11 12 and 13 the
28:37tight right of 14 and then the two lefts to complete the lap so we'll keep an eye on it
28:41again on this lap it's there where Bagnaia was winning so much of his time where he's winning
28:46as well of course the teams of MartĂn and Bastianini we're putting on the pit board the gap
28:51coming down and it just gives MartĂn and the beast that little bit of extra something to think
28:56about that a little bit of extra something to ponder because at one stage in this grand
29:00prix i think like most of us did do we'd pretty much written off the hopes of Bagnaia as we come
29:05now through the Misano corner there's gonna be 10 laps to go here very very shortly which is an
29:10awful long time for Bagnaia still to get himself back into contention 21.2 for Bagnaia last time
29:17around that was two tenths quicker than Jorge MartĂn the fastest of the top three that time around
29:21was the beast who were on board with the 23 of Enea Bastianini he cut Jorge MartĂn's lead
29:27almost in half down to four tenths of a second fascinated with 10 laps of this to go still any
29:33one of three factory Ducati riders could still win this grand prix and notch up a century of
29:39victories for the Bologna Bullets they sort of started to spread out behind the top three Marquez
29:443.4 seconds behind Bagnaia 1.2 seconds he is clear of Becsechi who surely will be at some
29:51point later on running into a few excessive tyre wear issues having opted for the soft Michelin rear
29:59Quattroro is still six ahead of Morbidelli, Vignale, de la Spargo and Alex Marquez are in
30:03your top 10 Alex Marquez is on the track this morning so too Zarco and the Gian Antonio
30:10Joan Mir up at the points in 14th place he just passed Jack Miller on the previous lap for
30:16Repsol Honda the top two continue to sort of yo-yo together and then back apart again
30:21Martini now upping his pace after Bastianini closed in on the last lap the gap between the
30:26two back up to half a second Bagnaia is closing in a little bit on Bastianini but I think that's
30:30more Bastianini sort of reversing towards him because Martini's leaders slightly eeked out
30:35on this lap nine to go as we cross the line now this is lap 18 of 27 that we're completing
30:42Martini does his personal best lap of the race he has responded Bagnaia back in the 130s but
30:47Martini has stepped back on it again yeah there was a pit bull message that said number one 1.7
30:52so they were telling Martini clear the message there wasn't it the signal was you got a crack
30:57on here Jorge because Pekka Bagnaia is starting to reel himself back into contention what a lap
31:03that is by Martini 131.150 on 18 lap on mixed in tires here in Misano he has not given
31:12Bastianini a sniff has he letting him try and take the lead in this Grand Prix
31:19does this have shades of Phillip Island for Pekka Bagnaia remember last year when he was
31:23in that second group he was as low as fifth at one point but he stayed patient and let the race come
31:29late on of course Martini was on a soft rear tire on that afternoon he doesn't have that this time
31:33he is on the same medium rear that all of the top three are on the only rider as mentioned on the
31:38soft rear tire is Marco Bezzecchi who is still doing a fine job in fifth place although he's
31:42now back in the high 131s still going quicker than Quattroaro behind him though so Bezzecchi
31:49still in a very comfortable fit if this does turn into a serious dogfight at the end of this Grand
31:55Prix with Martini and Bastianini of course we will have to factor in the pressure of Martini with
32:00the track limits warning through 15 we go that's where Pedro Acosta jumped off the gas gas tech
32:08three machine a little while ago while he was in a very strong fourth place this is going to be the
32:14start of lap 20 of 27 and Bagnaia yeah that's the first time in about six seven eight laps
32:23that Bagnaia has been slower than both Martini and Bastianini as he's just taken too much out of those
32:30medium tires to get himself right back in the hunt here it was a great effort but it just looks like
32:36maybe maybe that lap 19 was indication that Bagnaia does not have anything for this top two
32:42still a 31.4 for Bezzecchi though with the soft rear tire fitted he's pulled now over three seconds
32:49almost on Fabio Quattrora and actually closing in a little bit on that last lap on
32:52Mark Marquez who's got just over a second of a buffer over Bezzecchi in fifth top five
