Rams wide receiver could be out for weeks with an ankle injury. Nick and Femi discuss what this means for the #Ramily
Transcript
00:00We have, uh, we have breaking news here in the National Football League.
00:02There's literally coming, uh, crashing, crossing the wire during the break.
00:07Uh, Rams head coach Sean McVay saying wide receiver Cooper Cupp is expected to miss,
00:13quote, an extended period of time and is a candidate for injured reserve.
00:17Uh, Cooper Cupp suffering an ankle injury in the Rams blowout loss yesterday on the road in Arizona.
00:22So Puca is already on IR, gonna be out like anywhere from like, uh,
00:26five to ten weeks, we'll see, with a knee injury.
00:28Now Cupp gonna be like, he's going on IR.
00:31If McVay said he's missing an extended period of time and is a candidate for IR.
00:35So how about this?
00:36At least a month out for Cooper Cupp, if not more.
00:39John Jackson, Rams safety, like putting on his podcast.
00:42This got shared about 40 minutes ago.
00:44He's out four to six weeks.
00:46Uh, the Ramily is in disarray right now.
00:48Let's, let's just do this game next year, Femi.
00:50And then I don't really know if there's anything else to do on the Rams.
00:53Like, I feel like they're kind of like a dead team walking right now,
00:55unfortunately for your bets on the Rams.
00:57What are you going to do?
00:57Like everyone on the team gets hurt.
00:59Like that's tough.
01:00Um, yeah, the Niners right now.
01:02And I don't know if we have any betting movements on this game here,
01:04but San Francisco, seven and a half flat, seven and a half minus one,
01:0810 favorite at the Rams.
01:09So let's skip ahead here.
01:10Then we'll work our way backwards again.
01:12So Sunday, the Niners coming off the loss to Minnesota,
01:15seven and a half at the Rams without Cupp, without Puca.
01:18I mean, is there any way that, that Stafford gets sad in this game?
01:22It's just a lot up in the air, right?
01:24Total here is 45 and a half.
01:26Yeah.
01:26And I think they'll still try to play Matthew Savage just because it's a
01:29prideful organization with McVay and Stafford and what they've been able to
01:32accomplish during this tenure.
01:33But I'm going to go ahead and say it, and I'm not proud to say this,
01:36but I do have a Rams ticket plus seven and a half in this game.
01:38And this is just kind of banking on the head coach and quarterback being so
01:41good to where it should never be catching more than a touchdown at home.
01:45Now you could say that, Hey, maybe this is probably a pseudo home game
01:48since there's probably going to be 60, 65% 49ers fans,
01:52since they are the second most popular team in Southern California.
01:54But I just think that the offensive line getting back, because I think
01:57that's a big thing that we have to recognize.
01:59Aleric Jackson will be back.
02:00So they'll have their starting left tackle.
02:02They're starting right tackle.
02:03The only part of that they're missing on that old line now is Steve Avila,
02:05who is a really good player and they do need him in that center spot.
02:08But the old line has at least four of their starters back with dots in fact,
02:12and Jonah Jackson's on that offensive line healthy as well.
02:15So maybe the old line can protect him and they can kind of throw out a last
02:18ditch effort game plan to try to save the season.
02:21But if they don't win this game, it is season over for the Los Angeles Rams.
02:24This will likely be the last time that I'm backing them at these prices
02:27around this range.
02:28But I am backing the Rams in this spot getting more than a touchdown just
02:31because I have too much trust and too much faith in the head coach and
02:34quarterback, despite all the injuries which are quickly mounting up.
02:38Hear me out because it was the next game we were going to talk about.
02:41How does this lose?
02:43Chargers plus eight on the road at Pittsburgh,
02:47San Francisco minus one and a half on the road at the Rams.
02:50How does that lose?
02:50Which which which leg is more likely to lose?
02:53I guess the Rams could win outright.
02:55I think it's I think it's the Rams shocking the world and winning outright
02:57because the head coach and quarterback are awesome.
02:59Ain't no way in hell.
03:00The Steelers are winning by more than eight.
03:02I don't I don't see it.
03:04Not just and Justin Herbert looks like he's going to be fine coming off the injury.
03:07He suffered in the win yesterday against against Carolina.
03:10So no bet for me yet on Niners Rams.
03:13I teasing San Francisco sounds pretty good to me, though.
03:16And maybe I would pair it with this game.
