00:00A People's Television Network sports program is among the awardees in the recently concluded 2024 Content Asia Awards held in Taipei, Taiwan.

00:10Rafael Bandeirel has the details.

00:15PTV Sports' original show, Masters of the Game, was recognized at the 2024 Content Asia Awards in Taipei, Taiwan.

00:23The program won bronze in the Best Sports Magazine Program category.

00:28With veteran journalist Bill Velasco at the helm, Masters of the Game gave viewers a new perspective into the lives and legacies of Filipino sports legends.

00:38Velasco, the host of the sports show, received the prestigious award.

00:43After going through a health crisis earlier this year,

00:47The intention of Masters of the Game is to give glory to our athletes, to the legends of sports in the Philippines,

00:54especially to those who have witnessed what they are doing.

00:58They are making the whole world proud.

01:00That's all. That's the only thing we want to happen.

01:05Velasco has made a triumphant return to broadcasting and delivering sports news.

01:11I still can't walk. After the heart surgery, I went back to work last July.

01:18And now, we are receiving awards in other countries.

01:21I am really thankful to God, to my family, to PTV, to our group, to PTV Sports, and to my new family in Diwan 1206 AM.

01:31Because, as I said, I am only here through the grace of God and the help of my friends.

01:38Also present at the event are Filipino actors Kayla Estrada, Kim Chu, and Arjo Atayde, who won the award for Best Male Lead in a TV Program.

01:48Meanwhile, PTV's Schoolmates was also nominated for Best Asian Talk Show.

01:54Rafael Banderil, from the National TV Network, for a new and better Philippines.
