00:13Vice President Sara Duterte refuses to take oath at a committee hearing at the House of
00:17Representatives.
00:19Sara Duterte says she and President Marcos are not friends.
00:23The DOJ charges Alice Gua with trafficking, a non-bailable offense.
00:28The United Nations General Assembly is set to adopt a resolution demanding Israel and
00:33its unlawful presence in Palestine.
00:36And James Reid explained the termination of his careless music business partner, Jeffrey
00:41O.
00:43Vice President Sara Duterte makes a surprise appearance during a House committee hearing
00:48on her alleged misuse of public funds.
00:51Resource persons are routinely asked to take an oath to tell the truth, but the vice president
00:55challenges the request.
01:05Former President and Pampanga's 2nd District Representative Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo, a
01:09Duterte ally, comes to her defense.
01:12Arroyo says the committee cannot trivialize the difference between a resource person and
01:16a witness.
01:18Before asking to leave the hearing early, Duterte accuses lawmakers again of plotting
01:23her impeachment.
01:43Vice President Sara Duterte claims she and President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. were never
01:47friends and only interacted during their campaign as running mates.
01:52This after Duterte claimed to be the target of political attacks under the Marcos administration.
02:07The UNITEAM alliance catapulted Marcos and Duterte to the country's top posts in a landslide
02:12victory in 2022.
02:14Unlike most presidential and vice presidential tandems in recent history, the two had no
02:19real personal ties.
02:21Marcos and Duterte struggled to keep the façade of a happy partnership as Duterte's infighting
02:25with Marcos' allies spilled into public view.
02:29In June, Duterte resigned from the Marcos cabinet signaling the end of the UNITEAM alliance.
02:34Asked whether she regrets being part of the UNITEAM, she says,
02:38I'll never again.
02:42The Justice Department formally charges Alice Kuo with human trafficking, Tuesday, September
02:4717.
02:48This is the second official charge against the dismissed Bamban Tarlac mayor and the
02:52first that's non-bailable.
02:53The DOJ filed the case before the Pasig City Regional Trial Court.
02:59Once the case is raffled to a branch, the presiding judge may issue an arrest warrant
03:03against Kuo.
03:05The case stems from a complaint filed by the Presidential Anti-Organized Crime Commission
03:09and the Philippine National Police back in June.
03:12Kuo is implicated as the incorporator of a company that leased land to a pogo in Bamban,
03:18where authorities found evidence of torture and trafficking.
03:21Kuo is currently detained at the PNP custodial center in Quezon City over a graft charge.
03:27Although graft is a bailable offense, her lawyer says she chooses to stay under police
03:32custody for her safety.
03:35The United Nations General Assembly is set to adopt a Palestinian-drafted resolution
03:40that demands Israel end its, quote,
03:43unlawful presence in the Occupied Palestinian Territory within 12 months.
03:48The action will isolate Israel days before world leaders travel to New York for their
03:52annual UN gathering.
03:55Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is due to address the 193-member General Assembly
04:00on September 26, the same day as Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.
04:06The draft resolution aims to welcome an advisory opinion by the International Court of Justice
04:11that Israel's occupation of Palestinian territories is illegal and should be withdrawn.
04:16The ICJ advisory opinion is not binding, but carries weight under international law.
04:22Washington, an ally of Israel, urges countries to vote no.
04:27Israel's ambassador to the UN, Danny Danon, calls the draft resolution diplomatic terrorism.
04:35Careless Music founder James Reid reveals his former business partner, Korean-American
04:40Jeffrey Oh, has been terminated from the record label.
04:44This follows Oh's arrest and detention in July 2023 by the Bureau of Immigration for
04:49allegedly working without permits and visas.
04:51He was later released on bail but faced deportation charges.
04:55In an interview with OG Diaz, Reid alleges Oh owes him over 100 million pesos and that
05:01there were several contracts and business deals Oh signed without Reid's knowledge.
05:06Reid also says Oh promised to document all the missing transactions, but they later found
05:11out Oh had already gone to Los Angeles.
05:13Oh has yet to speak on the issue.
05:16This comes days after the label announced actress Liza Soberano was no longer under
05:21its management since July 29.
05:25And that's today's Wrap.
05:26I'm Giselle Barrientos.
