00:00Hi there, following a very soggy Sunday for many it's looking drier as we start
00:06the new week and also fresher not entirely dry however there is some cloud
00:12lingering through the Midlands and eastern England some patchy light rain
00:15and drizzle slowly fizzling away here but it will take its time and also a
00:21thickening of the cloud for Scotland and Northern Ireland outbreaks of rain
00:24moving into Western Scotland and Northern Ireland following several days
00:27of very warm and bright weather here but in between a slice of blue skies and
00:32certainly a much more cheerful outlook for the afternoon for the south and
00:37southwest compared with the last few days with temperatures reaching 1819
00:41Celsius lower dew points a fresher feel compared with recent weather it's going
00:47to feel cool especially for Western Scotland and Northern Ireland as the
00:50winds pick up strength into the evening and some heavy and persistent rain moves
00:54through an unsettled flavor into the nighttime for Scotland Northern Ireland
00:59northern and increasingly western parts of England as well as Wales the winds
01:04becoming strong across the north and west and driving bands of rain
01:09southwards so a wet start to the day on Tuesday but not a especially cold start
01:16with the blustery breeze temperatures will generally hold up in the high
01:20single figures or low double figures nevertheless in some places a more
01:24comfortable night for sleeping compared with the more oppressive nights of the
01:28end of last week a bright start for the southeast and increasingly bright skies
01:32for Scotland and Northern Ireland as this initial band of rain moves through
01:35that slows down as it pushes into Wales in the Midlands during the lunchtime
01:40period and then blustery showers for northern parts of the country longer
01:44spells of rain for Shetland and Orkney some very wet weather on Tuesday here
01:48accompanied by strong winds with the risk of gales and wind gusts of 50 miles
01:54an hour or more across the far north and northeast of Scotland so very unsettled
01:58in the north and northeast with those showers and longer spells of rain
02:01further south some blue skies away from the showers for Northern England North
02:06Wales but we've got cloudier skies and some showery rain at times through
02:10Tuesday and this longer spell of rain moving south as we end the afternoon
02:15feeling particularly cool where we've got those strong winds and gales in the
02:19far north and northeast and in the south well 19-20 Celsius possible but
02:26nevertheless it's not going to feel quite as pleasant with the wind picking
02:30up strength and showery rain moving along the rain is accompanied by this
02:35cold front and that moves through opening the door to a significant
02:40change midweek with winds all the way from the north and low pressure sitting
02:45over Scandinavia so it's going to feel significantly colder compared with the
02:51recent weather the coldest weather likely since spring and temperatures
02:56significantly below average early rain on Tuesday evening moving through clear
03:01skies following but quite a number of showers for Scotland Northern Ireland
03:04Northwest England and parts of Wales and that's the theme for Wednesday and
03:09Thursday north to northwesterly winds frequent showers especially in the north
03:13and northwest some sunshine in between but feeling much cooler
