00:00Thousands of farmers in Palawan were given the title of land and goods for farming.
00:05The details are in the report of Kenneth Paciente.
00:11Erlinda has been farming for 27 years on land that she doesn't own.
00:15Even though she earns because of selling her crops,
00:19they still worry about the possibility that in a blink of an eye,
00:23they will lose their main source of income.
00:26It's very hard because we don't know that we can leave anytime
00:32because we don't have the confidence that we are farming on our own land.
00:36But Erlinda is fed up.
00:39Because she is now one of the thousands of farmers in Palawan
00:42who have already received the title of land,
00:44which was given by President Ferdinand R. Marcos Jr.
00:48According to the President,
00:49this is a recognition of the government to the farmers who play a big role in food security.
00:53But it doesn't end with just giving titles.
00:56Instead, it is also a struggle for them to have a peaceful farmland
01:01along with clearing their debts.
01:04Those who have been waiting for a long time for their land
01:10and remembering the amortization,
01:13we have already removed that debt.
01:16Those who have been waiting and remembering
01:20the payment of the amortization,
01:22you don't have to worry about that anymore
01:25because we have already removed that debt.
01:28Some youths who have completed their agricultural course have also received titles.
01:33According to the President,
01:34this is a recognition of the government to encourage them
01:37to use their knowledge in strengthening agriculture in the country.
01:41Because there are many youths who don't understand
01:46and don't think about agriculture,
01:49that's why they go to other jobs.
01:52But we need farmers.
01:54Their knowledge is that they have a place,
01:57they have land to use
01:59so that they can use their new knowledge about agriculture.
02:05Because of this, the beneficiaries are very thankful.
02:09We are very proud that for a long time,
02:13we did not expect that this land that we are planting will be given to us.
02:19We are very thankful.
02:21We saw the support of our President to the farmers like us.
02:26According to the Department of Agrarian Reform,
02:28the government continues to strive to give the title of land to qualified farmers.
02:34It is proven that up to 800,000 hectares of land
02:37is still the target to be given by the government
02:39until the President's term ends in 2028.
02:43The Punong Ejecutivo prioritized the ceremonial turnover of Farm-to-Market Roads
02:47which has a total value of more than 44 million pesos.
02:51In addition, it strengthens the connectivity in the area.
02:54Also, the promise that it will speed up the delivery to the market
02:57of agricultural products to the farmers
03:00so that their income will be more secure.
03:02We are proud of the hard work of our farmers,
03:06especially those who plant in remote areas.
03:10The long journey does not only consume time
03:14if there are no additional expenses.
03:18Your ability to bring products to the market
03:24without worrying about the possible damage of your crop will be stronger.
03:30This project includes Busuanga to Karuray,
03:33Sitio Nalbot to Arado,
03:35and San Nicolás to Sitio Caniogan Farm-to-Market Roads.