32:58all on Ducati's and it just underlines what a good job Fabio Quattrora is doing to be running
33:04inside the top six on that factory head of Frankie Morbidelli and comfortably clear of the factory
33:10of Brillius well if ever Pekka Bagnaia needed a favor from his factory Ducati teammate it served
33:17the championship it was now from Bagnaia and Bastianini of course still firmly in the hunt
33:21for glory himself in 2024 this will feel like a huge win as we mentioned the beast he was born
33:29and bred still lives in nearby Rimini just a very very short drive away from this Misano World
33:35Circuit Marco Simoncelli he's very very accustomed to finishing on the podium here in Misano he's
33:41never finished off the podium they've run a GP race here as he was flirting with the edge of
33:46track limits there coming out of 16 wasn't he over the line we go under three tenths of a second
33:50between the top two I think Martin might have just clipped the green on the outside of that
33:55final corner you're not necessarily on your last warning when you get that track limits warning but
34:00you're certainly having to watch your step for a couple more and you'll be in big trouble so Jorge
34:04Martin of course he has to do everything he can to keep an air passion behind him but along that
34:09penalty at this stage would drop Martin not just behind Bastianini but probably behind Pekka
34:14yeah and here comes the beast the beast starting to look a real threat here now isn't he good drive
34:18though Martin picked up coming out of turn six that's going to make sure that Bastianini is
34:24certainly not close enough to attack him on the brakes into Quercia corner oh he's got down Pekka
34:29Bagnaia has crashed out of third place can you believe it Pekka Bagnaia it is 100th MotoGP
34:39appearance his 100th star for Ducati and he has made another huge mistake that just locked
34:48the front lock today it was like he was crashing in the rain that was like it was a wet race
34:52Bagnaia goes down at turn eight and that does feel like another monumental pendulum swing
34:59in this year's MotoGP world championship can't quite believe my eyes Bagnaia locking the front
35:06as he grabbed the hand for the front brake going down into turn eight and hi Martin if he hangs on
35:11to this victory here a priceless priceless victory for Martin he moved 29 points clear
35:18in the MotoGP world championship with six rounds to go how significant could that mistake be
35:25from Bagnaia I was just about to say Bagnaia is really closing on the lap that he crashed
35:31the gap was down to just 1.6 seconds between second and third that of course now is a much
35:37bigger gap back to Mar Marquez who now inherits that podium position Pekka Bagnaia has taken plenty
35:42of Sunday wins this year but we have also seen plenty of DNFs for the reigning world champion
35:48add another one to the list and after Martin dropped the ball a couple of weeks ago here
35:53and handing the initiative to Bagnaia it's role reversal two weeks on at Misano yeah and that
35:59feels like the biggest plot twist of them all so far there's going to be several more twists and
36:03turns in this championship I was going to say they're going to board Martin surely very very
36:08quickly just to tell them that there you go number one Pekka Bagnaia is out of this Misano Grand Prix
36:14incredible late drama here then in Emilia-Romagna of course what that has done is push Marc Marquez
36:20onto the podium he's 1.6 seconds clear of Marco Bersseke that's the seventh DNF of the season
36:28and counting for Pekka Bagnaia this is the second DNF on his third DNF rather on a Sunday
36:35second in the last three of course when he was fighting for the podium with Alex Marquez and
36:39that controversial collision in Aragon this was all of his own doing and how much will he regret
36:46that at the end of the championship there is the message then to Jorge Martin he probably cannot
36:51believe what he's seeing himself as he gets the board number one out and does that impact in any
36:56way how Jorge Martin goes about these final five laps does it put a little thought in his head of
37:02make sure you stay within track limits Jorge make sure you don't make a mistake and crash out of
37:06this Grand Prix because 20 points would be very valuable in your world championship battle or does
37:11it make his resolve even tougher and even steelier to inflict maximum punishment on Pekka Bagnaia
37:17and take his first Sunday win since Le Mans. Bastianini then honing in he's been sat on Martin's
