00:00You had it two years ago with Owen Bruton and Declan Jones, in terms of youngsters coming
00:14through and breaking through into the team, having come through the junior system in Hull,
00:18which is an extensive junior system, as you all know, obviously going back however many
00:22years.
00:23We're not going to go down that route.
00:24But you sound like you've found another one, a bit of a gem.
00:28You always have to be careful not to put too much pressure on youngsters coming through
00:32for the first time, obviously.
00:34But in Coen Taylor on the back end, you feel like you might have perhaps picked up someone
00:41that perhaps three or four months ago you didn't expect.
00:43Yeah, definitely.
00:44I think I've known Coen since he was a kid, and I've always known he's got ability.
00:49Skating's always been the best part of his game.
00:54It's been mental to watch him over the past two weeks.
00:59He's sort of a laid-back lad, so it makes him so composed on the ice.
01:04But watching him and being able to watch him read the game the way he has for the past
01:09two weeks, I think I always had a plan of bringing him in.
01:13But this early, obviously we got forced into it a little bit, but I always was going to
01:19see how he went.
01:21But the fact he's been, he played top four, he actually led the minutes for the D on Saturday,
01:29which is mental really to say that he wasn't actually a part of the team going into it
01:34fully.
01:35So, yeah, massive find.
01:37He's been obviously a massive reliever for me because it's tough going in knowing that
01:41you've lost someone like Dec, like I've said.
01:44And yeah, I think he's someone that can really plug that gap, and I've got a really good
01:50feeling about him in terms of the next years coming forward for him, just how he skates
01:55and how he sees the game.
01:57And he's a tough kid as well.
01:58So yeah, like I say, I think it's big for us.
02:02It's exciting that we can add him in, and again, another Hull lad.
02:06And it comes a point where I did the same thing with Brookes and DJ.
02:09You've just got to give them that chance.
02:12Give them the chance, but give them the time on the ice as well.
02:15And you'll see if they've got it or they haven't.
