00:18It's story time again!
00:20You are in such a hurry?
00:22Yes Abbu, I really want to hear the story of Prophet Ishaq today.
00:27Hmm, I don't have much information about Prophet Ishaq.
00:32But I will tell you as much as I know about him.
00:36And I will also tell you the story of Prophet Yaqub, who was his son.
00:42Huh? Are you going to tell me the story of two prophets today?
00:47Haha, okay, okay. Now sit down and listen carefully.
00:52Bismillah
00:58Where?
00:59The story of Prophet Ishaq and Prophet Yaqub
01:06Prophet Ibrahim and his wife Sara were quite old.
01:13One day they were sitting outside their house.
01:16Then they saw three men coming towards them.
01:20Actually, those three people were angels sent by Allah.
01:24The Prophet greeted them inside the house and gave them food.
01:33The strangers came inside and sat down to eat.
01:36The Prophet served them roasted meat.
01:39But the strangers did not even touch it.
01:42The Prophet was a little scared.
01:45Then the angels told the Prophet that he should not be afraid.
01:49He told them that they were actually angels sent by Allah.
01:54He told them that he had come to his house to give them good news.
01:59He said that Allah is going to give him a son.
02:03His name should be Ishaq.
02:07He also told the Prophet that his son will be a prophet.
02:12Sara could not believe her ears.
02:15How can this be true?
02:17She was surprised.
02:19I have become very old.
02:21The angels said,
02:23Everything is possible by the will of Allah.
02:27A few months later, Sara was pregnant and a son was born from her womb.
02:32The Prophet named him Ishaq, as the angels had told him.
02:39Ishaq was raised as a obedient son.
02:44He worked very hard.
02:46And as the angels had said, he became a prophet of Allah.
02:51When Ishaq grew up, Ibrahim became very old.
02:56He knew that he would not live long.
02:59So he wanted to see his son get married.
03:03But he did not want to marry Ishaq to a girl from the Canaanite community.
03:08Because he did not believe in Allah.
03:11To find Ishaq's bride, one day he sent his trusted servant Haran.
03:18The servant, obeying the command of the Prophet, traveled for many days and reached Haran.
03:27After reaching Haran, the servant chose Ibn Nahor's daughter Rebecca,
03:32who was the brother of Prophet Ibrahim.
03:37And as the father wished, Ishaq married Rebecca.
03:44Rebecca could not become a mother for a long time.
03:47Ishaq, peace be upon him, prayed to Allah for a child.
03:53And many years later, twins were born to him.
03:58Ishaq named them Esau and Yaqub.
04:03Esau grew up to be a strong man.
04:06And he was a good hunter.
04:09But Yaqub was more intelligent.
04:12And he was his father's favorite.
04:18Often there were fights between the two brothers.
04:21Because Esau knew that his father liked Yaqub more.
04:27As they grew up, Esau's jealousy grew day by day.
04:33Ishaq, peace be upon him, grew old.
04:36And his eyesight became weak.
04:39One day he asked Esau to go hunting and cook meat.
04:44His wife Rebecca heard this conversation between them.
04:49And she ran to her son Yaqub.
04:52Hearing his father, Esau went hunting.
04:56Take out the two best goats from your herd.
04:59He said to his son, cook as your father likes.
05:04Go quickly before your brother returns.
05:08Yaqub did as his mother said.
05:11Rebecca asked him to wear his brother's clothes.
05:15And then she put goat skin on his hands and neck.
05:19So that he could look like Esau, who had a lot of hair on his body.
05:24And then Yaqub went to his father's room.
05:28Who are you? Esau asked.
05:32I am your son.
05:34Yaqub said in a loud voice.
05:37His father started eating.
05:39After eating, he prayed to Yaqub to be a good brother.
05:44And he said that he would guide the people.
05:47After praying, he went out of the room.
05:50After a while, Esau returned with the meat.
05:54And entered his father's room.
05:57What is this, son?
05:58The prophet heard Esau's footsteps and asked.
06:02I have brought the meat of your choice.
06:05Esau was confused.
06:08Didn't you bring food for me an hour ago?
06:11He asked.
06:12I had also prayed to you.
06:14No, I swear, I did not bring.
06:16Esau said.
06:18Then he learned that Yaqub had cheated him.
06:22He was so angry that he wanted to kill Yaqub right now.
06:27Whatever happened, Rebekah saw it all.
06:30She went to Yaqub.
06:31And she ordered him to go to her brother Laban, who lived in Haran.
06:37She told him to stay there until his brother's anger calmed down.
06:43Yaqub left his home.
06:46And started his journey towards Haran.
06:49He traveled in the desert for many days.
06:52One evening, he was very tired from walking.
06:56And he decided to take some rest.
06:59He put a stone on his head and went to sleep.
07:04And then he saw a wonderful dream.
07:07In his dream, he saw stairs from the ground to heaven.
07:12He saw that the angels were coming up and down those stairs.
07:18At the same time, Allah Almighty had blessed this whole area with prayers for Yaqub and the coming generations.
07:27When he woke up, he was filled with joy.
07:30He swore that if he returned safely to his home,
07:34then he would build a mosque for Allah Almighty there.
07:39With this, he swore to name the tenth part of his property in the name of Allah Almighty.
07:46He poured oil on that stone so that he could recognize that place later.
07:52This place is now known as Jerusalem.
07:58The next morning, Yaqub set out for Haran.
08:04After traveling for many days, he finally reached Haran.
08:09Yaqub met his uncle Laban there.
08:14His uncle was very happy to see him and invited him to come home.
08:19Laban had two daughters, Leah and Rachel.
08:24The Prophet started working hard at his uncle's house.
08:28During this time, he fell in love with his uncle's daughter, Rachel.
08:34After a while, he asked his uncle to allow him to marry Rachel.
08:40Work for me for seven years, he said,
08:43and then I will allow you to marry my daughter.
08:46The Prophet agreed to his conditions.
08:53Yaqub worked very hard and Laban was blessed.
09:01After seven years, his uncle arranged a party and people gathered for the wedding.
09:08But his uncle played a cunning trick and married his elder daughter Leah to Yaqub.
09:16Leah had a weak eyesight and was ugly.
09:19Yaqub found out the truth in the morning.
09:24When he realized that he had been deceived, he went to his uncle.
09:31You have deceived me, he said to Laban.
09:35I was engaged to Rachel and you got me married to Leah.
09:39His uncle said,
09:41There is no tradition of marrying a younger sister while having an elder sister.
09:45He also said,
09:47If you love Rachel, you will have to work for seven more years and then I will allow you to marry her.
09:54Yaqub worked very hard for the next seven years and then he got married to Rachel.
10:01It was not wrong for a man to marry two sisters, as mentioned in the Torah.
10:08Laban gave both the daughters to each maid as a gift.
10:12Leah's maid's name was Zilpah and Rachel's maid's name was Bilhah.
10:18Then what happened?
10:20I will tell you the rest of the story tomorrow.
10:23Oh no, tell me now, father, tell me now.
10:28Oh, it's time for you to sleep.
10:31I will ask you some questions now and I will tell you the rest of the story tomorrow.