37:23rear tire for such a long time he will now have worked out just exactly where Martin is he's wide
37:29Martin goes wide into turn eight trying to get him on the cup back there was Bastianini
37:35but trying desperately to defend this victory here Martin runs a little bit wide going through turn
37:40eight yeah and he's on that tighter line through Tremonto as well that could compromise his exit
37:44speed so Bastianini now picking up some slipstream from the 89 up ahead of him he needs to try and
37:49stay as close as he can through Cavone we're now riding on board with Bastianini can he attack
37:54into turn 14? Well it's congratulations to Ducati they are cruising to their fifth
37:59consecutive constructor prize but who is going to take the individual glory
38:03here in this Pisano thriller? Bastianini now all over the rear tire of Martin how much longer can
38:11the Spaniard resist on the Prima Prima Ducati? Yeah that's on the bottom of your screens what
38:16happened into Quercicone you could see from the onboard just how much later Martin braked he was
38:22fortunately grateful there was plenty of room there on the outside of turn number eight and
38:27of course a right-hander coming next so he's in a good position to keep Bastianini at bay
38:31four laps remaining for Jorge Martin who has had to absorb plenty of pressure from a Bastianini
38:37this afternoon can he hang on for four more laps? World champions ride this by Martin isn't it he's
38:43in a little bit wide again as the inquest starts inside the factory the Catti garage and that is a
38:49very angry looking Pekka Bagnaia this was not in the script this was not part of the plan wasn't it
38:56this was all about supposedly being a Bagnaia celebratory Sunday it seemed like it was his
39:01destiny to win the Catti's 100th MotoGP race but they have all disappeared in a huge cloud
39:08of dust as the beast and now keeps the pressure on Martin 2015 right here in front of his home
39:14crowd Bastianini won his first ever Grand Prix and a Moto3 World Championship it's more home
39:20success coming the way of the 23. Fabio Di Gennaio told you incidentally he's been given a long lap
39:24penalty his second penalty in the last 24 hours look at Bastianini closing right up to Jorge Martin
39:31this is not a Jorge Martin who looks like he would quite happily settle for second place he's going
39:37to defend here for all he's worth a long long way back in third place seven seconds back in third
39:44place is Marc Marquez a solid third place so good for his championship aspirations for the 31 year
39:50old Spaniard three laps to go then here in the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix why Martin hard on the
39:57brakes into turn one when will Bastianini think it's his moment it's time to strike through three
40:06we go three to go here then hard on the brakes and now into the first gear turn four he's not
40:12close enough is he now just going to get the slingshot try and pick up the drive out of turn
40:17six slipstream Martin surely the moves coming now surely it will come he moves side by side with
40:24Martin down they go through turn seven that was really really close he's not going to close the
40:29bend to attack Martin on the brakes into turn eight yeah it's been clear already on a previous
40:33lap we saw it again there Bastianini's best shot here looks like it's out of turn six down to a
40:38seven and into Quercia corner Martin's good enough through the right handers of turns 11 12 and 13
40:44to be clear into 14 we're going to only come through Quercia two more times Bastianini knows
40:51that might be his best opportunity and this could be the biggest winner for Martin's career he's
40:57had some special special moments and when you think about what happened to him here in Misano
41:01two weeks ago when he was absolutely crestfallen with the wrong gamble to pit for his rain bike
41:07this is not a given that he's a little bit wide on exit coming out of turn 14 Bastianini then
41:13just got to settle here keep patient it looks like he's got the better speed surely he thinks
41:20that the move into turn eight will be his best move he's strong in sector one two and out of
41:26in Misano less than two tenths covering the top two and Martin now will know where that attack
41:31is going to come so he has to focus on getting turns four five and six absolutely right surely
41:37Bastianini's going to launch one into the real corner of turn four it'll be a brave and bold
41:41move from there Martin on that slightly tighter line Bastianini now will get the slingshot through
