Indonesian foreign affairs minister, Retno Marsudi, and the Indonesian ambassador to the Netherlands, Mayerfas, inaugurated the "Indonesia House Amsterdam", on Tuesday, September 17. The inauguration took place at 10AM local time with a variety of events, which included an art exhibition, and a traditional Tumpeng ceremony. The structure was initially used as the Indonesian consulate general, and had been vacant since 1976, before it was set for restoration in 2020.
Renovations began in 2021, and it started operating in early 2023, following Covid-19 delays.
