00:00The Manila International Airport Authority continues to prepare for the turnover of the operation of the Inayakinong International Airport
00:08to the private concessionaire of the New Naiya Infrastructure Corporation.
00:13According to NIA Spokesperson and Head Executive Assistant, Atty. Chris Bendijo,
00:19the operation and maintenance of Naiya is now under the management of the private concessionaire.
00:26One of the expected changes are the new back seats in Terminal 3,
00:31added seating capacity in the waiting area of the pre-departure area, air conditioning and generator seats.
00:38The escalators and elevators are also running smoothly.
00:42Another major investment is the upgrade of the passenger boarding bridges and dishwall docking system.
00:49Employment contracts and employment contract signings of people who will be transferred to the private concessionaire are also underway.
00:57Meanwhile, NIA promised that as a regulator, they will monitor the plans of the private concessionaire.
01:07The obligation of NNIC is to increase the current passenger capacity of our terminals.
01:15As to the design, at present, it's designed just for 30 million passengers per year.
01:20But we're hitting around 50 already.
01:22So in their KPI, they should increase it to 60.
01:26The construction of the new terminal will be addressing this.