41:47five and try and follow him through six to attack into Quercia so much faster through four and five
41:52is Bastianini somehow and Martin picks up the drive grip coming out of turn six it looks like
41:58the beast has the better edge grip or the better traction the better drive grip is coming
42:02from Martin's Prima Pramak Ducati GP24 lap and a half remaining then here in Misano it's Martin
42:11versus Bastianini for the victory here and it's a special one a milestone one it will be Ducati's
42:17100th MotoGP success it is down to these two last time we had an immediate Romagna Grand Prix in
42:232021 and there Bastianini on the final lap at turn 14 overtook a rider who was about to become
42:29world champion of course we're a long way from that for Martin but he desperately wants to be
42:33world champion and he needs to try and keep an air Bastianini at bay this is turn 14 as Martin
42:38takes that tighter inside line and he just parks it on the apex and Bastianini has nowhere to go
42:43these are five huge points for Bastianini five huge points for Martin and five huge points for
42:49Pekka Bagnia who was already a very frustrated and angry spectator here in Misano one lap to go
42:564.2 kilometers remaining Martin versus Bastianini it is all down there now to this last lap
43:03showdown between the two Ducatis who is going to take this record-breaking history-making success
43:10for the Bologna factory a 100th win coming here comes Bastianini now that is really close and he
43:16runs Martin out of the paintwork Martin sticks his hand up Martin gets run right off the circuit
43:22the stewards will have a very very close look at that one it was ultra aggressive uber aggressive
43:28from Bastianini but he now leads here in Misano there is a big big decision facing the FIM MotoGP
43:36stewards now they might have the decision of who wins this grand prix Bastianini from a long way
43:40back he's up the inside he runs wide himself just about keeps on the racetrack but he essentially
43:46forces Martin off the road Pekka Bagnia wishing he was still part of this fight so now it's all eyes
43:55on the FIM MotoGP stewards after this we have not heard the last of that one here comes the beast
44:00they're now comfortably clear 1.5 seconds clear of Jorge Martin who was going to be livid inside
44:08that helmet we saw the reaction of the Prima Prada Ducati team on their feet though go the Italian
44:15fans through turn 15 goes Enea Bastianini is he Ducati's 100th hero as he peels out of the final
44:24corner Enea Bastianini the beast wins here in the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix he takes the
44:31chequered flag first he does take Ducati's 100th MotoGP success but it comes with great controversy
44:39a huge talking point going into that final lap going into that turn four Martin got pushed right
44:47off the circuit you can see what Jorge Martin thought of it as he crossed the line punching
44:52in the air in frustration Martin had rolled right out of it at the end he finished five seconds back
44:56Mark Marquez takes third Bersseke fourth Modigliani in fifth place I do hope Jorge Martin doesn't
45:02regret backing off so much on the final lap that's what he thinks of Enea Bastianini's late move
45:07if it's a long lap penalty or the equivalent of the big of Bastianini Martin backed off so much
45:11on the final lap but Enea might win anyway this is another look then into turn four Bastianini
45:17putting his leg out and tries to tip it in Bastianini was fairly up alongside but wouldn't
45:22Enea Bastianini have made up Bastianini goes off himself he goes on to the blue curving yeah and I
45:26think that might inform the decision Bastianini didn't make the corner himself wow wow so many
45:33talking points in that Grand Prix this was the aggressive move on the inside by and there was
45:39contact and he goes wide there was contact and he's off the circuit himself so this is Martin
45:45coming across the line absolutely raging at the loss of a victory the loss of five world
45:51championship points so the FIA MotoGP stewards will be watching the screens like a hawk they
45:56have got a big decision to make congratulations to Ducati whoever's won this Grand Prix Ducati are
46:02the constructors champions well and Ducati in material of what happens have won their 100th
46:08MotoGP race there you can see with all of the great names that have taken the previous 99
46:14and Enea Bastianini then is victorious in his home Grand Prix what a race that was
