00:29Assalamu Alaikum.
00:30Waalaikum Assalam.
00:32I will tell you the story of Prophet Ibrahim A.S.
00:37Are you ready?
00:39Yes!
00:40Prophet Ibrahim played an important role for Islam.
00:45He fulfilled all the commandments given to him by Allah during his lifetime.
00:51As a result of his faith, Allah promised him that he will be the ruler of all the countries of the world.
00:59Now let's start his story.
01:02Bismillah!
01:15The birth of Prophet Ibrahim A.S. took place long time ago in Babylon.
01:22He was blessed with wisdom.
01:24And that's why he was considered very special in his childhood.
01:30When the Prophet was born, people worshipped the sun, moon and stars.
01:37In fact, they also worshipped idols.
01:41Ibrahim's father was a carpenter.
01:43And he used to make stone idols with his hands.
01:47His father never worshipped Allah.
01:50In his childhood, Ibrahim used to see his father making stone idols.
01:55Ibrahim was amazed to see these strange idols.
01:59And sometimes he used to play with them.
02:02But when he saw the same idol in the worship places, he got upset.
02:07He was surprised that why people used to prostrate in front of these idols.
02:13So he decided to ask his father about it.
02:17One day when his father was making the idol of Marduk,
02:21the Prophet asked him,
02:24Father, why do people worship these toys that you make?
02:29This is our God.
02:31His father replied,
02:33We should worship them to get their prayers.
02:37The Prophet asked,
02:39Why are his ears so big, father?
02:42This is the biggest God, Marduk.
02:45He replied,
02:47His big ears are a sign of deep knowledge.
02:51Although Ibrahim was only seven years old,
02:54he could not stop laughing.
02:57As time passed, Ibrahim grew up with wisdom and knowledge.
03:03He knew that Allah is the only Lord.
03:07As he grew up, hatred for idols increased in his heart.
03:11Ibrahim was now sixteen years old.
03:14Whenever he used to go to the worship places with his father,
03:17he used to get upset to see people worshipping idols.
03:22He saw that people make sacrifices to atone for their sins.
03:30One day Ibrahim left home to find Allah.
03:35Allah is the pure Lord.
03:38He walked for a long time
03:41and finally reached a mountain.
03:44He climbed the mountain and sat near a cave.
03:48He sat there for a long time
03:50and when he looked up,
03:52he saw a shining star.
04:02When he saw the beauty of that star,
04:05he thought that maybe that is Allah.
04:09But after a while, that star disappeared.
04:12He realized that that star is not Allah
04:15because Allah can never disappear.
04:19After a while, the moon appeared.
04:21The moon was very beautiful.
04:24Therefore, Ibrahim thought that the moon could be Allah.
04:28He kept staring at the moon for a long time.
04:32But after a few hours,
04:34when the moon disappeared from the sky,
04:36he realized that the moon is not Allah.
04:40Ibrahim was disappointed.
04:42But he kept staring at the sky on the mountain.
04:48Now it was morning
04:50and the sun came up.
04:53He saw the shining sun
04:55and then thought that it could be Allah
04:58because it is very big and very shiny.
05:02But in the evening,
05:03when the sun set in the sky,
05:05he realized that it is not Allah
05:08because Allah can never set.
05:11Now Ibrahim realized
05:13that Allah can never be created.
05:17He realized that Allah has created everyone,
05:21the sun, the moon and the stars.
05:25Then he prostrated on the ground and thanked Allah.
05:29He knew that Allah was guiding him.
05:33He realized that Allah has chosen him as his prophet.
05:38Allah has chosen him for the guidance of people.
05:42This was going to be a new life for Prophet Ibrahim.
05:47He returned home to give this good news to his father.
05:54But after hearing all this,
05:56his father got very angry.
05:59How dare you not believe in my gods?
06:02He asked in anger,
06:03Father, you follow me.
06:05I will guide you on the path of truth.
06:08If you do not repent now,
06:10then Allah will punish you.
06:12The Prophet said to him,
06:14If you do not stop saying all this,
06:16then I will tell people to throw stones at you.
06:19If you do not repent now,
06:21then I will tell people to throw stones at you.
