00:06a copy of the Declaration of Independence of the Philippines.

00:11How much is the first copy of the paper,

00:14which is the original, in the National Library?

00:17Joseph Moro has the answer.

00:24It is a piece of paper,

00:26but the 12 pages of this paper is a large part of one of the most important events in history.

00:37This is a copy of the Act of Proclamation of Independence of the Filipino People

00:42or the Declaration of Independence of the Philippines on June 12, 1898.

00:46This document was written more than 100 years ago by Ambrosio Riazares Bautista.

00:52The Declaration of Independence of the Philippines was written here in Spain after more than 300 years of occupation in the Philippines.

00:58It is the right of Filipinos to be free and to establish their own government under the dictatorship of General Emilio Aguinaldo.

01:08I think the word dictator, maybe at that time it was seen in a different context.

01:14Maybe it didn't have a connotation that may be viewed in a negative sense.

01:21According to Jaime Ponce de Leon,

01:23a soldier of General Emilio Aguinaldo, Jose Manuelo,