46:22what a dramatic way to kick off our two triple headers with Peco Bagnaia slipping out of
46:29contention and then crashing out of third place as he was coming right back into contention huge
46:35congratulations it was always going to be a special celebration Sunday for Ducati their 100th MotoGP
46:42win and they are constructor world champions for the fifth year in a row as Enea Bastianini
46:49then tries to get the factory Ducati up and running once again maybe there's been times
46:55in the past where Enea Bastianini has perhaps been accused of lacking some aggression he's perhaps
47:00been not been willing to sharpen the knees and elbows in the heat of battle well he certainly
47:07did here at the end of that 27 lap Emilia Romagna Grand Prix we've got nothing in our
47:14in our ears or nothing on our screens at the moment to indicate that this result will not
47:19stand a result which in the record books at the moment you'll see the victory credited to
47:25Bastianini by just over five seconds Peco Bagnaia whatever happens scores nothing this afternoon
47:35his crash at turn eight ultimately taking him out of third place we'll never know whether that could
47:40have been second or first in the end that podium goes to Marc Marquez so whatever happens Jorge
47:45Martin has really boosted his world championship challenge today taking advantage of the crash
47:51for Bagnaia maybe not taking maximum advantage but 20 very valuable points going the way of the world
47:58championship leader constructor world champions once again what a job Gigi Ligna has done into
48:05turning Ducati into such a dominant force they are the construct the champions they've won 100
48:10money GP races let's get the thoughts from the boss who's with Simon here's Gigi congratulations
48:17on many levels not just the race not just the speed of your machine uh back the constructor
48:24yeah thank you it's an important result for us also the 100th victory in the MotoGP is an
48:30important numbers and uh we are really proud for that your thought on the on the move that won the
48:36race yeah you know it's uh i i have to to check better the the overtake of uh of an air but you
48:44know so i don't want to comment it before to to have an uh an understanding of the situation fair
48:50enough thank you bye thanks Simon thanks to uh Gigi uh Delina of course that big sunday here
48:59for Bastianini not only the victory but he moves back into the top three
49:03in the world championship 59 points back of Martin well we said it with two weeks ago how
49:11significant could be the one point that Martin elected uh for his 15th in the San Marino race
49:17after his wrong decision to pit in the flag to flag race well how vital could the five points he's
49:23just lost after that thrilling final lap here in Misano
49:31well what does he the issue i mentioned when the race is mainly finished could could be significant
49:36if they deem irresponsible riding they could give an air bashi along that penalty post race but if
49:42they do that he still wins the race because hoye martin of course backs right out of it on the final
49:48lap obviously with steam coming out of his ears after losing the lead in such fashion to an air
49:52bastion so unless they give him one position drop they can't give a ride to a penalty it was nowhere
49:56near that bad so an air bastionini firmly believes that he's won this grand prix and at the moment
50:01we've seen nothing to tell him he's wrong yeah and i must admit i hope he has won this grand prix
50:06we want to see good old-fashioned hard racing this this wasn't a battle for 14th or 15th place
50:13this was a battle for the victory in his home race in Ducati's backyard and he went for it
50:19he went all in and he's still very much himself a factor and an equation in this year's MotoGP
50:26world championship for what is going through the mind as well at the moment of Pekka Banyaya yeah
50:33he'll be cursing himself absolutely kicking himself to have made such a huge mistake
50:41his weekend had been perfect up to that point the pole position the sprint went and i suppose it's
50:47a real shame we were denied the prospects of Banyaya maybe getting himself back into this
50:53victory battle and of course with all the drama that unfolded at the end of that grand prix
50:58and with Martin getting nerfed off through turn four and finishing five seconds back
51:04or maybe there was a second place there for Banyaya had he stayed on two wheels all ifs
51:09buts what's and maybes no maybes though for an air bastionini