06:23His father said in anger.
06:25After this, his father told the Prophet to leave the house.
06:29Ibrahim was very disappointed with his father.
06:33He realized that he could not do much more.
06:36So he left the house.
06:38Then he went to the other people of his government to guide them.
06:44He realized that his job is to bring people back to Allah.
06:49Ibrahim went to the market and said,
06:52Allah is the only true master.
06:55There is no god other than Allah.
06:58There is no other worship worthy of worship other than Allah.
07:02I will never do idolatry.
07:08When people heard him saying this in the market,
07:11they were very angry.
07:13Why do you worship idols?
07:15He asked them.
07:17Don't you think they have no power?
07:20People threatened him to leave.
07:23So Ibrahim had to leave the market.
07:26But the Prophet thought of a way
07:29to tell them that idolatry is not right.
07:32One day, there was a big procession by the river.
07:36And the Prophet knew that all the people of the city would be present there.
07:41The Prophet waited until he was sure that there was no one in the city.
07:47Then he took an axe and went into the prayer room.
07:51There were a lot of idols in the prayer room.
07:55And the Prophet started breaking all the idols with his axe.
08:00One by one, he broke all the idols except one.
08:06It was the biggest idol in the prayer room.
08:11He put the axe around the idol's neck and left.
08:16The next day, when the people of the city came to the prayer room to worship,
08:22they were amazed to see the idols broken into pieces.
08:26Those pieces were scattered all over the place.
08:40The people of the city gathered and discussed who had done this.
08:53One of them said,
08:55Yesterday there was a young boy in the market.
08:58He was opposing our God.
09:00I know him. His name is Ibrahim.
09:03The other man said,
09:05People searched for Prophet Ibrahim and brought him to the prayer room.
09:09They asked him,
09:11Are you the one who has done this to our God?
09:14This idol was here. Yes, this big one.
09:17The Prophet replied,
09:19Why don't you ask him?
09:21She will tell you if she can speak.
09:23This angered the people even more.
09:26You know very well that these idols do not speak.
09:29Then Prophet Ibrahim said,
09:31Why do you worship them when these idols cannot speak?
09:35They can neither see nor hear.
09:37Are you out of your minds?
09:39The people were embarrassed and looked around.
09:43They saw that the pieces of the idols were scattered all over the place.
09:48Some of them realized that Ibrahim was right,
09:51while the rest were still very angry with him.
09:55Punish him, they said.
09:57They wanted to take revenge for destroying the idols.
10:01They tied him up in chains
10:03and gathered around him to discuss how to punish the Prophet.
10:09Burn him in the fire, one of them said.
10:13Light a fire that no one has ever seen and throw him in it.
10:19Everyone thought it was a good idea.
10:23The people of Babylon started burning such a big fire
10:27that even the birds could not fly over it.
10:31It was so hot there that no one could go near it.
10:36Mashallah, this was a very good story.
10:40That's all for today.
10:41I will tell you the rest of the story tomorrow.
10:44Okay, father.
10:45Now can I ask you some questions about this story?
10:48Yes, ask.
10:49Where was the birth of Prophet Ibrahim?
10:52Babylon, he was born in Babylon.
10:54Mashallah, this is the right answer.
10:56Now tell me, what did the father of the Prophet do?
11:00I will give you some clues.
11:02First, education.
11:05Second, a drawing board.
11:07And third, wood.
11:09This was very easy.
11:11Second, he was a drawing board.
11:14Hmm, again right.
11:16Now the next question.
11:18Tell me, why was the Prophet told to leave the house?
11:22Hmm, the Prophet refused to worship idols.
11:25This made his father very angry.
11:28And that's why his father told him to leave the house.
11:31Isn't it right, father?
11:32Absolutely right, my child.
11:34Okay, why were the people of Babylon angry with the Prophet?
11:37The Prophet wanted to teach a lesson to the people of Babylon.
11:40That's why he broke the idols of which he worshipped.
11:45Mashallah, absolutely right answer.
11:47That's all for today.
11:48I will tell you the rest of the story tomorrow.
11:51Good night.
11:52Good night.
